In this paper, we review the recent trends in parallel search and artificial intelligence (AI) applications using emerging non-volatile ternary content addressable memory (TCAM). Firstly, the principle and development of four typical emerging memory used to implement the non-volatile TCAM are discussed. Then, we analyze the principle and challenges of SRAM-based TCAM and non-volatile TCAM for the parallel search. Finally, the research trends and challenges of non-volatile TCAM used for AI application are presented, which include computer-science oriented and neuroscience oriented computing.

Sharing the hardware platform between diverse information systems to establish full cooperation among different functionalities has attracted substantial ***,broadband multifunctional integrated systems with large operating frequency ranges are challenging due to the bandwidth and computing speed restrictions of electronic ***,we report an analog parallel processor(APP)based on the silicon photonic platform that directly discretizes and parallelizes the broadband signal in the analog *** APP first discretizes the signal with the optical frequency comb and then adopts optical dynamic phase interference to reassign the analog signal into 2N parallel *** photonic analog parallelism,data rate and data volume in each sequence are simultaneously compressed,which mitigates the requirement on each parallel computing ***,the fusion of the outputs from each computing core is equivalent to directly processing broadband *** the proof-of-concept experiment,two-channel analog parallel processing of broadband radar signals and high-speed communication signals is implemented on the single photonic integrated *** bandwidth of broadband radar signal is 6 GHz and the range resolution of 2.69 cm is *** wireless communication rate of 8 Gbit/s is also *** the bandwidth and speed limitations of the single-computing core along with further exploring the multichannel potential of this architecture,we anticipate that the proposed APP will accelerate the development of powerful optoelectronic processors as critical support for applications such as satellite networks and intelligent driving.

This paper studies a multi-static integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) system for multi-user downlink communications and cooperative target sensing, where the base station transmits ISAC signal and the users deployed at different positions receive it. We analyze the joint estimation of transmission delay and Doppler shift of cooperative users for target sensing, and derive the corresponding Cramér-Rao bound (CRB) in closed form. Then, a CRB minimization problem is formulated by considering the cooperative cost and communication rate requirements among these users. To solve this problem, we propose a minimax linkage-based cooperative method for user selection, and then design an approximation non-convex transforming algorithm for transmit beamforming. Finally, simulation results validate our analysis and reveal significant performance improvement of our proposed methods over the state-of-the-art benchmarks. © 2024 IEEE.

Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) is enjoying a surge in research interest due to the remarkable potential to reduce response delay and alleviate bandwidth pressure. Facing the ever-growing service applications in VEC, how to effectively aggregate and flexibly schedule ubiquitous network resources for implementing diverse tasks and meeting differentiated demands from numerous vehicular users remains haunting. Toward this end, we investigate collaborative task computing and on-demand resource allocation. The collaborative computing framework in VEC is provided to support deep collaboration and intelligent management of heterogeneous resources widely distributed in vehicles, edge servers and cloud. Based on this framework, the joint optimization problem of distributed task offloading and multi-resource management is formulated with the aim to maximize the system utility by making the optimal task and resource scheduling policy, the novelty of which lies in the exploration of available vehicle resources and the consideration of service migration. In view of the dynamics, randomness and time-variant of vehicular networks, the asynchronous deep reinforcement algorithm is leveraged to find the optimal solution. Extensive simulation experiments are implemented to demonstrate the superiority of our proposed algorithm in terms of response latency compared with full offloading and random offloading. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

The recent development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) technology has been envisioned as a promising paradigm to cater for the growing maritime activities. However, the increasing growth of marine services poses challenges for processing maritime data. In this paper, we propose a surface computing paradigm in maritime networks, in which multi-Task sensed by UAVs can be offloaded to multiple beacon stations. Multiple UAVs can process their workloads locally or offload to surface computing. Taking the system welfare and energy consumption into consideration, we present an optimization problem to determine the selection of beacon stations and the offloading decision, with the objective of maximizing the system welfare. We propose a hybrid auction and convex optimization approach to address the formulated problem. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms compared to several baselines. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a high noise efficiency readout circuit for multi-channel bio-signal acquisition. The prototype is implemented in a 65 nm CMOS LP process, which achieves a power consumption of 2.06 $\mu$W/channel, a noise efficiency factor (NEF) of1.48, a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 105 dB at 50 Hz, and a crosstalk of -65dB by employing these new techniques, including 1) the use of single-ended amplifiers as the unit of low noise amplifier (LNA) for lower NEF, 2) single-end chopping techniques for single-ended amplifiers for suppressing low-frequency noise and offset, 3) digital-assisted DC servo loop (DDSL) for fast settling.

Because of rapid growth of multimedia data over the Internet, the infobesity has been emerging in recent years. Many recommender systems (RSs) have been proposed using a variety of techniques, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistical analysis, and data mining. Nowadays, E-commerce companies such as Amazon, eBay, Netflix, etc. have applied RSs conveniently to provide better customer services than before by enabling customized multimedia-content recommendations. It is well known that classical RSs are almost all based on the user-item attribute matrices. However, this two-fold user-item relationship should be extended to the emerging many-fold relationship among an arbitrary number of attribute groups so that the corresponding new RSs may lead to better performances. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a novel personalized multimedia recommender system (PMRS) according to our proposed new parallel higher-order tensor singular-value-decomposition (PHOTSVD) algorithm. This PHOTSVD algorithm is capable of accommodating an arbitrary number of entities such as social-media channels, users, queries, webpages, etc. in a robust RS. Furthermore, we also investigate the cold start and data bias problems critical to RSs. Finally, we compare the performances of our proposed new PMRS and three other existing tensor-based RSs over realworld data with respect to the well-adopted metric, namely normalized root-mean-square error (NRMSE). Our proposed new PMRS greatly outperforms the other three existing tensor-based RSs in terms of NRMSE. © 1963-12012 IEEE.
