Job recommendation aims to provide potential talents with suitable job descriptions (JDs) consistent with their career trajectory, which plays an essential role in proactive talent recruitment. In real-world management scenarios, the availab.e JD-user records always consist of JDs, user profiles, and click data, in which the user profiles are typically summarized as the user’s skill distribution for privacy reasons. Although existing sophisticated recommendation methods can be directly employed, effective recommendation still has challenges considering the information deficit of JD itself and the natural heterogeneous gap between JD and user profile. To address these challenges, we proposed a novel skill-aware recommendation model based on the designed semantic-enhanced transformer to parse JDs and complete personalized job recommendation. Specifically, we first model the relative items of each JD and then adopt an encoder with the local-global attention mechanism to better mine the intra-job and inter-job dependencies from JD tuples. Moreover, we adopt a two-stage learning strategy for skill-aware recommendation, in which we utilize the skill distribution to guide JD representation learning in the recall stage, and then combine the user profiles for final prediction in the ranking stage. Consequently, we can embed rich contextual semantic representations for learning JDs, while skill-aware recommendation provides effective JD-user joint representation for click-through rate (CTR) prediction. To validate the superior performance of our method for job recommendation, we present a thorough empirical analysis of large-scale real-world and public datasets to demonstrate its effectiveness and interpretability. Learning 6-DoF Task-oriented Grasp Detection via Implicit Estimation and Visual Affordance

Currently, task-oriented grasp detection approaches are mostly based on pixel-level affordance detection and semantic segmentation. These pixel-level approaches heavily rely on the accuracy of a 2D affordance mask, and the generated grasp candidates are restricted to a small workspace. To mitigate these limitations, we firstly construct a novel affordance-based grasp dataset and propose a 6-DoF task-oriented grasp detection framework, which takes the observed object point cloud as input and predicts diverse 6-DoF grasp poses for different tasks. Specifically, our implicit estimation network and visual affordance network in this framework could directly predict coarse grasp candidates, and corresponding 3D affordance heatmap for each potential task, respectively. Furthermore, the grasping scores from coarse grasps are combined with heatmap values to generate more accurate and finer candidates. Our proposed framework shows significant improvements compared to baselines for existing and novel objects on our simulation dataset. Although our framework is trained based on the simulated objects and environment, the final generated grasp candidates can be accurately and stably executed in the real robot experiments when the object is randomly placed on a support surface. Facilitating Multi-turn Emotional Support Conversation with Positive Emotion Elicitation: A Reinforcement Learning Approach

Emotional support conversation (ESC) aims to provide emotional support (ES) to improve one’s mental state. Existing works stay at fitting grounded responses and responding strategies (e.g., question), which ignore the effect on ES and lack explicit goals to guide emotional positive transition. To this end, we introduce a new paradigm to formalize multi-turn ESC as a process of positive emotion elicitation. Addressing this task requires finely adjusting the elicitation intensity in ES as the conversation progresses while maintaining conversational goals like coherence. In this paper, we propose SUPPORTER, a mixture-of-expert-based reinforcement learning model, and well design ES and dialogue coherence rewards to guide policy’s learning for responding. Experiments verify the superiority of SUPPORTER in achieving positive emotion elicitation during responding while maintaining conversational goals including coherence. © 2023, CC BY.

Fuzzy-NMS: Improving 3D Object Detection with Fuzzy Classification in NMS

Non-maximum suppression (NMS) is an essential post-processing module used in many 3D object detection frameworks to remove overlapping candidate bounding boxes. However, an overreliance on classification scores and difficulties in determining appropriate thresholds can affect the resulting accuracy directly. To address these issues, we introduce fuzzy learning into NMS and propose a novel generalized Fuzzy-NMS module to achieve finer candidate bounding box filtering. The proposed Fuzzy-NMS module combines the volume and clustering density of candidate bounding boxes, refining them with a fuzzy classification method and optimizing the appropriate suppression thresholds to reduce uncertainty in the NMS process. Adequate validation experiments are conducted using the mainstream KITTI and large-scale Waymo 3D object detection benchmarks. The results of these tests demonstrate the proposed Fuzzy-NMS module can improve the accuracy of numerous recently NMS-based detectors significantly, including PointPillars, PV-RCNN, and IA-SSD, etc. This effect is particularly evident for small objects such as pedestrians and bicycles. Deep Reinforcement Learning Empowered Rate Selection of XP-HARQ

The complex transmission mechanism of cross-packet hybrid automatic repeat request (XP-HARQ) hinders its optimal system design. To overcome this difficulty, this letter attempts to use the deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to solve the rate selection problem of XP-HARQ over correlated fading channels. In particular, the long term average throughput (LTAT) is maximized by properly choosing the incremental information rate for each HARQ round on the basis of the outdated channel state information (CSI) availab.e at the transmitter. The rate selection problem is first converted into a Markov decision process (MDP), which is then solved by capitalizing on the algorithm of deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) with prioritized experience replay. The simulation results finally corroborate the superiority of the proposed XP-HARQ scheme over the conventional HARQ with incremental redundancy (HARQ-IR) and the XP-HARQ with only statistical CSI. © 2023, CC BY.

Establishing reliable correspondences is crucial for all registration tasks, including 2D image registration, 3D point cloud registration, and 2D-3D image-to-point cloud registration. However, these tasks are often complicated by challenges such as scale inconsistencies, symmetry, and large deformations, which can lead to ambiguous matches. Previous feature-based and correspondence-based methods typically rely on geometric or semantic features to generate or polish initial potential correspondences. Some methods typically leverage specific geometric priors, such as topological preservation, to devise diverse and innovative strategies tailored to a given enhancement goal, which cannot be exhaustively enumerated. Additionally, many previous approaches rely on a single-step prediction head, which can struggle with local minima in complex matching scenarios. To address these challenges, we introduce an innovative paradigm that leverages a diffusion model in matrix space for robust matching matrix estimation. Our model treats correspondence estimation as a denoising diffusion process in the matching matrix space, gradually refining the intermediate matching matrix to the optimal one. Specifically, we apply the diffusion model in the doubly stochastic matrix space for 3D-3D and 2D-3D registration tasks. In the 2D image registration task, we deploy the diffusion model in a matrix sub-space, where dual-softmax projection regularization is applied. For all three registration tasks, we provide adaptive matching matrix embedding implementations tailored to the specific characteristics of each task while maintaining a consistent"match-to-warp" encoding pattern. Furthermore, we adopt a lightweight design for the denoising module. In inference, once points or image features are extracted and fixed, this module performs multi-step denoising predictions through reverse sampling. Bridged Transformer for Vision and Point Cloud 3D Object Detection

3D object detection is a crucial research topic in computer vision, which usually uses 3D point clouds as input in conventional setups. Recently, there is a trend of leveraging multiple sources of input data, such as complementing the 3D point cloud with 2D images that often have richer color and fewer noises. However, due to the heterogeneous geometrics of the 2D and 3D representations, it prevents us from applying off-the-shelf neural networks to achieve multimodal fusion. To that end, we propose Bridged Transformer (BrT), an end-to-end architecture for 3D object detection. BrT is simple and effective, which learns to identify 3D and 2D object bounding boxes from both points and image patches. A key element of BrT lies in the utilization of object queries for bridging 3D and 2D spaces, which unifies different sources of data representations in Transformer. We adopt a form of feature aggregation realized by point-to-patch projections which further strengthen the correlations between images and points. Moreover, BrT works seamlessly for fusing the point cloud with multi-view images. We experimentally show that BrT surpasses state-of-the-art methods on SUN RGB-D and ScanNetV2 datasets. Persona-Guided Planning for Controlling the Protagonist's Persona in Story Generation

Endowing the protagonist with a specific personality is essential for writing an engaging story. In this paper, we aim to control the protagonist's persona in story generation, i.e., generating a story from a leading context and a persona description, where the protagonist should exhibit the specified personality through a coherent event sequence. Considering that personas are usually embodied implicitly and sparsely in stories, we propose a planning-based generation model named CONPER to explicitly model the relationship between personas and events. CONPER first plans events of the protagonist's behavior which are motivated by the specified persona through predicting one target sentence, then plans the plot as a sequence of keywords with the guidance of the predicted persona-related events and commonsense knowledge, and finally generates the whole story. Both automatic and manual evaluation results demonstrate that CONPER outperforms state-of-the-art baselines for generating more coherent and persona-controllab.e stories. Cooperative behavior has been of great concern in evolutionary game researches because of its important role in social life and natural *** memory can greatly influence the emergence of cooperative behavior,memory-based research on evolutionary games has proliferated in recent *** the present paper,inspired by the well-known "Stanford marshmallow experiment"(SME),we proposed a multi-memory mechanism in Snowdrift game(SDG) on spatial lattice networks whose core lies in what follows:Players are divided into two groups according to individual self-control;different memory lengths are set by group and by time in a single *** simulation results show that our proposed mechanism promotes cooperation level of the considered evolutionary *** specifically,as memory length increases to an intermediate length,the cooperation level increases as *** mechanism with short memory length,the effect of population structure is obvious and small values of adjusting factor can intensively facilitate high-frequency cooperative *** findings may be helpful to understand the connection between population heterogeneity and the emergence of high cooperation.
