The prediction of transformer oil temperature is a time series prediction task, which is of great significance for the maintenance of substation equipment. In the process of multivariate prediction, not all variables are strongly correlated with the prediction of the transformer oil temperature. This paper proposes a transformer oil temperature prediction method based on Feature Selection and Smooth Residual blocks, named FSSR. A two-stage feature selection method is applied to select the related features. Residual connection is applied to convolutional neural network in smooth residual blocks. Experimental study is performed on the ETTh1 and ETTh2 datasets. With different number of selected features, the best one can reduce the average MSE (mean squared error) by at least 20% than the worst one. Compared to the baseline models, FSSR has the best accuracy. Compared with LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory network), the average MSE of FSSR decreased by 27.62% on the ETTh1 dataset, and 39.34% on the ETTh2 dataset.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity and mechanism of CeO_(2) hollow spheres for tetracycline degradation

Recently, researchers have focused on designing and fabricating highly efficient catalysts for photocatalytic organic pollutant removal. Herein, CeO_(2) hollow spheres were prepared through a simple template method followed by calcination at different temperatures for the tetracycline(TC) degradation under simulated solar light illumination. With a calcination temperature ranging from400 to 800 ℃, the as-prepared CeO_(2) hollow structure annealed at 600 ℃(C_(600)) exhibited the best degradation performance with a degradation rate constant of0.066 min-1, which was about six and five times higher than those of the uncalcined sample(C_(0)) and the sample calcined at 800 ℃(C_(800)), respectively. Moreover, sample C_(600)was also superior to the CeO_(2) solid particle photocatalyst. The characterisation results showed that the improved photocatalytic performance was mainly ascribed to the synergistic effect of large specific surface areas, high crystallisation and excellent light scattering ability. Furthermore, the results of active species trapping experiments demonstrated that the superoxide anion(·O_(2)^(-)) radical and hole(h^(+)) played dominant roles in TC degradation. Subsequently, the possible TC degradation pathways and photocatalytic mechanism of CeO_(2) hollow spheres were proposed on the basis of high-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis, main active species and band edge positions of CeO_(2). The results of this study provide a basis for designing and exploring hollow structure catalysts for energy conversion and environmental remediation.

Synergistic photoelectrocatalytic degradation of tetracycline using a novel Z-scheme Zn0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4/SiNWs heterostructure: Towards sustainable antibiotic remediation

Photoelectrocatalytic technology (PEC) is an emerging green and sustainable technology for treating antibiotic wastewater. However, its effectiveness is limited by the recombination of photogenerated carriers. To address this issue, the Fenton reaction, an advanced oxidation process, can be coupled with PEC technology to enhance the oxidative degradation of antibiotic wastewater. This research involved creating a Zn 0.5 Ni 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 /silicon nanowires (SiNWs) Z-type heterojunction through the spin coating technique, which was then utilized in the PEC coupled Fenton reaction to break down antibiotic wastewater. The inherent electric field and the voltage applied hastened the segregation of e − and h + within the system. These advantages make the Zn 0.5 Ni 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 /SiNWs heterojunction highly efficient in removing various antibiotics, including tetracycline (TC), ciprofloxacin (CIP), amoxicillin (AMX), and levofloxacin (LVX). In particular, the Zn 0.5 Ni 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 /SiNWs heterojunction demonstrated an 82.21% degradation efficiency for TC, exhibiting a kinetic constant ( k ) of 0.02688 min −1 , a rate 2.82 times (4.80 times) greater than that of SiNWs. Experimental findings reveal that Zn 0.5 Ni 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 /SiNWs exhibit superior light absorption properties and a reduced rate of photogenerated charge recombination. The doping of Zn 0.5 Ni 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 effectively improves the catalytic performance of SiNWs. This research offers fresh insights into researching PEC-coupled Fenton reaction methods for the degradation of antibiotics and paves the way for advancing the creation of more potent photoelectrochemical catalysts in the future.

Biocarbon with different microstructures derived from corn husks and their potassium storage properties

In this paper,biocarbon was prepared from corn husks as anode materials for potassium ion batteries at temperatures ranging from 700 to 1600℃.The prepared biocarbon materials have amorphous phase structure and possess larger interlayer spacing than *** biocarbon exhibits enhanced graphitic degree and decreased amounts of surface defects,while the carbonization temperature gradually *** obtained potassium ion battery electrode at 1300℃ acquired high reversible capacity up to 216.6 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1) after 100 cycles, and retained 128.6 mAh·g^(-1) at 1 A·g^(-1) even after500 *** results indicate that the samples prepared at 1300℃ have better electrochemical performance than other samples prepared at different temperatures,which was attributed to the decisive influence of microstructure on surface-induced and intercalating potassium storage.

A Refined Model of Lithium Battery Considering Agglomerated Active Material and Non-Uniform Graphite Particle

This study presents a refined lithium-ion battery model based on the Newman model, incorporating agglomerate structures in the positive electrode and non-uniform particle size distribution in the negative electrode. The agglomerates in the positive region consist of nano-scale primary particles, pore spaces, and binders, while the negative region features a random distribution of particle sizes. The model employs the volume averaging method and integrates a thermal model to provide a comprehensive simulation framework. Numerical computation results demonstrate that the proposed model predicts a significantly higher discharge capacity compared to the traditional P2D model. This improvement is primarily due to the increased diffusion distance in agglomerates and the non-uniform particle sizes, which result in substantial changes in overpotential, electrolyte concentration, and solid-phase lithium-ion distribution. The model effectively captures the complex electrochemical behavior during discharge, underscoring the importance of considering structural heterogeneities in battery modeling. © 2024, The Authors. With the development of gyrotron traveling wave amplifier, long-range high-resolution millimeterwave (MMW) imaging broadband radar has been developed rapidly. Nyquist theorem brings challenges to wideband radar signal sampling, and the hardware complexity and cost of the required equipment will increase significantly. Compression sensing (CS) takes advantage of the sparsity of the signal in the transformation domain. Under the condition that it is far less than Nyquist sampling rate, it uses random sampling to obtain discrete samples of the signal, and then perfectly reconstructs the signal through nonlinear reconstruction algorithm. This paper proposes a linear majorization sparsity adaptive matching pursuit (LMSAMP) algorithm based on CS theory. The LMSAMP algorithm with adaptive optimization step size selection is used to reconstructed two-dimensional image of wideband MMW radar. The imaging results show that LMSAMP algorithm has a good imaging effect.

Existing commercial pacemakers only provide single-chamber pacing and cannot achieve multi-chamber sequential pacing. Conduction Intracardiac Communication(CIC) has the characteristics of low power consumption and high security, which is very suitable for communication between multi-chamber leadless pacemakers. Because the pacemaker needs to be implanted into the heart, which limits its volume, power consumption, and other related parameters, and the super-regenerative circuit has its low power consumption and simple circuit structure, the super-regenerative receiver scheme is a good choice for intracardial communication where power consumption is the main problem. In this paper, a prototype super-regenerative receiver suitable for intracardiac communication is proposed. The differential instrument amplifier with high input impedance is used to filter out the external electromagnetic interference, reduce the input equivalent noise, and improve the signal-to-noise ratio. A super-regenerative oscillator and a filter amplifier circuit are designed to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of the communication. The experimental results show that the bit error rate of the circuit is lower than 1 × 10-5 for the received signal of -92 dBm. © 2023 IEEE.

Microstructure Evolution and Growth Kinetics of Cu6sn5 Intermetallic Compound at Liquid-Solid Interfaces in Cu/Sn/Cu Interconnects Under Ultrasonic Waves

The microstructure evolution and growth kinetics of Cu6Sn5 intermetallic compound (IMC) in a Cu/Sn/Cu interconnection structure during the ultrasonic-assisted transient liquid phase (TLP) soldering process were investigated. Being different from the symmetrical growth during isothermal aging without ultrasonic waves (USW), highly asymmetrical growth of Cu6Sn5 at the upper and lower Sn/Cu interfaces was observed with USW. Cu6Sn5 grains exhibited scallop-type morphology, and were discrete at the upper interface;while that at the lower Sn/Cu interface exhibited column-type morphology, and were conterminous at the lower interface. USW caused the mass migration of Cu atoms from the upper Cu surface toward the lower interface, resulting in sufficient Cu atomic ﬂux for the fast formation of Cu6Sn5 at the lower interface, and many cavitation pits on the upper Cu surface. A growth model was established to explain the growth kinetics of the Cu6Sn5 IMC, indicating a reaction-controlled growth mechanism. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
