Blockchain-Assisted Fine-Grained Deduplication and Integrity Auditing for Outsourced Large-Scale Data in Cloud Storage

Cloud computing has emerged as a promising mode for storaging vast quantities of big data, which is vulnerable to potential security threats, making it urgent to ensure data confidentiality and integrity auditing. In addition, as a large number of duplicate data files exist in cloud storage, data deduplication is significant to improve storage efficiency. In this article, we propose a blockchain-assisted fine-grained deduplication and integrity auditing scheme for outsourced large-scale data in cloud storage, achieving internal deduplication and cross-user external deduplication for ciphertexts and authentication tags. By constructing sparse summation ciphertext tree, the scheme implements Proofs of Ownership protocol through vector commitment, and guarantees the retrieval of distributed deduplication data blocks by designing the reconstruction matrix and bloom filter. The scheme exploits blockchain and smart contracts to ensure transparent integrity auditing without a third-party auditor (TPA), thereby avoiding malicious auditing biases. Security analysis and performance evaluation demonstrate the feasibility of the scheme for deploying in cloud storage systems. © 2014 IEEE.

With the rapid growth of video data, video summarization is a promising approach to shorten a lengthy video into a compact version. Although supervised summarization approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance, they require frame-level annotated labels. Such an annotation process is time-consuming and tedious. In this article, we propose a novel deep summarization framework named Deep Semantic and Attentive Network for Video Summarization (DSAVS) that can select the most semantically representative summary by minimizing the distance between video representation and text representation without any frame-level labels. Another challenge associated with video summarization tasks mainly originates from the difficulty of considering temporal information over a long time. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) performs well for temporal dependencies modeling but does not work well with long video clips. Therefore, we introduce a self-attention mechanism into our summarization framework to capture the long-range temporal dependencies among the frames. Extensive experiments on two popular benchmark datasets, i.e., SumMe and TVSum, show that our proposed framework outperforms other state-of-the-art unsupervised approaches and even most supervised methods. © 2022 Association for Computing Machinery.

Few-shot semantic segmentation (FSS) aims to locate pixels of unseen classes with clues from a few labeled samples. Recently, thanks to profound prior knowledge, diffusion models have been expanded to achieve FSS tasks. However, due to probabilistic noising and denoising processes, it is difficult for them to maintain spatial relationships between inputs and outputs, leading to inaccurate segmentation masks. To address this issue, we propose a Diffusion-based Segmentation network (DiffSeg), which decouples probabilistic denoising and segmentation processes. Specifically, DiffSeg leverages attention maps extracted from a pretrained diffusion model as support-query interaction information to guide segmentation, which mitigates the impact of probabilistic processes while benefiting from rich prior knowledge of diffusion models. In the segmentation stage, we present a Perceptual Attention Module (PAM), where two cross-attention mechanisms capture semantic information of support-query interaction and spatial information produced by the pretrained diffusion model. Furthermore, a self-attention mechanism within PAM ensures a balanced dependence for segmentation, thus preventing inconsistencies between the aforementioned semantic and spatial information. Additionally, considering the uncertainty inherent in the generation process of diffusion models, we equip DiffSeg with a Spatial Control Module (SCM), which models spatial structural information of query images to control boundaries of attention maps, thus aligning the spatial location between knowledge representation and query images. Experiments on PASCAL-5i and COCO datasets show that DiffSeg achieves new state-of-the-art performance with remarkable advantages. © 2024 ACM.

It is novel to apply three-dimensional(3D)light field imaging technology to recognize two-dimensional(2D)fake *** this paper,we propose a parallel support vector machine(SVM)method based on 3D light field imaging(light field camera)and machine learning techniques.A light field(LF)camera with robust sensors,which is able to record rich 3D information,is used as hardware *** of oriented gradient(HOG)feature extraction algorithm and SVM classification method are used to recognize the real and 2D fake pedestrians ***,we carry out an experiment on our improved LF pedestrian *** experimental results of parameter optimization study show that in the case of 400 training samples(200 positive samples and 200 negative samples),120 to 420 testing samples,and an HOG cellsize as 8×8,the best recognition accuracy with polynomial kernel function is improved by more than 2%compared with the previous *** best accuracy is 99.17%.Otherwise,the recognition accuracy of more than 98.00%will be obtained even under other experimental conditions.

In traditional centralized machine learning, transmitting raw data to a cloud center incurs high communication costs and raises privacy concerns. This is particularly challenging in mobile edge environments, where devices are dynamic and resource-constrained. Federated Learning (FL) addresses these issues by allowing devices to train models locally and upload parameters to a central server without sharing local data. However, limited wireless channel resources and dynamic transmission performance make communication overhead a major bottleneck of FL in mobile edge environments. Concerning this challenge, this survey provides a comprehensive summary of methods to improve communication efficiency in FL, focusing on: 1) minimizing communication complexity to reduce total transmission volume, 2) scheduling resources appropriately to improve training efficiency, 3) utilizing over-the-air computation (OTA) to integrate computation into communication for accommodating the computation/communication characteristics of FL in mobile edge environments. Thus, this work analyzes research from the perspective of convergence and data heterogeneity to reduce communication rounds by optimizing algorithm performance. We hope that this survey could offer insights into communication-efficient FL for future research. © 2025 IEEE.

Opponent exploitation is an important task for players to exploit the weaknesses of others in games. Existing approaches mainly focus on balancing between exploitation and exploitability but are often vulnerable to modeling errors and deceptive adversaries. To address this problem, our paper offers a novel perspective on the safety of opponent exploitation, named Adaptation Safety. This concept leverages the insight that strategies, even those not explicitly aimed at opponent exploitation, may inherently be exploitable due to computational complexities, rendering traditional safety overly rigorous. In contrast, adaptation safety requires that the strategy should not be more exploitable than it would be in scenarios where opponent exploitation is not considered. Building on such adaptation safety, we further propose an Opponent eXploitation Search (OX-Search) framework by incorporating real-time search techniques for efficient online opponent exploitation. Moreover, we provide theoretical analyses to show the adaptation safety and robust exploitation of OX-Search, even with inaccurate opponent models. Empirical evaluations in popular poker games demonstrate OX-Search's superiority in both exploitability and exploitation compared to previous methods. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

People counting tracks the number of people entering or exiting any given space in real-time, which helps make intelligent business decisions and improve quality of service (QoS) for a range of commercial applications, e.g., retail analytics, queue management, and occupancy monitoring. Existing CV-based and CSI-based solutions suffer from problems ranging from blind zones and privacy breaches to low robustness and complicated system calibration. In this paper, we propose a new solution to the counting problem with carry-on RFID tags. The basic idea behind the curtain is that when a person is under an RFID reader's coverage zone, his/her carry-on tags can be read by this reader at the same time. We can classify the tags based on the records of reading profiles. Hence, this problem can be boiled down to a clustering problem. To achieve this goal, we build a feature vector for each tag by gathering its reading profile, specify the distance between two feature vectors by combining the Hausdorff distance and the Euclidean distance, and perform a maximum density clustering algorithm to get the distributions of each tag. Afterward, we design an outlier detection algorithm to screen out the cluster centers from the non-cluster ones. The number of cluster centers is treated as the number of people. We implement the RFID-based counting model in a commodity RFID system. Extensive experimental results show that our approach is superior to existing solutions under different scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.

Compared with convolutional neural network(CNN),Transformer can obtain global receptive field features more effectively and has recently achieved great success in natural language processing and computer *** to the particularity of steganography,however,almost all existing steganalytic networks just employ CNN with local receptive fields to detect embedding *** this paper,we propose a novel convolutional Transformer network for color image ***,we firstly obtain various image residuals for each color channel of an input image in the pre-processing *** capture more comprehensive steganalytic features,the truncated residuals after channel concatenation will pass through a feature extraction module composed of a CNN group and a Transformer *** CNN group aims to extract local receptive fields features,while the Transformer group with multi-head self-attention as the key tries to extract global steganalytic ***,we employ a global covariance pooling(GCP)and two fully-connected(FC)layers with dropout for *** comparative experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can significantly improve the detection performances in color image steganalysis and achieve state-of-the-art *** the proposed method is originally designed for color images,it can also obtain competitive results for grayscale images compared with the current best *** addition,we provide numerous ablation studies to verify the rationality of the proposed network architecture.

This study proposes a laboratory intelligent facial recognition system based on improved CNN, which significantly improves the accuracy of facial recognition by optimising the portrait recognition algorithm, improving CNN calculation and large parameter scale, and utilising perspective projection to improve portrait effect and sample utilisation. The experimental results show that the recognition rate has been improved by 10%, the CPU usage rate is less than 100%, and the model parameters have been reduced by more than 95%. This system can effectively and accurately recognise faces, making it suitable for embedded facial recognition devices. Copyright © 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Offline reinforcement learning (RL) has been shown to be successfully modeled as a sequence modeling problem, drawing inspiration from the success of Transformers. Offline RL is often limited by the quality of the offline dataset, so offline-to-online RL is a more realistic setting. Online decision transformer (ODT) is an effective and representative sequence modeling-based offline-to-online RL method. Despite its effectiveness, ODT still suffers from the sample inefficiency problem during the online fine-tuning phase. This sample inefficiency problem arises because the agent treats all state-action pairs in the replay buffer equally when trying to learn from the replay buffer. In this paper, we propose a simple yet effective method, called weighting online decision transformer with episodic memory (WODTEM), to improve sample efficiency. We first attempt to introduce an episodic memory (EM) mechanism into the sequence modeling-based RL methods. By utilizing the EM mechanism, we propose a novel training objective with a weighting function, based on ODT, to improve sample efficiency. Experimental results on multiple tasks show that WODTEM can improve sample efficiency.
