With the rapid development and popularization of Web technology, how Web applications can be accessed quickly by users has become a concern in all Web application developers. At present, the optimization of the HTTP protocol is considered a mainstream method to achieve maximum generality Web acceleration. Among the optimization techniques, HTTP pipelining technology optimizes the traditional mechanisms of HTTP protocol interaction, resulting in a dramatic improvement in page load time. In this paper, the formulae for calculating page load time under four kinds of HTTP request contrast mechanisms were deduced by mathematical modeling. Then in order to accurately assess the impact of pipelining mechanism for web browsing optimization, the simulation of network protocol is carried out with different network environments and page features. Finally based on these results, some recommendations of HTTP pipelining configuration under different conditions are given.

Overlay networks have been widely deployed upon the Internet to provide improved network services. However, the interaction between overlay and traffic engineering (TE) as well as among co-existing overlays may occur. In this paper, we adopt game theoretic approaches to analyze this hybrid interaction. Firstly, we model a situation of the hybrid interaction as an n+1-player non-cooperative game, where overlays and TE are of equal status, and prove the existence of Nash equilibrium (NE). Secondly, we model another situation of the hybrid interaction as a 1-leadern-follower Stackelberg-Nash game, where TE is the leader and coexisting overlays are followers, and prove that the cost at Stackelberg-Nash equilibrium (SNE) is at least as good as that at NE for TE. Thirdly, we propose a cooperative coalition mechanism based on Shapley value to overcome the inherent inefficiency of NE and SNE, where players can improve their performance and form stable coalitions.

In Content-Centric networking (CCN), most existing works do not consider energy savings by turning off network devices in CCN. In this paper, we systematically analyze the energy efficiency problem in CCN by turning off the content routers and network links. We formulate the energy consumption issue as a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model, and propose a centralized solution via spanning tree heuristic and a fully distributed consensus optimization algorithm via the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to solve the problem for CCN. By duplicating flow variables, the energy consumption problem decomposes into node specific subproblems with local variables. These variables are iteratively driven into consensus via the ADMM. Simulation results reveal that the proposed distributed algorithm is amenable to energy-efficient implementation, due to smaller amount of local information exchange at each iteration. Moreover, the proposed algorithm can converge to final status in a significantly smaller number of iterations compared to the method based on dual decomposition. In addition, our algorithm scales better to large networks and it does not require intensive fine-tuning of the step size.

Reducing the energy consumption of cellular wireless access networks is not only beneficial for the global environment but also makes commercial sense for telecommunication operators, our research focus on how to put forward a constructive energy saving method in the precondition of guaranteed service quality for customer. In this paper, we based on the signaling data and location data coming from one of Chinese main operator's customers, trying to analysis the law that with the increase of users in a district, how their demand for energy change. Through the use of the law, operators can make a basis when conducting the construction of the base station at the time of city expansion and the redundancy phenomenon of construction of base station can be effectively reduced and then make contributions to energy saving, the law can also be used to provide a reference for city Planning Bureau when they conducting the urban planning and the construction of Green city and then get the purpose of optimal allocation of resources. In our study, we carry out the statistics of 1558053 users from Chongqing city, finally we found that with the increase of customer' number of each special district, the number of total traffic in the city present a change of power function.

Wi-Fi technology is becoming more and more popular and anomaly detection for user behavior is much required in many fields such as public security, therefore anomaly detection for offline user behavior based on Wi-Fi is attracting many researchers' attention. There are already some researches in anomaly detection focusing on single user behavior, while the distribution of group user behaviors is considered in this paper. A novel method using cross entropy model which is usually used for networking attacking in computer network is proposed to detect anomalies of offline user behavior in wireless network. Moreover, to make the anomaly detection available in different scenes, cross entropy model is optimized by using membership function of fuzzy mathematic. Experiments conducted in campus, hotel and office satisfy the expected results, which verify the feasibility and efficiency. And the result retrieved from optimized model is better than that of original model.

Future networks need to get knowledge of users' requirements by analyzing big data to achieve intelligence. OpenFlow is the first standard communications interface defined between the control and forwarding layers of a SDN architecture. So as to enhance network flexibility and availability, this paper presents a network resource allocation scheme equipped with the ability of user preference awareness, by connecting a cloud platform of analyzing users' data. We use the Hadoop platform to predict the rate and type of the incoming flows and employ them to get the lightest burden link through the LARAC algorithm. It has been verified on the BUPT SDN test bed that this system is capable of allocating the network resources dynamically by predicting the network load in advance. The results show that the proposed methods achieve better load balance than previous networks.

With the easy access to cloud technologies and rich applications, more people tend to store their data in cloud. However, the data in the cloud have to face the privacy and security challenges. To enforce the privacy and security protection of data in the cloud, Slice-based Secure Data Storage in Multi-Cloud Environment (SSDS-MC) is proposed in this paper. Specifically, user data are divided into multiple slices, which are stored separately into different cloud. The advantages of SSDS-MC are two-fold: i) each cloud service provider does not have all the slices of the user data and thus cannot retrieve the full user data by the slice stored in his cloud, which can further protect the privacy and security of user data; ii) each slice can be duplicated and uploaded to multiple cloud, which improve the availability of data in case the slice gets lost or damaged in one place.

With the emerging and rapid development of Internet applications like social networks, E-commerce and so on, massive information has been created and stored. Recommender systems have been developed to deal with the information overload problem. Various recommendation algorithms have been proposed and Collaborative Filtering (CF) is one of the most remarkable. However, many similarity-based CFs suffer from a popularity bias problem: Popular items are frequently recommended not necessarily promoting the accuracy but making the recommendation lacking diversity. In this paper, we firstly explain how the item popularity impacts on the recommendation. Secondly, we propose an enhanced collaborative filtering approach (ECF) by adding item popularity control into a user-taste based method. Different from some other existing item popularity based CF methods, the popularity control in our approach is flexible and tunable. After that, extensive experiments are performed on two real benchmark datasets where the relationship between item popularity control and recommendation accuracy and diversity is investigated and turns out to be nonlinear. Experimental results demonstrate that temperate item popularity control can further improve the recommendation accuracy and diversity significantly, compared with the pure user-taste based method. But intemperate control makes the performance even worse Thus the flexibility is indeed essential and valuable.

Finding importance of nodes in the virtual network is an important research problem. In this study, our team analyzed the small-world network, and proposed a network modeling method for the virtual networking. Firstly, we analyze two key nodes detecting algorithms, one is based on depth-first search, while the other concentricity analysis. Then we proposed an evaluation method for node importance based on mutual information. This method precisely reveals topology characteristic of the network, reflecting the relative importance of nodes. The experiment is carry on and compared with other methods. Results shows that our method based on mutual information is simple and effective, it is suitable for evaluating the node importance in large virtual networking.

Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a typical application of Internet of things in the field of transportation, which aims at achieving an integrated intelligent transportation system to enhance traffics, to avoid accidents, to ensure road safety, and to improve driving experiences. Due to its characteristics of dynamic topological structures, huge network scale, non-uniform distribution of nodes, and mobile limitation, IoV systems face various types of attacks, such as authentication and identification attacks, availability attacks, confidentiality attacks, routing attacks, data authenticity attacks and etc., which result in several challenging requirements in security and privacy. Many security scientists made numerous efforts to ensure the security and privacy for the Internet of Vehicles in recent years. This paper aims to review the advances on issues of security and privacy in IoV, including security and privacy requirements, attack types, and the relevant solutions, and discuss challenges and future trends in this area.
