The premise of reliable arc extinguishing performance by current transfer arc extinguishing technology is to accurately identify the fault phase. This paper analyzes the neutral point voltage and the relative ground voltage variation law when single-line-to-ground (SLG) fault occurs, and obtains a SLG fault phase selection method. Then, an improved scheme for the fault-phase misjudgment and anti-phase short circuit of the current transfer arc-extinguishing device is proposed to improve its reliability. Finally, the action flow of the current transfer arc extinguishing device is described. The feasibility of the principle of current transfer arc suppression technology and the rationality of the action flow are verified by simulation analysis. The results show that the current transfer arc extinguishing technology can theoretically achieve the purpose of quickly eliminating the arc grounding fault, and help to improve the power supply reliability of the power distribution system.

The leaked DC current on the grounding pole could cause a huge loss to the power equipment, etc. What's more, the leakage current is difficult to measure directly. However, the current research has not yet had a good measurement of the current in the ground. In order to monitor the distribution of surface current near the grounding pole. Firstly, this paper constructed a calculation model for the distribution law of ground current of the straight-line grounding pole under the monolayer soil model, and the cross-shaped grounding pole under the mixed soil model, then obtained the current density between 0-50A/m 2 . Secondly, design and develop the grounding current distribution measurement system based on electromagnetic induction and wireless communication principle. This system is capable of capturing and measuring weak current in the ground, and it can transmit current data by GSM. Finally, the grounding environment simulation platform was built and the practicality of the measurement system was measured and verified.

Building is one of the main parts of energy consumption. To evaluate the energy efficiency of the increasingly popularizing electric power alteration system for buildings, as well as analyze the influence of building set temperature on energy efficiency, we proposed a model of energy efficiency analysis for building energy supply system based on air-source heat pump, and introduced its computation method. First, a model of electric heating system for buildings based on air-source heat pump is proposed. Next, the energy efficiency index for building electric power alteration system is defined. Finally, typical cases are built to study the impact of the setting-point indoor temperature on the energy efficiency of the system. © 2018 IEEE.

With the rapid development of motor drive system, motor drivers with more compact and higher power density design are needed for applications with limited board space. However, the high power density design can lead to heat dissipation, which may decrease the reliability of motor driver. In order to analyze the heat dissipation of high power density motor driver, firstly, the simplified topology of high power density motor drive system is established. Secondly, based the simplified high power density motor drive system, the power loss model of heat source is carried out. Finally, thermal simulation is conducted based on theoretical analysis. The simulations are presented to verify the correctness of theoretical analysis and lay theoretical foundation for analysis of heat dissipation in high power density motor driver. © 2019 by International Academic Publishers Ltd.

In response to the application and requirements of all things seamless interconnection, International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has put forward a new generation of standard 802.11 ah, working in Sub-1GHz frequencies, achieving low power consumption and larger wireless local area network coverage. It improves the performance of Wi-Fi which easily affected by the building block, transmission distance and coverage. The new features of 802.11ah makes it more suitable for use in the smart grid. Intelligent substation adopts advanced, reliable, integrated and environment-friendly intelligent equipment. It supports grid real-time controlling, smart adjustment, online analysis and decision-making, collaboration and interaction. All the basic operations, including the information collection, measurement, control, protection, metering and monitoring, are taken automatically. In this paper, the feasibility of the 802.11ah wireless communication applying in intelligent substation is discussed. Besides, the actual performance of 802.11ah module prototype in 110kV substation has been tested. The results are analyzed, further studies and improvements are suggested. © 2018 IEEE.

The electric spring (ES) is a kind of electric device used for energy buffering, based on voltage and power management. ES transfers the voltage (or energy) fluctuation in the main bus to the non-critical load (NCL), stabilises the main voltage for critical load, and actively adjusts the power consumption of the NCL to achieve regulation goals of distribution network with wide voltage operational range of NCL. With lots of intermittent and fluctuating renewable energy resources into the energy Internet, the smart load integrated with the ES will play a greater role in the optimal operation of the distribution network. Here, the power flow optimal model of distribution network with the ES is proposed. Under different load levels, the flexible regulation of ES can reduce the overall voltage drop and optimise the operation of distribution network. The benefits of ES for the optimisation of distribution network are verified based on an improved IEEE 33-node case. Numerical results show that the ES relieves the voltage drop of the distribution network and improves the reliability of distribution network based on the interaction between the ES and NCL. The overall energy efficiency and reliability of the distribution network system are improved. © 2019 Institution of Engineering and *** right reserved.

With the rapid development of wireless sensor networks, the precision of time synchronization between nodes is becoming increasingly attractive. However, low cost, low power, low technology and other requirements restrict the use of synchronization algorithms in wireless sensor networks. TPSN time synchronization algorithm is a two-way synchronization algorithm, which is widely used in wireless sensor network. But due to the media access mechanism and the channel stability of the wireless sensor network, the standard TPSN algorithm can not meet the requirement of high precision of time synchronization. In this paper, the standard TPSN algorithm have been improved based on doze mechanism. Under the control of the central node, the nodes are doze and wake up sporadically to help with getting the transmission delay accurately. Thus, the time synchronization precision between each node is improved and the overall network power consumption is reduced. The experimental results show that the improved TPSN algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy of time synchronization. © 2018 IEEE.

The application of residential photovoltaics (PVs) is useful regarding mitigation of environment and eradication of energy crisis. However, hosting capacity of distribution network (DN) is restricted due to voltage problem caused by high proportion of residential PVs. In this paper, the energy storage systems (ESSs) are used to overcome the issue of voltage rise in peak PV production and voltage drop to attain the load demand. When the voltage cross the limits, the power shortage estimation method based back/forward algorithm is used to calculate the power shortfall. Then, the distributed control algorithm based on consensus algorithm is applied to regulate the voltage within the required limits. Afterward, two consensus algorithms based on limited communication network are used: the first objective is to share the power shortage among ESS, while the second objective is to modify the output reference of ESS to make the state of charge (SOC) of ESS converge closely. The proposed control method is evaluated in distribution networks, and the simulation results validate the effectiveness of this method. © 2018 IEEE.

Green and clean energy are increasingly becoming the top priority of global energy development, in which demand response plays an important role to improve the consumption of green energy generation and the process of energy substitution. The cluster of air-conditioning loads has great potential to participate in demand response, while different control methods and operating characteristics corresponding to different air-conditioning types will have different effects on the results of demand response. Based on the research on the load features of fixed-frequency and variable-frequency air conditioners and the characteristics of participation in demand response, through a distributed response strategy of slacked consistency, the influence of different control methods and different proportions of two types of air conditioning loads is compared and analysed through simulation cases. The results show that when the number of response users is the same, the schedulable potential of air-conditioning cluster is positively correlated with the proportion of fixed-frequency air-conditioning in the cluster.

Accurate diagnosis of transformer aging state is very important for ensuring safe operation of transformer. Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) behaviors of mineral oil-paper insulation have been widely investigated. With the popularization and application of natural ester, it is very important to diagnose the aging state of natural ester transformer. In this paper, thermal ageing condition assessment for natural ester-paper insulation based on PDC was investigated. Results show that the degradation of polymeric insulation systems increases the space charge density and the concentration of electrical dipoles. The longer the ageing time, the higher amplitude the depolarization current values of natural ester-paper insulation sample (NEP). There is no consistent change for the absorption ratio and the polarization index of the natural ester-paper insulation in the aging process. The polarization index changing behavior for NEP is the same to mineral oil-paper insulation sample (MOP). While the absorption ratio changing behavior for NEP is different to MOP. The MOP has higher polarization index than the NEP when the DP falling down to 500. The NEP has higher absorption ratio than the MOP when the DP falling down to 800. According to the ratio of depolarized total charge quantity growth, the aging stage can be clearly divided into four stages, which is DP>800, 800>DP>600, 600>DP>400, DP © 2018 IEEE.
