Synchronization is one of the key techniques for OFDM systems and it is of importance to implement synchronization quickly and reliably in practical OFDM systems. In this paper, we implement the synchronization method on TI C55X DSP platform for OFDM-based trunking communication system with FDD scheme, and mainly focus on the tradeoff between accuracy and complexity by combining linear interpolation and look-up table method in order to satisfy the requirement of practical application. Numerical results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Pilot-symbol-aided channel estimation (PSACE) method is mostly employed to acquire channel state information in wireless communication systems. By exploiting the coherent sparsity of the fading channels, compressive sensing (CS) based channel estimation method can greatly decrease the pilot overhead burden. In this paper, we propose CS-based channel estimation method for MIMO-OFDM systems over frequency-selective fading channel. Based on the MIMO-OFDM channel model, we firstly prove the restricted isometry property (RIP) of the measurements by discrete partial Fourier transform (PFT)-based PSACE method, and then estimate the MIMO-OFDM channel by orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) method. Simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms conventional least square (LS) method and greatly decrease the pilot overhead burden.

The results show that the thermal stability of the Cu/RuC/TaN/Si structure is better than that of the Cu/Ru/TaN/Si structure. A flush TaN layer can improve the thermal stability of RuC film and make it a more robust diffusion barrier for Cu metallization.

An eighth order active-RC filter for low-IF and zero-IF DVB tuner applications is presented, which is implemented in Butterworth biquad structure. An automatic frequency tuning circuit is introduced to compensate the cut-off frequency variation using a 6-bit switched-capacitor array. Switched-resistor arrays are adopted to cover different cut-off frequencies in low-IF and zero-IF modes. Measurement results show that precise cut-off frequencies at 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4 MHz in zero-IF mode, 5, 6, 7 and 8 MHz in low-IF mode can be achieved, 60 dB frequency attenuation can be obtained at 20 MHz, and the in-band group delay agrees well with the simulation. Two-tone testing shows the in-band IM3 achieves -52 dB and the out-band IM3 achieves -55 dB with -11 dBm input power. This proposed filter circuit, fabricated in a SMIC 0.18μm CMOS process, consumes 4 mA current with 1.8 V power supply.

Currently, 200 mm wafer foundry companies are beginning to explore production feasibility under ground rules smaller than 0.11 μm while maintain the cost advantages of KrF exposure tool systems. The kl factor under 0.11 μm at 248 nm illumination will be below 0.35, which means the process complexity is comparable with 65 nm at 193 nm illumination. In this paper, we present our initial study in the CD process window, mask error factor and CD through pitch performance at the 0.09 μm ground rule for three critical layers--gate poly, metal and contact. The wafer data in the process window and optical proximity will be analyzed. Based on the result, it is shown that the KrF tool is fully capable of sub 0.11 μm node mass production.

Software as a Service (SaaS) 1.0 signifcantly lowers the infrastructure and maintenance cost and increases the accessibility of the software by hosting software via the web. Compared with SaaS 1.0, SaaS 2.0 is more flexible since it leverages software tools from both server and client sides with closer interaction between them. The SaaS 2.0 paradigm provides new opportunities and challenges for EDA. In this paper, we take Boolean matching, one of the core sub algorithms in logic synthesis for field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), as a case study. We investigate the advantages and challenges of implementing a scalable EDA algorithm under SaaS 2.0 paradigm from a technical perspective. We propose SaaS-BM, a new Boolean matching algorithm customized to take full advantage of the cloud while addressing concerns such as security and the internet bandwidth limit. Extensive experiments are performed under a networked environment with concurrent accesses. Integrated into a post-mapping re-synthesis algorithm minimizing area, the proposed SaaS-BM is 863X times faster than state-of-the-art SAT-based Boolean matching with 0.5% area overhead. Compared with a recent Bloom Filter-based Boolean matching algorithm, our proposed SaaS-BM is 53X times faster on large circuits with no area overhead.
