Interaction mechanism between BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) refractory and Ti_(2)Ni alloy melts

The titanium alloys with highly chemical activity require stable crucible refractories that can withstand the erosion of alloy *** phase composition and microstructure are crucial factors that affect the stability of the refractory *** effect of Y_(2)O_(3) on the composition and microstructure of BaZrO_(3) crucible was systematically investigated,and the improved mechanism of the stability of BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was clarified in comparison with the BaZrO_(3) *** results showed that the erosion layer thickness of the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was only 63μm,which was far less than that in the BaZrO_(3) crucible(485μm),and the erosion layer in the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible also exhibited a higher density than that in the BaZrO_(3) *** the sintering,Y_(2)O_(3) could improve the densification of the BaZrO_(3) crucible due to the solid solution effect between Y_(2)O_(3) and ZrO_(2),which also caused the evaporation of BaO,resulting in the generation of a Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))film on the surface of the ***,the Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))had higher thermodynamic stability than Y_(2)O_(3),confirming that the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible with high density exhibited a superior erosion resistance to titanium *** dual-phase structure provides a strategy to design a long-life and stable refractory for melting titanium alloys.

Ceramic materials have obvious advantages in thermal stability,but impedance mismatch limits their ability to attenuate electromagnetic(EM)***,a novel series of high-entropy(V_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)X_(0.2))B_(2)(X=Mo,Ti,and Hf)ceramics were successfully synthesized via ultrafast high-temperature sintering(UHS)apparatus based on joule *** results indicated that the effect of high-entropy component on the magnetic loss of the system was relatively small,but the effect on the dielectric loss was *** them,the(V_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)Ti_(0.2))B_(2)(HEB-Ti)sample demonstrated superior absorbing properties due to relatively moderate dielectric loss and optimal EM impedance ***,because of its relatively moderate attenuation constant,it could achieve the maximum penetration of the EM wave and the minimum reflection after absorbing *** a result,the minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))was as low as−40.7 dB,and the effective absorption band covered the entire low-frequency range from 2 to 8 *** excellent absorption performance was mainly due to the synergistic effect of various dielectric attenuation mechanisms,including defect polarization,dipole polarization,and conduction ***,thermogravimetric(TG)analysis showed that the sample exhibited excellent thermal stability and could withstand temperatures up to 550℃in air and 1000℃in an argon gas *** relevant work could provide meaningful references for the design of new high-performance ceramic wave-absorbing materials.

Improving aircraft nose wheel steering stability based on control continuation method

Aircraft steering instability during the taxiing process sometimes occurs resulting from the unstable bifurcation phenomena of the nonlinear steering dynamic system,which may lead to severe *** this study,the control parameter design of an aircraft nose wheel steering control system based on the control continuation method is proposed to reduce the number of unstable bifurcation points and enlarge the system stable region area in a certain parameter ***,the aircraft turning performance can be improved ***,a nonlinear aircraft rollout dynamic model is constructed,and the aircraft ground steering bifurcation characteristics are obtained under the open-loop steering control ***,the bifurcation performances under three closed-loop nose wheel steering controllers based on the feedback control method are compared,and the control parameter of the quadratic nonlinear controller with a better bifurcation control effect is selected as a second bifurcation parameter to analyze the directional system stability via two-parameter bifurcation ***,the influence of a crosswind on the aircraft ground steering bifurcation performance is studied for various control parameter ***,the control effects of a traditional proportional-integral-derivative(PID)nose wheel steering control law and the designed feedback controller are compared and ***,a semi-physical experiment of the aircraft nose wheel steering system is carried out,and different control parameter values are selected for test verification,which can further verify the control effect of the designed nonlinear feedback *** results indicate that the feedback control method is unable to vary the system bifurcation types,but appropriate control parameter design can effectively shrink the system instability region and even eliminate the unstable Hopf bifurcation points under some specific working conditions,improving the aircraft ground turning stability re

On the complete weight distributions of quantum error-correcting codes

In a recent paper, Hu et al. defined the complete weight distributions of quantum codes and proved the Mac Williams identities, and as applications they showed how such weight distributions may be used to obtain the singleton-type and hamming-type bounds for asymmetric quantum codes. In this paper we extend their study much further and obtain several new results concerning the complete weight distributions of quantum codes and applications. In particular, we provide a new proof of the Mac Williams identities of the complete weight distributions of quantum codes. We obtain new information about the weight distributions of quantum MDS codes and the double weight distribution of asymmetric quantum MDS codes. We get new identities involving the complete weight distributions of two different quantum codes. We estimate the complete weight distributions of quantum codes under special conditions and show that quantum BCH codes by the Hermitian construction from primitive, narrow-sense BCH codes satisfy these conditions and hence these estimate applies.

The superior ballistic performance of highly stretchable and flexible double-face knitted fabrics(DFKF):An experimental investigation

When the protective and protected systems are detached,the former can be allowed to absorb the kinetic energy of the impacting projectile through large deformation without considering the back face signature of the *** paper presents a novel double-face knitted fabric(DFKF)designed for this very impacting *** tests equipped with high-speed camera were used to characterize the ballistic performance with the impact velocities ranging from 100 m/s to 450 m/*** results showed that the ballistic limits(V_(bl))of DFKF are approximately triple and double that of its counterpart UD and plain fabrics,*** mass-normalized metrics,the specific energy absorption(SEA)is 250%and 350%greater than the UD and plain fabrics at their corresponding V_(bl)*** quasi-static tests showed that the DFKF displayed greater resilience,crease recovery properties,and flexibility,which also made it an especially better candidate than UD and plain weaves for the design of umbrella surface *** was also found that DFKF is dependent on yarn count and the incorporation of spandex.A prototype anti-ballistic umbrella is manufactured using DFKF made of 200D multi-filament *** ballistic performance is also sensitive to the impact site when the umbrella is subjected to impact.

Aramid fibers,due to their relatively high inter-yarn friction,high strength,high modulus,and other characteristics,have become a typical representative of flexible anti-ballistic materials in modern *** research on the anti-penetration of aramid fabrics mostly focuses unilaterally on the structure and performance of aramid fabrics or the shape and size of projectiles,with fewer studies on the coupled effect of both on ballistic *** study analyzes how the coupling relationship(or size effect)between the projectile and fiber bundle dimensions affects the fabric ballistic performance from a mesoscopic scale *** plain weave aramid fabric as the research object,considering different diameter projectiles,through a large number of ballistic impact tests and numerical simulations,parameters such as ballistic limit velocity,average energy absorption of fabric,and specific energy absorption ratio(average energy absorption of fabric divided by projectile cross-sectional area)are obtained for ballistic performance *** influence law of projectile size on the ballistic performance of high-performance fabrics is as follows:The relative range of fitted ballistic limit velocity at different target positions gradually decreases and then stabilizes as the projectile diameter increases,indicating that the fabric structure effect gradually disappears at a projectile diameter of 12 mm;The average ballistic limit velocity at three impact positions,P1,P2,and P3,provides the corresponding ballistic limit velocity for 1000D aramid fabric,which increases with projectile diameter but the rate of increase slows down at an inflection point,which in this study occurs where the fabric structure effect nearly disappears at a projectile diameter of 12 mm;The energy absorption ratio increases and then decreases as the projectile diameter increases from 4 mm to 20 mm,reaching a peak at the diameter of 12 mm due to the gradual disappearance of the fabri
