The original vibration signal of circuit breaker contains a lot of noise, which seriously affects the extraction of signal characteristics and the judgment of the state of circuit breaker. Therefore, noise elimination is the premise of fault diagnosis of circuit breaker. In order to reduce the disturbance of noise to the circuit breaker vibration signal to the greatest extent, this paper proposes a denoising method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and wavelet transform. Firstly, wavelet transform is used to decompose and reconstruct the vibration signal of the circuit breaker. Then VMD decomposition was performed on the vibration signals after initial de-noising, and the effective intrinsic mode function (IMF) components were determined by the correlation coefficient criterion and reconstructed to obtain the final de-noising signal. By combining the advantages of wavelet transform and VMD, this algorithm is applied to the vibration case of circuit breaker, which can eliminate the noise and retain the useful information in the vibration signal to a great extent, and improve the precision of signal decomposition, and the result is better than the traditional signal denoising method.

Four-bundle down conductor is prone to additional torsion in the installation process of it, which may affect the safety and stability of the end of bushing. In this paper, the down conductor of the main transformer bushing is taken as the research object, and ABAQUS as the platform. A fined finite element model is established to analyze the mechanical influence of the twisting method and twisting angle of the down conductor on the end of main transformer bushing. The results suggest that the stress of the bushing terminal and the terminal board increases non-linearly with the increase of the down conductor around its centerline or overall torsion; When the torsion angle is greater than 5°, the stress of the parts increases greatly, and the torsion angle should be controlled. The results of this paper lay the foundation for further optimizing the installation method of the main transformer bushing and improving the installation accuracy during the construction installation process.

Vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs) are commonly used to switch shunt reactive power equipment in distribution networks. There are many stochastic factors in the switching process of the VCBs, which results in a statistical distribution of the switching overvoltage under a large number of switching operations. The parameters of the traditional circuit breaker models are usually fixed, so it is difficult to evaluate and track the overvoltage risk under daily switching. In order to solve this problem, considering multi stochastic factors in the switching process, a 10kV circuit breaker switching model modified based on measured data is established in MATLAB. Using the modeling method proposed in this paper, the model parameters can be constantly corrected by the measured data to improve the accuracy of the simulation results. Finally, it can be used to track and analysis the risks of switching overvoltage.

With the increasing grade of high voltage transmission lines, the frequent occurrence of corona discharge has brought great potential safety risk and power losses to power system. Therefore, the detection of corona discharge in transmission lines is of great significance to power system. Rectangular spiral antenna is widely used because of its smooth impedance and better circular polarization characteristics. In this paper, a planar rectangular spiral antenna is designed for the detection of radio frequency electromagnetic waves given out corona discharge of transmission lines. The basic structure of the antenna is determined by optimizing the length, spacing and turns of coil. The feasibility of the antenna is verified by experiments. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. As a non-intrusive measurement method, frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS) is widely used to diagnose the global defects (such as aging and dampness) of the insulation body in power equipment. However, the FDS method can only map the holistic dielectric response (DR) characteristics of composite oil-impregnated-paper (OIP) insulation that usually comprises both the insulation paper and oil. Under irregular insulation structure, the DR of each dielectric cannot be simply distinguished, which is unconducive to detect the insulation weakness therein. In this paper, a novel inverse problem model to analyze the separate DR of each dielectric within a compound insulation structure is proposed. Built on the modified Cole-Cole formula, the inverse problem is solved by an optimization process which combines the finite element method and GA-LMA numerical algorithm, and the dielectric variables of insulating oil and paper are back-calculated respectively. By comparing the error of the measured and reconstructed FDS traces, it is evidenced that the proposed model of DR inverse problem and its solution method are suitable for FDS measurements, which signifies new indications for refined state evaluation of OIP insulation by enabling inspecting the separate DR information of each dielectric within a real-life complex insulation structure.

During the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment like power transformers, the information of defects or faults are usually recorded by text data. However, the method of classifying transformer defects by text data relies on manual at present, which is inefficient and uneconomical. This paper presents a recurrent convolutional neural network with Bayesian optimization, which construct a text classification model can automatically classify the power text data. Firstly, the text is preprocessed, including the establishment of the transformer's dictionary, word segmentation of defect text and then mapping the results to word vectors based on distributed representation. Furthermore, training the CNN and RCNN networks by supervised learning. It is worth mentioning that in RCNN network, the Bi-LSTM structure is used instead of the convolutional layer, which can learn the semantics of the text more effectively. In addition, in order to obtaining a better classification effect after training, the Bayesian method is used to optimize the hyper-parameters of the networks. Finally, On the test dataset, two kinds of network achieved 90% test accuracy and 92% test accuracy, respectively.

The state evaluation of power equipment is an important basis for maintenance scheduling. This paper starts from the performance state data of power transformer and aims to study the matrix model and mathematical analysis method that is applicable to the state evaluation parameter system of power equipment in 220 kV substations. Different from the traditional threshold deduction method, this paper is more inclined to propose a closed loop model by finding the correlation among the internal key parameters of the system by reducing the dimension of the state matrix and increasing the dimension of iterations. This paper presents the basic state evaluation parameter system from various aspects which are based on the multi-source information of 220 kV substations. The dimensionality reduction of the matrix is carried out for the criterion matrix of the nature. © 2019 IEEE.

The superconducting current limiter is a key electrical equipment to limit fault current in power system, which can quickly limit short-circuit current in the event of a short-circuit fault. The coordinated matching operation of the superconducting DC current limiter and the high-voltage DC circuit breaker solves the problem that the DC side fault is difficult to clear quickly, and promotes the development of the future multi-terminal DC transmission system and DC networking technology. This paper presents indicators selection and weight calculation for condition evaluation of superconducting fault current limiter. Superconducting fault current limiter theory and structure are given to introduce the current limiter. Then condition monitoring of superconducting fault current limiter was analyzed, which involving state, operating, control parameters. Condition evaluation system of superconducting fault current limiter is obtained, according to condition evaluation principle. Weights of the condition indicators are calculated by improved analytic hierarchy process approach. Also the condition evaluation approach based on fuzzy theory is presented. The proposed approach is of great significance to the operation of the superconducting fault current limiter.

The oil-impregnated-paper (OIP) insulated equipment such as transformer bushings experience the challenge of thermal stress within the insulating medium under operation. Subjected to the operating voltage and load current, the dielectric loss of insulation body and conductive loss of current-carrying components generates heat, which affects the temperature profiles of the bushings. As the operating thermal condition and power loss characteristics of dielectrics are interrelated, which may eventually lead to thermal runaway of the insulation, therefore, it is necessary to fully understand the loss and temperature distribution from the perspective of analyzing the thermal effect of insulation body, so as to provide a theoretical basis for discussing the underlying causes of OIP insulation failure. In this paper, a full-scale electro-thermal coupling simulation model of a condenser type bushing is established. The characteristics of harmonic operating voltages and loading currents, the non-linearly temperature-dependent dielectric and thermal properties, as well as frequency-dependent power loss, are comprehensively considered in a joint analysis using the finite element method with numerical analysis software. The distribution of electric field and temperature field is obtained, and the influence of harmonics and non-linearity on the thermal profiles of bushings are analyzed.

The current tracking control method is an important indicator of the effectiveness of static var generator (SVG) in compensating the ineffective effect. New current control methods are constantly proposed and improved. Deadbeat control has good steady-state performance, but its dynamic response is slow. Combining deadbeat control with PI control can effectively improve the accuracy of reactive power compensation and improve the dynamic response speed of the system. On this basis, simulation modeling and experimental research are carried out. The effectiveness and reliability of the proposed control strategy are verified on the simulation and experimental results. © 2019 IEEE.
