A micro sensor chip of High-field Asymmetric Waveform Ion Mobility Spectrometry(FAIMS) was designed and fabricated by inductively coupled plasma(ICP) etching on the both sides of silicon and double silicon-glass bonding,with dimensions of 18.8 mm×12.4 mm×*** sample ions were created at ambient pressure by VUV lamp ion source,which was equipped with a 10.6 eV photo discharge lamp(λ=116.5 nm).The 2-pentanone was adopted to illustrate the influences of high-field rectangular asymmetric waveform voltage amplitude,frequency and carrier gas flow rate on the performance of FAIMS sensor *** experiment results showed that with the frequency or carrier gas flow rate increasing,or voltage amplitude decreasing,the FAIMS sensitivity increases,and that the resolution decreases with the increasing of the frequency or flow *** FAIMS simulation results based on the SIMION software was in agreement with the experimental *** FAIMS detection sensitivity experiment showed that the FAIMS sensor chip can detect positive and negative ions simultaneously,and has detection sensitivity as low as 0.1 ppm for acetic acid.

This paper proposes a robust control scheme that prevents an autonomous 4WS4WD vehicle from lane departure and wheel skidding in presence of road curvature and aerodynamic drag. The control objectives can be specified as various closed-loop specifications, such as lane keeping, wheel slip constraint and disturbance attenuation. An LMI approach is used to deal with these objectives simultaneously, which combines the quadratic stabilization technique with constraints on inputs. Simulation results show that the proposed controller effectively limits the combined wheel slip and improves the lane keeping performance.

The large volume principle proposed by Vladimir Vapnik, which advocates that hypotheses lying in an equivalence class with a larger volume are more preferable, is a useful alternative to the large margin principle. In this paper, we introduce a clustering model based on the large volume principle called maximum volume clustering (MVC), and propose two algorithms to solve it approximately: a soft-label and a hard-labelMVC algorithms based on sequential quadratic programming and semi-definite programming, respectively. Our MVC model includes spectral clustering and maximum margin clustering as special cases, and is substantially more general. We also establish the finite sample stability and an error bound for soft-label MVC method. Experiments show that the proposed MVC approach compares favorably with state-of-the-art clustering algorithms. Copyright 2011 by the authors.
