Sewage treatment processes are considered an important source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, particularly N2O and CH4. In rural sewage treatment processes, GHG emissions are often neglected owing to the small scale of treatment and dispersed distribution. In this study the non-CO2 GHG emission quantity, spatiotemporal distribution characteristics, and influences factors were analyzed based on rural sewage from 2015 to 2020. Emissions from rural sewage treatment in 2020 were 122.72 Gg (CO2-eq), comprising 69.81 Gg N2O and 52.91 Gg CH4, an increase of 35.29%. There are large variations between province-level regions: more GHG was emitted from the eastern than the north-west of China. The treatment of rural domestic sewage can simultaneously purify water quality and decrease GHG emissions, and the improvement in the rate of treatment is beneficial to, ‘carbon peak and carbon neutralization’. GHG emissions from rural sewage treatment showed a positive correlation with both GDP and sewage discharge, and N2O was positively correlated with protein consumption per capita. This study would provide a theoretical basis for policy formulation, as it supplies basic data on carbon emissions for China's rural sewage treatment. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The accurate estimation of the remaining charge time(RCT)is essential in a battery management system(BMS),because it guarantees the safety and dependability of the power battery systems of new energy ***,the direct estimation of RCT is challenging because of the variability of actual charging scenarios and the complex charging process,which complicates the estimation of RCT in actual ***,this paper proposes an estimation framework based on deep learning for multi-scenario charging data to estimate the remaining charging *** an in-depth analysis of multi-scenario charging data,the RCT of the charging process is estimated using the temporal convolutional network(TCN)model,which has a strong generalization ***,a dynamic learning rate(DLR)mechanism and an early stopping strategy(ES)are designed in the TCN model(DLR-ES TCN)for the nonlinear characteristics of the battery system to balance the relationship between model convergence speed and ***,compared with the traditional TCN model and four common deep learning models under three different scenarios,the experimental results show the mean absolute percentage error(MAPE)of the proposed method is less than 2%,indicating better accuracy and *** research can improve the safety monitoring of power batteries when applied to various target domains.

Generating 2-Hydroxyl Quinoline from Quinoline Through a Single Mono-Oxygenation by Delftia Lacustris

Quinoline and its derivatives are typical nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds with biological and pharmaceutical activities. 2-hydroxyl quinoline (2-HQ), a representative derivative, currently is synthesized through chemical methods that have high energy consumption and secondary-pollution risks. In this work, 2-HQ was generated from quinoline by a strain of Delftia lacustris that was isolated from quinoline-acclimated sludge. D. lacustris carried out only one step mono-oxygenation of quinoline, which transformed it into 2-HQ. 2-HQ was not further transformed unless quinoline disappeared completely. When succinate was added as an exogenous electron donor, quinoline transformation was significantly accelerated, which supports that 2-HQ was product of quinoline mono-oxygenation requiring an intracellular electron donor. The medium after reaction was evaporated to obtain a crystallized powder, which corresponded to a standard sample of 2-HQ according to Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) analyses. Genomic and transcriptomic analyses confirmed the presence and expression of FAD-dependent mono-oxygenase and FMNH2-dependent alkanesulfonate monooxygenase in D. lacustris. As the economic value of 2-HQ is more than five-thousand-fold higher than quinoline in the Chinese market, these results open the door for a promising new path for green biosynthesis, which is also as new way of cleaner production for 2-HQ. © 2024, The Authors. Intrinsic equilibrium of stably autorotating samaras

During descent, a single-winged maple seed (samara) can naturally reach a delicate equilibrium state, stable autorotation, before landing. This article reveals the intrinsic equilibrium of a particular type of samaras in terms of measurable aerodynamic and geometric parameters. To this end, we conducted a series of in situ measurements for the rate of vertical descent (exclusive of crosswind) of an autorotating samara in a natural range of samara sizes and masses. We then extended the range of size and mass by introducing artificial samaras, with discrete mass elements purposely designed to approximate the asymmetrical and nonuniform distribution of mass found with natural samaras. Based on the widened range, a fundamental nondimensional correlation of dynamic pressure and disc loading was generalized, where all stable autorotation descent profiles collapse to a single descent characteristic curve, irrespective of the size and mass of the natural and artificial samara's specimens. Results reveal that for stably autorotating (both natural and artificial) samaras, their terminal descent velocity (expressed as dynamic pressure) and disc loading attained equilibrium at a value that is inversely proportional to the coefficient of lift.

Influence and sensitivity analysis of thermal parameters on temperature field distribution of active thermal insulated roadway in high temperature mine

To study active heat insulation roadway in high temperature mines,the typical high temperature roadway of−965 m in Zhujidong Coal Mine of Anhui,China,is selected as *** ANSYS numerical simulation method is used for sensitivity analysis of heat insulation layer with different thermal conductivity and thickness,as well as surrounding rock with different thermal conductivity and temperature on a heat-adjusting zone radius,surrounding rock temperature field and wall *** results show that the heat-adjusting zone radius will entirely be in the right power index relationship to the ventilation *** in thermal conductivity and increase in thickness of insulation layer can effectively reduce the disturbance of airflow on the surrounding rock temperature,hence,beneficial for decreasing wall *** favourable trend significantly decreases with ventilation time,increase in thermal conductivity and temperature of surrounding rock,heat-adjusting zone radius,surrounding rock temperature field,and wall *** analysis shows that the thermal physical properties of surrounding rock determine the temperature distribution of the roadway,hence,temperature of surrounding rock is considered as the most sensitive factor of all influencing *** the spray layer,thermal conductivity is more sensitive,compared to *** is concluded that increase in the spray layer thickness is not as beneficial as using low thermal conductivity insulation ***,roadway preferential consideration should be given to the rocks with low temperature and thermal *** application of the insulation layer has positive significance for the thermal environment control in mine roadway,however,increase in the layer thickness without restriction has a limited effect on the thermal insulation.

The electrocatalytic removal of ammonia nitrogen (NH4+-N) in wastewater is a promising technology for water treatment, but the high cost and limited catalytic efficiency of traditional electrodes present challenges. This study introduces a novel iron-nickel composite oxide electrode (FeNiO/GP) supported on graphite, achieving breakthrough performance in NH4+-N wastewater remediation. It exhibited dual enhancement in chlorine evolution reaction (CER) selectivity and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) suppression, as evidenced by an exceptional 0.212 V potential gap between OER (1.48 V) and CER (1.27 V). Through systematic optimization, the electrode demonstrates unparalleled removal efficiencies of 99.56 % NH4⁺-N and 92.09 % TN within 40 min under controlled conditions, maintaining robust performance (88.68 % NH4⁺-N, 70.52 % TN removal) in real industrial wastewater. Mechanistic investigations reveal a self-sustaining chlorine cycle, where in-situ generated active chlorine species drive ammonia oxidation. This work establishes a new paradigm for non-precious metal electrocatalysts in sustainable wastewater treatment, achieving high reaction kinetics with low energy consumption. The FeNiO/GP electrode is an effective and low-cost solution for ammonia nitrogen removal, offering significant potential for practical wastewater treatment applications. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Accurate tracking of position and velocity is a critical problem to be solved for the automatic train operation (ATO) system. However, achieving automatic operation for high-speed trains (HSTs) is difficult due to unknown disturbances and actuator faults. This paper uses an improved disturbance observer-based control (IDOBC) strategy to solve this issue. Each carriage is considered a particle and connected by a flexible coupler to establish the multiple point-mass model for HSTs by considering unknown lumped disturbances and actuator faults. For the lumped disturbances caused by the external environment, an improved disturbance observer is designed to compensate for the impact caused by this component on HSTs. Based on the given linear matrix inequality, the HSTs system satisfies the $H_{\infty}$ performance under the IDOBC strategy. Compared with traditional DOBC, the proposed IDOBC has higher tracking accuracy.

Aiming at the problem that Distributed Optical Fiber Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system will misjudge external intrusion signals, an intrusion signal discrimination method based on MFCC-Energy entropy feature and FTO-SVM is proposed. Firstly, the former 13-dimensional Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) is extracted from the collected sound signal, and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to reduce the dimension of MFCC;Secondly, the energy entropy of the collected sound signal is calculated, which fused with the reduced MFCC as the feature parameter of the collected sound signal;Finally, the extracted feature parameters are discriminated by using Support Vector Machine (SVM) with the hyperparameters optimized by the Fibonacci Tree Optimization (FTO) algorithm. The results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the system discrimination accuracy for intrusion signals, and is of great significance to perimeter security and fault diagnosis and other related fields. © 2022 SPIE.

Reclaimed water has been widely applied in irrigation and industrial *** the behavior of emerging contaminants in the production process of reclaimed water is the first prerequisite for developing relevant water quality *** study investigated 43 emerging contaminants,including 22 pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCPs),11 organophosphorus flame retardants(OPFRs),and 10 antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in 3 reclaimed wastewater treatment plants(RWTPs)in *** composition profiles and removal efficiencies of these contaminants in RWTPs were *** results indicated that the distribution characteristics of the different types of contaminants in the three RWTPs were ***,sul2 and tris(1-chloro-2-propyl)phosphate were the dominant substances in the wastewater,and their highest concentrations were 27104 ng/L,1.4×10^(7) copies/mL and 262 ng/L,*** and sul2 were observed to be the dominant substances in the sludge,and their highest concentrations were 5419 ng/g and 3.7×10^(8) copies/g,***/anoxic/oxic system combined with the membrane bioreactor process achieved a relatively high aqueous removal of PPCPs(87%).ARGs and OPFRs were challenging to remove,with average removal rates of 6.5%and 31%,*** meta-analysis indicated that tertiary treatment processes performed better in emerging contaminant removal than secondary *** exhibited the highest mass load discharge,with 33.5 mg/d per 1000 *** and tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate posed high risks(risk quotient>1.0)to aquatic *** study provides essential evidence to screen high priority pollutants and develop corresponding standard in RWTPs.

The Vocs Sorption Properties Over Zsm-5 Zeolites with Different Thicknesses Along the B-Axis

ZSM-5 zeolites with different thicknesses along the b-axis were synthesized successfully to study the toluene and dichloromethane sorption properties. For toluene adsorption performance, the reduction in diffusion limitation is vital, and the ZSM-5 nanosheets with a thickness of about 30 nm along the b-axis resulted in a 1.3 times enhancement of toluene adsorption performance compared to the conventional ZSM-5 zeolite due to the enhanced toluene diffusion rate. For dichloromethane with a diameter smaller than micropores of ZSM-5, adsorption performance depends only on the amount of micropores. Toluene and methylene chloride are adsorbed on a type of adsorption site in ZSM-5 zeolite, and the interaction strength is positively correlated with the adsorption performance. For adsorption kinetics, the pseudo-first-order model matches the experimental data better. The findings may provide valuable information on zeolite-based adsorbents for adsorption removal of volatile organic compounds. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
