Considering transmission capabilities and renewable integration, zonal regulation and spinning reserve requirements are discussed to handle uncertainty of load and renewable energy as well as any N-1 outage. A new zonal reserve model is proposed in the paper including reserve dispatched time constraints, zonal reserve requirements and network security constraints using the method of chance constrained programming. Analysis on the IEEE 39 system demonstrates the model can schedule zonal energy, regulation and spinning reserve in an economic way for a renewable power integrated system.

To investigate the fault features of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) with rotor side converter (RSC) control, an analytic method of calculating the DFIG short-circuit current is proposed in this paper. Based on the space vector model of DFIG with RSC control, the dynamic equation of rotor current reflecting both the machine transient process and the impact of RSC control is derived, and analytic expressions of rotor and stator fault current in time-domain are obtained. The calculation result is certified by being compared with the PSCAD simulation result. According to the derived analytic expressions, the components of the DFIG short-circuit current are analyzed. It indicates that the machine terminal voltage dip of DFIG, the current reference value, the orientation angle, and the proportional-integral value of RSC controller are main factors influencing the short-circuit current characteristics.

The power system needs to coordinate the economic dispatch and the carbon emission under the carbon market. The CO 2 emission characteristics of different generation resources arc analyzed, then generation resources are divided into three categories: high , low and zero carbon emission. Considering the carbon capture unit and the demand response, the Low-Carbon Economic Dispatch model is established with carbon trading cost included in the objective function. To take the uncertainty of carbon price caused by multiple uncertain factors into consideration, a new low-carbon economic dispatch model is built, which uses Conditional Value-at-Risk(CVaR) method to recalculate the carbon trading cost. The YALMIP software is applied to solve the proposed model. The case studies show that low-carbon economic dispatch can improve the utilization of low-carbon and zero-carbon generation resources under carbon trading framework and the dispatch results are affected by the changes of carbon price greatly. Furthermore, with confidence level of carbon price uncertainty rising, the dispatch costs and carbon emissions increase accordingly.

A short-term stochastic production simulation method considering the forecast error of renewable sources power is proposed to focus on the issue that conventional production simulation method is incapable of depicting the forecast error of renewable sources power. The proposed method contains two hierarchies, i.e. the day-ahead simulation and the real-time simulation. As for day-ahead simulation, a day-ahead scheduling of conventional units and renewable energy plants is determined by solving a unit commitment model on the basis of forecasted renewable sources power and load profiles. Real-time simulation is the supplement to day-ahead simulation and it corrects the results in day-ahead simulation. The validity of the proposed method is proved with a real power grid in Northwest China. Case studies show that conventional units may be still the major resource of power grids although these installed capacity is no larger than renewable energy resources. Meanwhile, forecast errors actually impact reliability of power systems.

The aim of software safety assessment is to evaluate whether the software meets the safety requirements, and this measurement is very important to ensure and confirm the software safety. This paper presents a new software safety assessment method that is based on the combination of frequency analysis and Analytic Hierarchy Process. First, use frequency analysis method to select some appropriate assessment indicators; then use the Analytic Hierarchy Process to construct the assessment system and assign suitable weight values to indicators at all layers of system; finally rate the software safety.
