The Undulating Grey Model (UGM) can be used to predict internet traffic, and it performs better than other Grey Models upon multi-scale traffics. However, UGM employs frequency spectrum of the traffic and needs to select the most significant frequencies as the parameters, which is hard to be decided manually. In this paper, we introduce clustering methods to find the significant frequencies. We find the best modeling length based on different clustering groups. We also find the value of the best modeling length is relevant to the frequency spectrum.

This paper considers optimizing the utilization of radio resources in a heterogeneous networks consisting of a WLAN and a CDMA network. We propose a joint admission control scheme for multimedia traffic that exploits vertical handoffs as an effective tool to enhance radio resource management while guaranteeing handoff users' QoS requirements. The network resources utilized by the vertical handoff user are captured by a link utility function. A signaling cost is used to model the signaling and processing load incurred on the network when vertical handoff is performed. The performance of the joint admission control scheme is analyzed based on the formulation of the admission control actions. Voice and data applications are considered in the performance evaluation, and the simulation results show that the proposed scheme can efficiently relieve the congestion, balance the load and improve the overall network reward.

The effect of multimedia conference system is the main factor influencing people's communication. In this article, we will try our best to enhance the quality of video effect and improve the efficiency of multimedia transmission. Through using high compression video codec (H.264), cutting the data at the sending part, catching and sorting the data at the receiving part, we can minimize the data of video, reduce the loss rate through network and improve the decoding rate at the receiving part. By using those methods, the software can acquire better real time and higher quality.

With the rapid development of Internet, it has become an essential infrastructure for communication today, while the IP layer has a poor ability in fast failure recovery, which impending the improving of the Internet performance. Concerned to the single link failure problems, this paper proposed a fast link failure recovery mechanism based on multi-topology. Firstly, by theoretical analysis, the number of the backup topology was determined with up to 3;Secondly, we also proposed to create the smallest similarity graphs as the backup topologies which is based on link vector similarity so than the router can switch to the backup link computed in advance to protect the failure in real time. Simulation results show that the shortest average path length obtained by our Multi-Topology(MT) algorithm has little difference with the Dijkstra algorithm, but is less than FIR(Failure Insensitive Routing), which exhibits a good performance. In addition, with the increasing of node degree, mathematical expectation and variance of the shortest average path difference between MT and Dijkstra remains a very small range that can be ignored.

Multimedia conference system supports people in different places share audio, video and documents to achieve real-time communication. There are two causes of network congestion: one is the lack of network resources, and the other is the irrational allocation of network resources. While traditional congestion control methods such as rate control, window mechanism, queue control, etc. can be applied to solve the congestion problem, but for the later congestion case, the fundamental solution is to make more effectively use of the network resources by adjusting the traffic routing choice when congestion occurs. Therefore, in the OSPF (Open Shortest Path First ) network, when congestion occurs in a certain link, lots of unused bandwidth may exist in the links which are not on the SPT. By adjusting the routes, traffic can bypass the current congest link and be forwarded to the destination consecutively, and the network congestion can be lightened eventually. In this paper we proposed a new link congestion control mechanism based on Multi-Topology: when congestion occurs in a certain link, according to the sub topology, the router can switch to the backup link computed in advance, so that traffic can avoid the current congestion to be forward to the destination. The simulation result shows that, our mechanism can make use of the remaining link bandwidth effectively to lighten network congestion.
