In order to test the travelling wave fault location devices that widely used in power system, a simulation model that can reflect the transformer characteristics of travelling waves on the transmission channel should be built. In this paper, the current transformer (CT) on the transmission channel is modelled, then the CT attenuation characteristic to travelling waves is proved by adding sine wave and square wave on the CT primary side. By using PSCAD and travelling wave fault locator examiner, a half-real time simulation environment is constituted to test the travelling wave fault locator. In PSCAD, CT is modeled by measuring parameters. Finally, amplitude frequency response characteristics of the actual CT and the CT model are compared. The result shows that simulation model in this paper reflects well on the CT high-frequency attenuation characteristic. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2023.

Performance evolution of typical Ni-YSZ anode-supported SOFCs during the initial-stage operation ( 20 h), regardless of the operating current. In the activation stage, the cell performance maintains stable or slightly increases due to the enhanced anode gas-phase diffusion. While in the subsequent aging stage, the cell performance decreases significantly and gradually approaches a plateau in about 100 hours, mainly due to the weakened anode charge transfer reaction and ionic transport processes. Therefore, it is suggested that more efforts should be focused on improving the stability of anode microstructure, especially the stability of anode functional layer. © 2021 Electrochemical Society Inc.. Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) provides an efficient and clean pathway to generate electricity. In addition to hydrogen, SOFCs also hold the possibility for the utilization of a variety of carbon containing fuels. A practical kilowatt-class SOFC system fueled by methane has been preliminarily integrated previously. This study intended to obtain the optimized working conditions for the prereformer, with which the SOFC module can exhibit higher electrical performance. Detailed thermodynamic analysis and experimental measurements of steam methane reforming (SMR) were carried out under different steam to carbon ratios (S/C) and temperatures, where the experimental results matched well with the thermodynamic calculation. Based on the optimized working condition of SMR, the electrical performance and stability of a planar single-layer stack (10×10 cm2) fueled by the reformate syngas was evaluated. The maximum electrical efficiency reached 65.39% (LHV) at 750 C, and 50-hour stable operation under 50% (LHV) electrical efficiency was achieved. © 2021 Electrochemical Society Inc.. The fault transient characteristics of power grids have undergone a fundamental transformation as a consequence of the advent of hybrid scale access to power grids by new energy sources. Nevertheless, the existing stand-alone equivalent model is unable to accurately characterise the fault transient characteristics of the hybrid light-water-wind electric field/cluster. Furthermore, the simulation computation of the stand-alone equivalent model is considerable in scale and the simulation efficiency is low. This paper proposes a particle swarm neural network-based clustered equivalent modelling method for a light-water-wind hybrid electric field. Firstly, a transient model of the light-water-wind hybrid electric field is established, and the characteristic influence factors of faults are constructed through theoretical analysis. These include the distance between the light-water-wind hybrid electric field and the point of common coupling (PCC), the input of current limiting measures on the DC side, the light, the water speed, the wind speed, and the reactive power at the outlet. Subsequently, the Euclidean distance is calculated for the set of characteristic influencing factors, and the initial centre of clustering of wind turbines is extracted based on the improved maximum-minimum distance method. Ultimately, the clustering equivalent modelling is accomplished through the utilisation of the aforementioned feature influencing factors and the classification initial centre as the training set. The simulation results show that compared with the single-machine equivalent model, The simulation error has been reduced from the order of magnitude of 10-2 p.u. to the order of magnitude of 10-4 p.u., while the simulation efficiency of this method is has been reduced from the order of magnitude of 10-2 s to the order of magnitude of 10-4 s. © 2024 IEEE.

With the improvement of the informatization of the power system, the risk of cyber attack is also increasing. This paper proposes a risk assessment and prevention strategy for cyber attack against substations. Firstly, the cyber attack against substations are modeled based on the game theory of dynamic attack and defense. Secondly, an improved OPA (ORNL-PSERC-Alaska) model is utilized to analyze the cascade failure after cyber attacks and quantify the load loss of power system. Finally, a preventive strategy which can mitigate the expectation load loss caused by cyber attack against substations is put forward. simulation experiments were conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, the power grid is carrying out the standardized design and application of 220kV spare power automatic switching equipment. It is more difficult to carry out the on-site standby automatic switching function test in the actual power grid. The power supply department urgently needs a simulation environment that can truly simulate the actual power grid to support the development of this functional test. Real-time simulation has the ability to carry out on-site automatic transfer function tests in terms of technical feasibility. To verify its effectiveness, this paper built a standardized closed-loop test system for 220kV spare power automatic switching equipment based on real-time simulation. A number of tests have been carried out for the automatic switch-on function of on-site equipment, and the device action events on the actual site have been inverted. The test results show that the established RTDS real-time simulation model has the ability to simulate the actual 220kV power grid. It has been verified that the action logic of the standby automatic input device in various modes meets the requirements of the standard specification, which strongly supports the standardized application of the 220kV spare power automatic switching equipment function of the power grid. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper illustrates the phenomenon of oscillatory instability under large disturbance of grid-connected voltage source converter (VSC) with the outer control loops. A 3rd-order nonlinear differential-algebraic equations (DAE) model with DC and AC voltage outer control loops is developed, and the existence of an unstable limit cycle is verified. The unstable limit cycle is induced by the outer control loops and is a component of the stability boundary of the VSC system. The characteristics of the unstable limit cycle and the stability boundary are also analyzed. The conclusions are verified with simulation results of both the reduced-order DAE model and the full-order model. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to their outstanding electrical insulation performance,low energy loss and high reliability,polymer dielectrics are widely used in flexible electronics,capacitors and large-scale power transmission equipment[1–5].However,polymer dielectrics accumulate large amounts of charge on their surface during use,which causes local electric field distortion and induces flashover,explosion,and equipment damage[6–9].Although researchers have attempted to develop methods to reduce the accumulation of surface charge through material modification,such as plasma treatment[10],direct fluorination[11],and coating[7,9,12],each of these methods has drawbacks;thus,the bottleneck has yet to be overcome.

Enhancing the electrical performance of silicone rubber (SiR) for cable accessories is noteworthy as they are almost the weakest parts of the cable system. Two types of voltage stabilizers were grafted onto the surface of nano-zirconia (ZrO 2 ) particles, and the grafted nanoparticles were added to the SiR. Measurements such as breakdown strength, and conductivity were carried out to evaluate the electrical performance of SiR nanocomposites. The electrical performance measurement results indicated that the breakdown strength of the nanocomposite SiR improved while the conductance current was reduced. The trap distribution showed that the improvement of the electrical performance of the nanocomposite SiR is mainly due to the decrease of the shallow trap density or the increase of the deep trap density.

Static DC and PR are typical operation conditions of HVDC converter transformer bushing outlet device, moreover, the electrical parameters of RIP, transformer oil and OIP have the nonlinear relationship with E-field stress and temperature. Under the temperature gradient, the electrical parameters will modify the static DC and PR E-field distribution of the composite insulation. In order to simulate static DC and PR electric field of the composite insulation structure, this paper established the full model of the converter transformer outlet. Then, the structure parameters of converter transformer outlet have been optimized using combined RBF neural network and NSGA-II algorithm. Moreover, electric field verification calculation has been carried out under AC and PR conditions. The results show that under uniform temperature condition, E-field strength is larger than that under iso-thermal condition. The overshoot coefficient of the bushing end and barrier reach 65% and 45%, respectively. The study can provide reference for the design of outlet structure of the converter transformer.
