With the development of energy industry and infor-mation technologies, the concept of energy Internet is proposed to prevent the energy crisis and reduce the environmental pollution. However, the planning of energy Internet is facing great challenges that there are large uncertainties of boundary conditions in the planning. The collection of Internet information can help solve the problem. This paper introduces the method of collecting objective data from the Internet, such as renewable energy sources data, climate data, and economic data, and the usage of the data for energy Internet planning. The method of collecting and processing fuzzy information from the Internet are introduced as well. The events related to the energy Internet planning can be perceived and be applied to the multi-scenario planning of energy Internet. Besides, the difficulties and outlooks of the usages are given. © 2017 IEEE.

China has implemented retrofitting measures in coal-fired power plants (CFPPs) to reduce air pollution through small unit shutdown (SUS), the installation of air pollution control devices (APCDs) and power generation efficiency (PGE) improvement. The reductions in highly toxic Hg emissions and their related health impacts by these measures have not been well studied. To refine mitigation options, we evaluated the health benefits of reduced Hg emissions via retrofitting measures during China's 12th Five-Year Plan by combining plant-level Hg emission inventories with the China Hg Risk Source-Tracking Model. We found that the measures reduced Hg emissions by 23.5 tons (approximately 1/5 of that from CFPPs in 2010), preventing 0.0021 points of per-foetus intelligence quotient (IQ) decrements and 114 deaths from fatal heart attacks. These benefits were dominated by CFPP shutdowns and APCD installations. Provincial health benefits were largely attributable to Hg reductions in other regions. We also demonstrated the necessity of considering human health impacts, rather than just Hg emission reductions, in selecting Hg control devices. This study also suggests that Hg control strategies should consider various factors, such as CFPP locations, population densities and trade-offs between reductions of total Hg (THg) and Hg2+. Due to its capability of solving decision-making problems involving multiple entities and objectives, as well as complex action sequences, game theory has been a basic mathematical tool of economists, politicians, and sociologists for decades. It helps them understand how strategic interactions impact rational decisions of individual players in competitive and uncertain environment, if each player aims to get the best payoff. This situation is ubiquitous in engineering practices. This paper streamlines the foundations of engineering game theory, which uses concepts, theories and methodologies to guide the resolution of engineering design, operation, and control problems in a more canonical and systematic way. An overview of its application in smart grid technologies and power systems related topics is presented, and intriguing research directions are also envisioned.

The future power system will be the integration of multiple energy systems, cyber-physical system, and multiple markets. This paper presents an architecture of energy-discretized multi-energy microgrids. This architecture can achieve the point-to-point (P2P)transmission of discrete energy with the physical system level, which solves the problem of energy flow tracking and measurement. In this architecture, the real-time transaction-and-control-combined mechanism can ensure the dynamic and fully customized energy supply. This paper draws the architecture of a new generation of energy supply system, and may provide an idea for the integration of energy, information, and value in energy supply system. © 2017 IEEE.

Under the situations of energy crisis around the world, Energy Internet has become the focus of international academic and industrial areas. In this paper, comprehensive reviews and prospects were made based on the background and current research status of Energy Internet. Moreover, the core concept, basic structure, and operation mode of Energy Internet were introduced and discussed. Finally, constructive solutions to the current problems were proposed with the demonstration project of Energy Internet that is the Beijing New Aerotropolis, which draws the future of the Energy Internet. © 2017 IEEE.

Degradation state assessment of bearing is an important part of prognostic and health management (PHM) in rotating machinery. Generally, the energy distribution of frequency band is sensitive to degradation state for rolling bearing. Hence, a novel assessment method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and energy distribution is proposed in this work. Firstly, the VMD is used to decompose raw vibration signal into several components with different scales and frequency bands. These components is capable of reflecting the local characteristic of vibration signal. Then, the energy distribution of these components is utilized as feature vector. Finally, the different bearing states can be classified by the scatter plots of the first several principal components after principal component analysis (PCA). The analysis of an experimental dataset demonstrates the effectiveness of this methods. The comparative analysis shows the VMD is superior to traditional empirical mode decomposition (EMD) methods. © 2017 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Due to the development of the energy interconnection, smart distribution networks (SDNs) should needs be transformed and upgraded to meet new demands. In order to assess the SDN planning, a new index system was conducted from the five attributes. The quantitative methods of all criteria were also defined. An evaluation model was proposed based on AHP weighting and TOPSIS methods. Empirical analysis was performed to verify the feasibility of the evaluation system.

The health of rolling bearing plays an important part in the operation of rotating machinery like gas turbine engine. Health monitoring and fault diagnosis of rolling bearings based on vibration signals have been through great development these years. But when sensors are set on the casing instead of the bearing pedestal, and the surrounding structure is very complex, the diagnosis problem becomes much more complicated, which brings more challenges to the signal processing. In this paper, a set of signal processing methods are used to enhance and extract the impact features from casing vibration signals, and to realize the detection of rolling bearing faults. Aself-adaptive decomposition method called intrinsic time-scale decomposition (ITD) is applied to decompose the vibration signal into a series of proper rotation components and a monotonic trend, helping to extract dynamic features of the signal. Teager-Kaiser energy operator is a simple algorithm calculating the energy of a signal and is very sensitive to transient impact faults. As the fault feature transmitted to the casing is relatively week, autoregressive model (AR) and minimum entropy deconvolution (MED) are to enhance the non-stationary impact components. Experiments are taken on the rotor-bearing-casing test rig with minor defects in themain shaft bearing. Testing on the casing vibration signal, this fault feature enhancing and extracting method shows its remarkable ability in rolling bearing fault diagnosis.
