The intricate interactions between substantial line impedance and diverse integration techniques have resulted in a strong coupling among PV inverters, imposing a significant challenge to achieve the independent and efficient voltage/power regulation for PV units. To tackle the challenges, this paper presents a novel approach to decouple distributed PV units connected to a distribution network via different interconnection methods. Firstly, an equivalent line impedance derivation method is proposed to streamline the complex coupled distribution network into a unified "PV unit - line impedance - grid"structure while preserving the node information. Then, a "Line Impedance Equivalent Coefficient (LEC)"is defined to capture the evolving characteristics of the equivalent line impedance. Moreover, by treating the chain structure as a special radial form, the proposed method handles diverse network structures with a minimal computational complexity. Simulation results from Matlab/Simulink demonstrate the effectiveness of this method in decoupling radial, chain and hybrid networks. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning-enhanced NIR-II fluorescence volumetric microscopy for dynamic 3D vascular imaging

Three-dimensional (3D) visualization of dynamic biological processes in deep tissue remains challenging due to the trade-off between temporal resolution and imaging depth. Here, we present a novel near-infrared-II (NIR-II, 900–1880nm) fluorescence volumetric microscopic imaging method that combines an electrically tunable lens (ETL) with deep learning approaches for rapid 3D imaging. The technology achieves volumetric imaging at 4.2 frames per second (fps) across a 200 μm depth range in live mouse brain vasculature. Two specialized neural networks are utilized: a scale-recurrent network (SRN) for image enhancement and a cerebral vessel interpolation (CVI) network that enables 16-fold axial upsampling. The SRN, trained on two-photon fluorescence microscopic data, improves both lateral and axial resolution of NIR-II fluorescence wide-field microscopic images. The CVI network, adapted from video interpolation techniques, generates intermediate frames between acquired axial planes, resulting in smooth and continuous 3D vessel reconstructions. Using this integrated system, we visualize and quantify blood flow dynamics in individual vessels and are capable of measuring blood velocity at different depths. This approach maintains high lateral resolution while achieving rapid volumetric imaging, and is particularly suitable for studying dynamic vascular processes in deep tissue. Our method demonstrates the potential of combining optical engineering with artificial intelligence to advance biological imaging capabilities.

Recently, photovoltaic (PV) systems have been leveraged to emulate inertia for the frequency support utilizing their DC capacitors. This approach, however, can deviate the single-stage PV arrays from the maximum power point (MPP), leading to a reduced and time-varying virtual inertia. To accurately estimate the inertia of single-stage PV systems, a method based on the frequency response model and equivalent synchronous generator (SG) is proposed in this paper. The results demonstrate that the inertia of a single-stage PV system, when relying exclusively on conventionally designed DC capacitors, tends to approach zero and demands for enhancement in scenarios requiring frequency support. Finally, all analyses are verified through simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. © 2024 IEEE.

Grid-connected wind turbines for frequency support of the grid is conducive to improving the grid frequency security level. Grid-following (GFL) converters and gridforming (GFM) converters are two important types of equipment to support renewable energy integration into the grid. Both GFM and GFL have a variety of different control strategies when performing frequency support. Clarifying the relationship be-tween different strategies of GFM and GFL when performing frequency support will provide guidance for renewable energy frequency support. In this paper, four levels of frequency support uniformity are first established at the generation unit level. (1) The governor and damping branch of the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control based GFM converter are unified. (2) The VSG based GFM and the droop based GFM are unified. (3) Integrated inertial control based GFL and droop based GFL are unified. Finally, the theoretical analysis is synthetically verified by MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform. © 2024 IEEE.

Transient Synchronous Stability Analysis and Assessment of PLL-Based VSC Systems by Bifurcation Theory

For the transient synchronous stability of phase-locked loop based voltage source converter grid-tied systems, the generalized swing equation (GSE) is believed as very important. In this paper, the GSE is studied deeply by bifurcation theory. For instance, the co-dimension-2 Bogdanov-Takens (BT) bifurcation is rigorously analyzed, and the formulations for three co-dimension-1 bifurcations near the BT bifurcation point including the generalized saddle-node, Hopf, and homoclinic bifurcations are explicitly obtained. Moreover, all Hopf bifurcations in the GSE have been theoretically proven to be subcritical by the normal form method. Therefore, after the Hopf and homoclinic bifurcations, two different types of basin of attraction occur widely including a closed loop surrounded by an unstable limit cycle and a fish- like pattern surrounded by the stable manifold of unstable equilibrium point (UEP), respectively. In addition, for the transient synchronous stability assessment after the homoclinic bifurcation, based on the linear approximation of the stable manifold of the UEP, an index for the distance between the stable equilibrium point and the approximated stability boundary is formulated. All these theoretical results are well verified and supported by numerical calculations and real-time simulations, making all previous phenomenal observations of the GSE stand on the solid foundation of rigorous mathematics. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Metalized film capacitors (MFC) are widely used in many fields such as electromagnetic emission. In some irradiated operating scenarios, MFC are inevitably subjected to gamma irradiation, which affects their operational reliability. When a pulsed capacitor is discharged, the discharge circuit will oscillate due to the influence of inductance and resistance in the load. At this time, the capacitor will be affected by the reverse voltage, which seriously affects its lifetime. In this paper, the lifetime performance of metallized polypropylene film capacitors (MPPFC) under different irradiation cumulative doses from 0kGy to 1000kGy is investigated by lifetime experiments with two types of discharge reverse peak factors of 70% and 10%. The experimental results show that the lifetime of MPPFC with two kinds of discharge reverse peak factors have the tendency of increasing and then decreasing, but there is a difference in the trend of the MPPFC lifetime between the two groups of experiments. The theoretical analysis shows that the space charge effect after γ irradiation is the reason for the first increase and then decrease of the MPPFC lifetime, while the difference of the electric field distortion during the discharge process is the reason for the different trends of the MPPFC lifetime at different reverse peak factors after γ irradiation. © 2024 Eindhoven University of technology.

Solid-state batteries(SSBs) with high safety are promising for the energy fields,but the development has long been limited by machinability and interfacial ***,self-supporting,flexible Nano LLZO CSEs are prepared with a solvent-free method at 25℃.The 99.8 wt% contents of Nano LLZO particles enable the Nano LLZO CSEs to maintain good thermal stability while exhibiting a wide electrochemical window of 5.0 V and a high Li~+ transfer number of *** mean modulus reaches 4376 *** from the interfacial modulation,the Li|Li symmetric batteries based on the Nano LLZO CSEs show benign stability with lithium at the current densities of 0.1 mA cm^(-2),0.2 mA cm^(-2),and 0.5 mA cm^(-2).In addition,the Li|LiFePO_(4)(LFP) SSBs achieve favorable cycling performance:the specific capacity reaches128.1 mAh g^(-1) at 0.5 C rate,with a capacity retention of about 80% after 600 *** the further tests of the LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811) cathodes with higher energy density,the Nano LLZO CSEs also demonstrate good compatibility:the specific capacities of NCM811-based SSBs reach 177.9 mAh g^(-1) at 0.5 C rate,while the capacity retention is over 96% after 150 ***,the Li|LFP soft-pack SSBs verify the safety characteristics and the potential for application,which have a desirable prospect.

Cold atmospheric plasma(CAP)driven by pulsed high-voltage power has specific advantages in various fields,such as the growth promotion of edible fungi in plasma *** with other strains,Ganoderma lucidum has the significant advantage of high medicinal value,but the shortcomings of low yield,long growth cycle,and an uneven market *** this study,Ganoderma lucidum was treated with a CAP powered by a homemade pulsed highvoltage power *** groups of Ganoderma lucidum were treated under different *** stalk lengths and pileus areas of Ganoderma lucidum were recorded to evaluate growth *** showed that treatment frequency affected growth status *** lucidum was treated with 40 s plasma once a week and showed an improved growth status with a 33.63%increase in average stalk length and a 28%increase in the number of individuals whose pileus areas was greater than the ***,the growth speed was ***,treatment at an excessive frequency would damage and slow down the growth of Ganoderma lucidum.

Utilizing the flexible reactive power regulation capability of PV inverters for voltage support is proved to be an effective solution to voltage fluctuation and violation, which however can induce control of instability. To address this issue, this paper focuses on the dq-frame admittance modeling of three-phase grid-tied inverters with volt-var control, which behaves as a multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) system. It is found that the volt-var control can reshape the q-d channel output admittance in the low-frequency range and increase the risk of oscillation instability. To explore its mechanism, the MIMO model is transformed into a single-input-single (SISO) model from Iqd to Ud. Applying the impedance-based stability criterion, this paper analyzes in detail the effect of volt-var control, grid-following (GFL) control and the grid impedance on the system stability. Finally, simulations and semi-physical experiments results validate the above analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Analytical analysis of hollow CORC cable under thermo-mechanical loads

According to engineering experience,the axial shrinkage caused by the refrigerant seriously endangers the performance of long‐distance conductor on round core(CORC)*** outage maintenance of high‐temperature superconducting(HTS)cables is inevitable,providing appropriate compensation for cyclic temperature is one of the key technologies in the actual application of power ***,this paper presents an analytical solution for hollow CORC cables under thermo‐mechanical ***,regarded as an axisymmetric composite structure,the radial temperature distribution of CORC cable under Dirichlet boundary or mixed boundary conditions was ***,assuming cable ends were axially fixed,a recursive method without variables is used to evaluate its displacement,strains,and ***,an algebraic method with axial strain as a variable is developed to analyze the mechanical behavior of the CORC cable more ***,concluded from the above derivation,a matrix equation is constructed based on continuity equations and boundary conditions,which applies to isotropic and orthotropic materials with *** results show that the analytical solution agrees with finite element method(FEM)*** to the trial results of a 360 m CORC cable,the calculation error of axial shrinkage is within 1.63 cm,and the relative error is within 6.1%.In addition,the recursive method is the fastest to calculate axial strain,while the matrix method has a significant efficiency advantage in calculating the stresses and strains of each layer.
