In order to study the effect of gas extraction by high position borehole in goaf, and determine the best position of the borehole, it provides a reference for the selection of gas extraction target location by high position borehole in the future. Based on the goaf of 40113 working face of a mine in Fenxi Group of Shanxi Province, the gas migration model is established. and the gas extraction effect of high position borehole under different target strata is simulated by FLUENT. The results show that the gas concentration in the upper corner of the working face is reduced from 2.3% to 0.7% after using high position borehole to extract gas by compared with the non-extraction situation, which solves the problem of gas concentration exceeding the limit in the upper corner of the working face. When high position borehole of the distance from the floor of goaf is 26m,and the distance from the level of return air roadway is 25m, the gas concentration in the upper corner of the working face is 0.58%, and the gas concentration in the hole is the highest and the purity is the largest. © 2019 by Aussino Academic Publishing House.

PIDNet: An efficient network for dynamic pedestrian intrusion detection

Vision-based dynamic pedestrian intrusion detection (PID), judging whether pedestrians intrude an area-of-interest (AoI) by a moving camera, is an important task in mobile surveillance. The dynamically changing AoIs and a number of pedestrians in video frames increase the difficulty and computational complexity of determining whether pedestrians intrude the AoI, which makes previous algorithms incapable of this task. In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient multi-task deep neural network, PIDNet, to solve this problem. PIDNet is mainly designed by considering two factors: accurately segmenting the dynamically changing AoIs from a video frame captured by the moving camera and quickly detecting pedestrians from the generated AoI-contained areas. Three efficient network designs are proposed and incorporated into PIDNet to reduce the computational complexity: 1) a special PID task backbone for feature sharing, 2) a feature cropping module for feature cropping, and 3) a lighter detection branch network for feature compression. In addition, considering there are no public datasets and benchmarks in this field, we establish a benchmark dataset to evaluate the proposed network and give the corresponding evaluation metrics for the first time. Experimental results show that PIDNet can achieve 67.1% PID accuracy and 9.6 fps inference speed on the proposed dataset, which serves as a good baseline for the future vision-based dynamic PID study. Multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (MIMO-OFDM-IM) has the potential advantage to balance the trade-off between spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE). This paper investigates the application of MIMO-OFDM-IM to millimeter wave (mmWave) communication systems. Taking advantage of the properties of Pareto optimality, we propose a feasible solution to achieve a globally Pareto-optimal trade-off between SE and EE, and the collision constraints of multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) can be solved efficiently. The MOP of SE-EE trade-off can then be converted into a Pareto-optimal set (POS) solution problem. This combinatorial-oriented resource allocation approach on SE-EE relation considers the optimal beam design and power reallocation for downlink multi-user mmWave transmission. We adopt the Poisson point process (PPP) to model the mobile data traffic, and the evolutionary algorithm is applied to speed up the search efficiency of the Pareto front. Compared with benchmarks, the experimental results collected from extensive simulations reveal that the proposed optimization approach is vastly superior to existing algorithms.

The integrated Energy System (IES) becomes very important nowadays, however, the coupling between multiple energy systems will bring new challenges to the security control of the IES, such as combined heat and power (CHP) system. The corrective control means that the operations can be adjusted after contingency happens to eliminate the constraints violation in the contingency state such as the transmission outage or generator outage. This paper proposes a corrective control approach for CHP system integrated with the energy storage system based on security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) model. Case studies based on the IEEE 9-bus CHP system are presented to verify the method. The case result shows that the energy storage device can solve the ramping of the unit's output adjustment well. The corrective control method is more scientific and economical. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper investigates the distributed optimization of train scheduling and waiting passengers control problem for metro lines to improve the operational efficiency and service level. Integrating the train departure time and waiting passengers, a multi-train coupling state-space model is established. To improve computational efficiency, we propose a distributed optimization algorithm to decompose the complex joint optimization problem of multiple trains into several subproblems that can be computed in parallel. Based on the alternating direction method of multiplier (ADMM) algorithm, the coupling constraints between trains are effectively eliminated, and each subproblem is solved through iterative coordination with other subproblems. Numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed distributed optimization algorithm for train automatic train regulation and waiting passengers control.

With the rapid penetration of electrification, communication, and computer technologies into the transportation sector, conventional transportation system is undergoing important revolution, and the corresponding standard system is also facing huge challenges. In this paper, a method to evaluate the adaptability of current IEC standards facing the future sustainable transportation is proposed. Use cases related to future sustainable transportation were collected first, then all the collected use cases are evaluated and ranked. Important use cases are analyzed and recommendations to the current standardization system can be obtained. Two important use cases: coordinated charging and battery-powered tram are given as examples to show the results of the proposed method.

In order to investigate the wax inhibition performance of various inhibitors different scanning calorimetric (DSC), a powerful and quickly technique having no request of sample pretreatment, has been used for investigation the thermal characteristics of the wax remover. According to the parameters such as wax appearance temperature (WAT), content of wax and rheology, it is found that the best wax removing rate can be reached to 457mg/L•h under 40 C with 150mg/L surfactant combination (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether + calcium petroleum sulfonate + mixed alcohol). © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Dual-rotor system is an important rotor form in rotating machinery like gas turbine engine. Its complex structure results in rich dynamical behaviors and more probability to failure. The modeling and simulation of the dual-rotor system can help to understand its dynamic characteristics and provide theoretical support for the design, operation and maintenance. In this paper, a dynamic model of a dual-rotor system with multiple rotor faults is established. The dual-rotor vibration model without any fault is built by finite element method, where the two shafts are connected by an inter-shaft bearing and nonlinear models of rolling element bearing and squeeze film damper are considered. The numerical integration method of Newmark-β is used to obtain the steady-state vibration response of the system. Then rotor faults are introduced to the system model, including unbalance, misalignment, looseness and rub-impact. The steady-state responses of single faults in the dual-rotor system are analyzed and typical fault features are obtained. Then coupling characteristics between different rotor faults, and the influences of the squeeze film dampers on the dynamic characteristics and fault features of the system are studied. © 2018 Proceedings of the 9th International Symposium on Imprecise Probability.

In this paper, we explore the potential stealthy attacks in the DC microgrid (DCmG) equipped with unknown input observer (UIO) based detectors, which are widely adopted for the detection and identification of cyber-attacks. We first prove that once the attacker knows the bounds of the initial state estimation error and the measurement noise, he/she can launch the nonzero-dynamics stealthy (NDS) attack in the DCmG, which can affect the detection residual while keep stealthy. Considering the complexity of the multi-layer control framework in the DCmG, we simplify the primary control loops as static unit gains and obtain the systematic dynamic model of the DCmG under the NDS attack. Then, we obtain the analytical expressions of the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) voltages, which are utilized to analyze the effects of the NDS attack on voltage balancing and current sharing, respectively. Moreover, we prove that under the NDS attack, the voltage and current convergence can still be achieved exponentially in the DCmG. Finally, extensive simulations are conducted in Simulink/PLECS to validate our theoretical results.

The reciprocity principle governs the symmetry in transmission of electromagnetic and acoustic waves, as well as the diffusion of heat between two points in space, with important consequences for thermal management and energy harvesting. There has been significant recent interest in materials with time-modulated properties, which have been shown to efficiently break reciprocity for light, sound, and even charge diffusion. Quite surprisingly, here we show that, from a practical point of view, time modulation cannot generally be used to break reciprocity for thermal diffusion. We establish a theoretical framework to accurately describe the behavior of diffusive processes under time modulation, and prove that thermal reciprocity in dynamic materials is generally preserved by the continuity equation, unless some external bias or special material is considered. We then experimentally demonstrate reciprocal heat transfer in a time-modulated device. Our findings correct previous misconceptions regarding reciprocity breaking for thermal diffusion, revealing the generality of symmetry constraints in heat transfer, and clarifying its differences from other transport processes in what concerns the principles of reciprocity and microscopic reversibility. © 2021, CC BY.
