Graphical User Interface (GUI) has become one of the most significant parts of mobile applications (apps). It is a direct bridge between mobile apps and end users, which directly affects the end user’s experience. Neglecting GUI quality can undermine the value and effectiveness of the entire mobile app solution. Significant research efforts have been devoted to GUI testing, one effective method to ensure mobile app quality. By conducting rigorous GUI testing, developers can ensure that the visual and interactive elements of the mobile apps not only meet functional requirements but also provide a seamless and user-friendly experience. However, traditional solutions, relying on the source code or layout files, have met challenges in both effectiveness and efficiency due to the gap between what is obtained and what app GUI actually presents. Vision-based mobile app GUI testing approaches emerged with the development of computer vision technologies and have achieved promising progress. In this survey paper, we provide a comprehensive investigation of the state-of-the-art techniques on 271 papers, among which 92 are vision-based studies. This survey covers different topics of GUI testing, like GUI test generation, GUI test record & replay, GUI testing framework, etc. Specifically, the research emphasis of this survey is placed mostly on how vision-based techniques outperform traditional solutions and have gradually taken a vital place in the GUI testing field. Based on the investigation of existing studies, we outline the challenges and opportunities of (vision-based) mobile app GUI testing and propose promising research directions with the combination of emerging techniques. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

In recent years, fueled by the breakthroughs in the technology in quantum computation, there has been a rising interest in the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era. In addition to a large number of qubits, the study of error correction and quantum algorithms has made great progress. However, as a primary goal of quantum computation, making practicable quantum computers in the NISQ era still needs further study, mainly focusing on quantum computer organization, architecture, and circuit synthesis. This paper studies the quantum circuit synthesis in a small-scale universal quantum computing device called a "quantum system-on-chip"(QSoC). We analyze the quantum compilation of the hybrid architecture for a small-scaled universal quantum computational device with a specific size (quantum chip). Drug-Drug Interaction (DDI) task plays a crucial role in clinical treatment and drug development. Recently, deep learning methods have been successfully applied for DDI prediction. However, training deep learning models always need large amount of data, while known DDIs are scarce. To address this challenge, a graph neural network-based DDI prediction model named PNESR-DDI is proposed, which compensates for the lack of DDIs by enriching drug representations. First, to obtain initial node representations that incorporate rich semantic information from the biomedical knowledge graph (KG), a link prediction pre-training method on external KG is proposed in the node embedding pre-training module. Then, considering the large scale of the KG, subgraph extraction for the target drug pairs is introduced to reduce noise and decrease computational complexity in the subgraph anchoring module. After that, the subgraph is updated, and node similarities are propagated in the subgraph reconstruction module. Based on the node similarity scores, the subgraph is pruned and reconstructed, which adjusts node representations to be more conducive to DDI prediction. Finally, the drug embeddings, subgraph representations, and drug fingerprint features are concatenated to predict DDIs. PNESRDDI is evaluated on two benchmark DDI datasets: DrugBank and TWOSIDES. Experiment results show that PNESR-DDI achieves better performance than baselines. Ablation results validate the effectiveness of the pre-training method and the adaptive subgraph reconstruction strategy.

Bug localization is the task of recommending source code locations (typically files) that probably contain the cause of a bug and hence need to be changed to fix the bug. Along these lines, information retrieval-based bug localization (IRBL) approaches have been adopted, which identify the most bug-prone files from the source code space. In current practice, a series of state-of-the-art IRBL techniques leverage the combination of different components, e.g., similar reports, version history, code structure, to achieve better performance. ABLoTS is a recently proposed approach with the core component, TraceScore, that utilizes requirements and traceability information between different issue reports, i.e., feature requests and bug reports, to identify buggy source code snippets with promising results. To evaluate the accuracy of these results and obtain additional insights into the practical applicability of ABLoTS, supporting of future more efficient and rapid replication and comparison, we conducted a replication study of this approach with the original data set and also on an extended data set. The extended data set includes 16 more projects comprising 25,893 bug reports and corresponding source code commits. While we find that the TraceScore component as the core of ABLoTS produces comparable results with the extended data set, we also find that the ABLoTS approach no longer achieves promising results, due to an overlooked side effect of incorrectly choosing a cut-off date that led to training data leaking into test data with significant effects on performance.

Personal digital data is a critical asset, and governments worldwide have enforced laws and regulations to protect data privacy. Data users have been endowed with the 'right to be forgotten' of their data. In the course of machine learning (ML), the forgotten right requires a model provider to delete user data and its subsequent impact on ML models upon user requests. Machine unlearning emerges to address this, which has garnered ever-increasing attention from both industry and academia. While the area has developed rapidly, there is a lack of comprehensive surveys to capture the latest advancements. Recognizing this shortage, we conduct an extensive exploration to map the landscape of machine unlearning including the (fine-grained) taxonomy of unlearning algorithms under centralized and distributed settings, debate on approximate unlearning, verification and evaluation metrics, challenges and solutions for unlearning under different applications, as well as attacks targeting machine unlearning. With the substantial improvement of people’s living standards, the amount of domestic garbage is increasing rapidly, and intelligent waste classification has become an urgent need in modern society. In this paper, we propose a real-time garbage detection model based on the improved YOLOv5 (you only look once version 5) algorithm. Firstly, mosaic data enhancement is introduced to enrich the background of the detection object and improve the robustness of the network. Secondly, Distance-IOU Non-Maximum Suppression is used to replace the traditional Non-Maximum Suppression to improve the suppression effect of prediction boxes. Finally, the network is further optimized from the aspect of activation function. The experimental results show that among the four versions of YOLOv5, their mean average precision(mAP) all reach more than 84%, The improved YOLOv5x has the best recognition effect, whose mAP reaches 89.4%, which is 2.1% higher than that of YOLOv5x and 5.3% higher than that of YOLOv5s. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Smart contracts are programs that run on a blockchain, where Ethereum is one of the most popular ones supporting them. Due to the fact that they are immutable, it is essential to design smart contracts bug-free before they are deployed. However, various defects have been found in the deployed smart contracts, causing huge economic losses and lowing people's trust. Writing secure smart contracts is far from trivial, where developers tend to engage in reliable resources or social coding platforms to reuse code. This leads to a large number of similar contracts with potential security risks. Therefore, detecting similarity of smart contracts helps to avoid vulnerabilities, identify threats, and improve the security of Ethereum. In this paper, we design a learning-effective and cost-efficient model, called SmartSD, for Ethereum smart contract similarity detection. Different from the current research efforts, SmartSD is performed on a bytecode level and leverages deep neural networks to learn the latent representations from the opcode sequences for smart contract bytecodes, where the representation learning and similarity measurement are supervised via siamese neural networks. The experimental evaluations demonstrate that SmartSD outperforms EClone's 93.27% accuracy, achieving 98.37% high detection accuracy and 0.9850 F1-score, which is computationally tractable and effectively mitigates the interference caused by compilers. © 2022 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) holds a record of high incidence and severe global harm. In tasks of liver cancer segmentation based on 3D medical images, the majority of methods have endeavored to enhance the 3D U-net by integrating the latest modules from the field of computer Vision (such as the transformer), often overlooking the distinct characteristics of liver components. We introduced a novel deep learning architecture, Modif-SegUnet, to circumvent this limitation. This architecture extends the U-net model by incorporating a 3D-modifiable attention module, thereby fostering a heightened focus on distinguishing between normal liver sections and lesions. Furthermore, Modif-SegUnet ingeniously amalgamates the 3D-modifiable attention module with the Modif-transformer block, enabling efficient capture of relevant and valuable full-text information in CT images that contain liver or tumor regions. We subjected the proposed Modif-SegUnet to evaluation on the Liver Tumor Segmentation benchmark dataset. Experimental outcomes indicate that our methodology surpasses state-of-the-art approaches in liver tumor segmentation, suggesting potential pathways for advancing the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer.

With the ongoing advancements in science and technology and the increasing research focus on cancer-related issues, there has been a proliferation of omics-related resources for in-depth analysis and exploration. This burgeoning volume and complexity of biological data have fostered the integration of machine-learning techniques into biology. As a result, numerous machine-learning strategies have been established to identify driver mutations. Yet, many of these strategies produce complex models, complicating comprehension and thereby clouding the impact of input features on the resulting predictions. Our analysis presented the CIXG framework, which integrates a driver gene prediction module using XGBoost with a causality interpretation module anchored on CXPlain. This architecture enables quantifying each input feature’s contribution to the prediction outcome and ensures precise predictions of driver genes. When benchmarked against the state-of-the-art (SOTA) method, CIXG demonstrated superior accuracy in pinpointing driver genes across pan-cancer studies and within the 32 specific cancer types. Importantly, our results underscored that mutation features chiefly influence CIXG’s predictive prowess, with additional support from other omics features.

The core of recommendation models is estimating the probability that a user will like an item based on historical interactions. Existing collaborative filtering(CF) algorithms compute the likelihood by utilizing simple relationships between objects, e.g., user-item, item-item, or user-user. They always rely on a single type of object-object relationship, ignoring other useful relationship information in data. In this paper, we model an interaction between user and item as an edge and propose a novel CF framework, called learnable edge collaborative filtering(LECF). LECF predicts the existence probability of an edge based on the connections among edges and is able to capture the complex relationship in data. Specifically, we first adopt the concept of line graph where each node represents an interaction edge; then calculate a weighted sum of similarity between the query edge and the observed edges(i.e., historical interactions) that are selected from the neighborhood of query edge in the line graph for a recommendation. In addition, we design an efficient propagation algorithm to speed up the training and inference of LECF. Extensive experiments on four public datasets demonstrate LECF can achieve better performance than the state-of-the-art methods.
