Titanium dioxide(TiO_(2))has been widely investigated for photocatalytic H_(2) evolution and photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting since ***,its wide bandgap(3.0-3.2 eV)limits the optical absorption of TiO_(2) for sufficient utilization of solar *** TiO_(2) has been proposed as an effective strategy to enhance its solar absorption and thus the photocatalytic and PEC activities,and aroused widespread research *** this article,we reviewed the recent progress of black TiO_(2) for photocatalytic H_(2) evolution and PEC water splitting,along with detailed introduction to its unique structural features,optical property,charge carrier transfer property and related theoretical *** summarized in this review article,black TiO_(2) could be a promising candidate for photoelectrocatalytic hydrogen generation via water splitting,and continuous efforts are deserved for improving its solar hydrogen efficiency.

A tortuous labyrinth passage consists of a series of right angle turns in a disk of high pressure control *** this paper,numerical simulations are made for the velocity and pressure distributions in this *** is shown that the “series passage” can induce a pressure dropping more *** main function of the “series passage” is to induce a pressure dropping while the “parallel passage” is mainly to regulate the *** a cross sectional area process,a series of reduction and expansion,the pressure will also see dropping and partial recovery,which is called the multistage pressure *** this way,the velocity can be controlled in a reasonable level anywhere in this tortuous labyrinth *** the fluid pressure dropping in a downwards serrated way,the pressure is higher than the local saturate vapor pressure,therefore,no cavitation is induced by the phase transition.

Investigation on Correlations between Chemical Properties of High-alkali Solid Fuels

The ash-related issues due to the high-alkali characteristic are still unresolved during utilization of biomass and Zhundong coal. Here, the correlations of several chemical properties of high-alkali solid fuels were investigated. The distributions of ash compositions in various biomass exhibit obvious diversity, while the distribution of K 2 O content within wheat and corn straws are the most scattered. The ash content in biomass shows a decrease tendency with the increase of carbon content. Zhundong coals generally have medium but close ash fusion points despite of quite different ash compositions sometimes.

Product-based Carbon Constraint Energy Planning with pinch analysis for sustainable methanol industry in China

For the purpose of greenhouse gas control in chemical industries, the industrial structure adjustment and lowcarbon technology retrofit are the alternatives for policymakers and plants to simultaneously meet the energy demand and carbon emission limit. Considering the various technological sources and predictable product demand in methanol production industries, this paper presents the method of Product-based Carbon Constraint Energy Planning (PCEP) combined with improved GM(1,1) model to analyse the practical interaction between energy demand and carbon emission for methanol industry in 2020 in China. The results show that without any emission reduction measures, the total carbon emissions of methanol industry in 2020 would be 4.84 times larger than that of 2011. By enhancing the methanol production of biomass routing and conducting the project of CO2 capture and storage (CCS) in all coal-to-methanol plants, the total carbon emissions would be 36.01 % less than the given carbon constraint. Besides, at least 65 % of coal-to-methanol plants should be retrofitted with CCS on the consideration of the current challenges of biofuel development in order to meet the carbon constraint. The energy structure of China and the inherent property with high carbon content in coal determine that the coal-to-methanol routing contributes the most of methanol supply but also the maximum carbon emissions in the methanol industry, even if policymakers and plants take measures to adjust the industrial structure and retrofit the existing plants with low-carbon technology. Integration of Organic Rankine Cycle with Lignite Flue Gas Pre-drying for Waste Heat and Water Recovery from Dryer Exhaust Gas: Thermodynamic and Economic Analysis

The flue gas pre-drying of lignite produces a moisture rich dryer exhaust gas which can be further cooled to recover the waste heat and water vapor. An environmental friendly power system is investigated in the present work, which integrates the lignite flue gas pre-drying system with an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) to utilize the waste heat to generate power and capture the condensed water. Simulation models of the integrated system are developed, incorporating thermodynamic and economic evaluation indicators. The optimal energy and exergy efficiencies of the ORC system are calculated to be 3.10% and 24.57%, respectively, for an evaporation temperature of 51 °C when R245fa is used as the working fluid. Accordingly, the ORC power output is 3.61 MW and the absolute plant efficiency improvement is 0.27% points. Moreover, 55.17% of the water vapor can be recovered. The economic performance significantly relies on the specific investment cost of ORC and the electricity selling price. Typically, the break-even points of the specific investment cost are 2300 €/kW and 3700 €/kW when electricity selling prices are 0.05 €/kWh and 0.08 €/kWh, respectively.

We describe here a one-step method for the synthesis of Au/TiO2 nanosphere materials,which were formed by layered deposition of multiple anatase TiO2 *** Au nanoparticles were stabilized by structural defects in each TiO2 nanosheet,including crystal steps and edges,thereby fixing the Au-TiO2 perimeter *** transfer occurred along the gaps between these TiO2 nanosheet layers and in contact with catalytically active sites at the Au-TiO2 *** doped Au induced the formation of oxygen vacancies in the Au-TiO2 *** vacancies are essential for generating active oxygen species（-＊O^-） on the TiO2 surface and Ti^3＋ ions in bulk *** ions can then form Ti^3＋-O^--Ti^4＋species,which are known to enhance the catalytic activity of formaldehyde（HCHO） *** studies on structural and oxygen vacancy defects in Au/TiO2 samples provide a theoretical foundation for the catalytic mechanism of HCHO oxidation on oxide-supported Au materials.

The code development and thermo-hydrodynamic analysis of the reflood during severe accident in PWR

The reflooding, i.e. injecting water to the uncovered degraded core, is the most important accident management measure to terminate a severe accident and to stop the core from being melt in LWR. The reflooding of LWR core during severe accident may lead to the core cooling and cessation or to the temperature escalation and further development of the accident. That will depend on several important parameters, characterizing the core state and the way of the reflooding. Appropriate understanding of the complex core reflooding phenomena is necessary for the prediction of the system evolution. Based on the reflood flow and heat transfer characteristics, a thermo-hydraulic analysis model for the reflood phase was developed and presented in this paper. Based on this model, a code module was developed for the thermo-hydraulic analysis of reflood. The calculation results for the different conditions are compared with the FLECHT data and the QUENCH data, respectively. The results showed that the calculation results and the experiment data are in substantial agreement. Then the influences of the system pressure, the subcooling of coolant and the wall temperature on reflood characteristics were studied, too. The quench velocity falls when the wall temperature went up. The quench velocity increases when the system pressure increases. The quench velocity drops with the increasing of water temperature. The paper also provides a theoretical basis for safety analysis of fuel element cladding during reflood phase.

Based on the principle of depth from defocus,a three-dimensional positioning method based on two images with different degrees of blur was proposed for moving *** theoretical analysis,simulation work and experimental study of the 3 D movement measurement for micrometer-sized particles are carried out,respectively.A system was established for measuring experiments of three-dimensional particle movement,using single lens and dual *** distance between the lens and one of the cameras was adjusted by increasing the spacers of different *** the same object distance,two images with different degree of blur were *** image was transformed into gradient image by the adaptive edge detection algorithm based on gradient *** on the theory of moment invariants,the bright area of the image edge compared to the whole image is calculated,and the ratio of the two defocus radius α is *** to the formula of the object distance u,the depth position of the particle can be realized without *** order to verify the feasibility of the system,the simulation studies were conducted based on the calibrated parameters of the system,and images of the standard dots of 45μm to 2000μm were captured and processed for *** results show that during simulation,the error is less than 2% in 15 times depth of field of the imaging system,and the error in experiments is less than 8% in 12 times of depth of *** the results show that the size of particles has little effect on the accuracy of the method.

[email protected] 2 O 4 fiber-in-tube mesoporous nanostructure: Formation mechanism and high electrochemical performance as an anode for lithium-ion batteries

In this paper, [email protected] 2 O 4 with a fiber-in-tube mesoporous nanostructure has been fabricated via a one-step single-spinneret electrospinning technique. This unique nanostructure is made of an outer spinel CoFe 2 O 4 tube and a loose inner fiber composed of the residual carbonaceous materials and metal precursors. The nanostructure's properties, such as morphology, components, structures and thermal stability, are characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Brunauer, Emmett and Teller type specific area (S BET ) determination, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). As an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the [email protected] 2 O 4 composite (6.25 wt% carbon content) exhibits a high reversible capacity of 740 mA h g −1 after over 200 cycles at the current density of 200 mA g −1 with excellent cycling stability, which is attributed to its one dimensional continuous fiber-in-tube mesoporous morphology, as well as its stable structure benefiting from the existence of carbonaceous yolk. In addition, pure CoFe 2 O 4 nanotubes can also be obtained by sequentially agitating this product in water, which provides more potential applications of CoFe 2 O 4 .
