First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere and deep thanks to our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Meng Chu Zhou, who took over my position after I was drafted for rejuvenating IEEE Transactions on Computational Social systems in 2017. During the past five years, Meng Chu’s professional leadership and dedication has transformed IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica(JAS) from its infancy to a young and high-impact publication in the world that is full of vitality and actively engaged by a group of talented and charged associate Ei Cs and editors, which is clearly demonstrated in Meng Chu’s farewell editorial [1]. I am very glad that Professor Qing-Long Han, an influential and leading scientist of the world-class in AI, control, automation, and intelligent science and technology from Australia, as well as a staunch supporter and great leader of this journal from its beginning, will take over the Ei C torch from Meng Chu next year, since I am extremely confident that our journal will reach a new high for its service and quality under his new leadership.

Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft has gained significant attention as a basic element of urban air mobility (UAM), a potential solution for urban transportation challenges using low-altitude urban airspace. Ensuring the safe operation of eVTOL is crucial for UAM applications, which are related to various professional fields such as aerodynamics, control, structures, and power systems. This article systematically analyzes the characteristics of different design configurations, including multi-rotor, lift+cruise, and tilt-rotor types of eVTOL. The advantages and limitations of each type of eVTOL are analyzed. After that, the overall design problems are analyzed, and challenges of eVTOL control system design are discussed from aspects of overall control structure and subsystems, such as controller, sensors, actuators, and command generator. This article tries to fill the gap in the eVTOL design from a control perspective and provides some resolutions for the eVTOL application. IEEE

For many decades,acid deposition used to pose a significant regional air pollution challenge in *** substantial emission control of anthropogenically derived sulfur and nitrogen containing gasses,both sulfur and nitrogen deposition,as well as the acid rain-affected area,have significantly decreased compared to their peak ***,particularly in the humid subtropics,are sensitive to acid deposition,as evidenced by soil acidification,sulfate and nitrate leaching in stream water,and elevated soil nitrous oxide *** in the total deposition of sulfur and nitrogen,caused a significant decline in sulfate and nitrate leaching from subtropical forest and subsequently in sulfate and nitrate concentrations in stream water,although there was about a 5-year *** delay may be attributed to the desorption of accumulated sulfate and continued elevated mineralization of accumulated nitrogen *** of nitrous oxide,a potent greenhouse gas,also declined in nitrogen-saturated subtropical forest soils,as soil water nitrate concentration ***,subtropical forests in China suffering from elevated acid deposition have begun to ***,the current levels of sulfur and nitrogen deposition continue to exceed the critical loads,i.e.,the assigned threshold levels in accordance with emission control policies,in more than 10%of the country’s land area,respectively,indicating remaining risks of acidification and ***,further emission reductions are urgently needed,also because they will help achieving goals related to air quality and nitrous oxide emissions.

Recently, there have been some attempts of Transformer in 3D point cloud classification. In order to reduce computations, most existing methods focus on local spatial attention,but ignore their content and fail to establish relationships between distant but relevant points. To overcome the limitation of local spatial attention, we propose a point content-based Transformer architecture, called PointConT for short. It exploits the locality of points in the feature space(content-based), which clusters the sampled points with similar features into the same class and computes the self-attention within each class, thus enabling an effective trade-off between capturing long-range dependencies and computational complexity. We further introduce an inception feature aggregator for point cloud classification, which uses parallel structures to aggregate high-frequency and low-frequency information in each branch separately. Extensive experiments show that our PointConT model achieves a remarkable performance on point cloud shape classification. Especially, our method exhibits 90.3% Top-1 accuracy on the hardest setting of ScanObjectN N. Source code of this paper is available at https://***/yahuiliu99/PointC onT.
