With the rapid development of electric power industry and the expansion of power grid scale, more and more attentions have been paid to the safe operation of electrical equipment. The target recognition method we used now couldn’t recognize power transformer well, which is based on gray information. In this paper, a transformer identification algorithm based on improved Hu moment invariants is proposed. The transformer identification algorithm proposed in this paper has the advantages of good recognition effect and high recognition accuracy. The correctness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm have been verified by experiments. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.

In this paper, an impedance compensation method for overvoltage suppression based on traveling wave reflection theory is proposed by analyzing the steady-state operating characteristics of half-wavelength. A digital simulation system for half wavelength transmission lines is built based on RTDS. The PHIL technology is used to observe the characteristics of half wavelength Active Overvoltage Suppression Devices (AOSD) under half wavelength transmission lines. It will provide valuable data reference for the construction of semi wavelength transmission lines in the future. © 2018 IEEE.

With the wide utilization of wind resources, the penetration of wind power is ever increasing. Due to the influence of various uncertainties in the wind farm, the wind farm may generate harmonic oscillations randomly in the system. Accurate detection of the resonant frequency of the system is an important prerequisite for effective harmonic suppression. In response to the aforementioned issues, this paper proposes a wind power grid-connected harmonic resonant frequency measurement based on artificial neural network. It takes the instantaneous current values measured in a certain power frequency cycle as the model input, and uses the resonant frequency of the system as the model output. The accuracy and applicability of the proposed measurement method are verified by simulation studies in the MATLAB/Simulink. Results show that the detection method proposed in this paper is highly accurate and has the potential to be used in the wind farm.

The package of the High-end Relay Protection Chip is Wire Bonding BGA (WBBGA) with 257 inputs/outputs (I/Os). This paper investigated the thermal performance of the High-end Relay Protection Chip using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool. Firstly, according to the initial thermal simulation results, the junction temperature of the package was 115.29 °C appeared on the Relay Protection chip as the environment temperature was 25 C. Then a parametric study was performed to investigate the junction temperatures. We analysed the influence of different parameters on the thermal performance, including Via count, Via coating thickness, Substrate area, Copper coating rate of substrate, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) area, Heat transfer coefficient of epoxy molding compound (EMC) and die attach (DA). Finally, an orthogonal experiment was designed. It's found that the heat transfer coefficient of DA was the most significant factor on the thermal performance by variance analysis, in addition, an optimal collocation of the package structure and material parameters was obtained by range analysis. The junction temperature of the optimal package was reduced to 95.69 °C by 17%. The results of these simulations give a reasonable indication of how the package would perform in a Relay Protection equipments

Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional security chip data transmission, a method of security chip data transmission based on command control word is proposed. The method divides the read command mode and write command mode of the security chip files into two kinds of representation methods. The read command and write command of the security chip files are transmitted by different data transmission methods. In the control word of read and write command mode of security chip files, the read and write commands of security chip files are transmitted in four ways: plaintext, ciphertext, plaintext + MAC and ciphertext + MAC. The properties of prohibit adding and updating are added to the writing command control word of security chip files. In the control word of read command and write command of security chip files, define the permissions that read command and write command operation need to satisfy.

Starting from the application purpose of real distribution network planning, for the high-voltage distribution network connected by medium-voltage tie lines, the power supply capacity is predicted according to current feeder loads and their changing trends, so that the results are more realistic. Based on the above calculation process, the weakness of a distribution network can be identified intuitively and conveniently, which can be used as the basis for generating the measures or schemes to improve power supply capacities. Numerical examples show that the presented model and method are intuitive, simple, and stable and effective compared with the existing methods, and are convenient for application in practice.

This paper proposes a method of establishing a control and protection system testing platform for a Flexible power electronics substation based on Real Time Digital simulator (RTDS) controller hardware in the loop (HIL) testing technology. Such method can be a solution of simulating the complicated operating conditions of a Flexible power electronics substation with ports for different voltage levels while resolving the difficulty of fully simulating the working conditions of a Flexible power electronics substation meanwhile improving the low efficiency of field tests. The platform has the advantages of repeatable simulation results, easy adjustment of parameters, easy simulation of working conditions and high testing efficiency. It has been proved that the control function of the control and protection system of the Flexible power electronics substation is complete, and the operation logic is correct in all kinds of abnormal operating conditions of the AC system.

The regional integrated energy system is an effective way to realize energy cascade utilization and improve the flexibility and economy of the load side operation. Combine cooling heating and power (CCHP) system is a typical form of integrated energy systems. However, due to heat-load-based operation mode, the peak modulation capacity of CCHP units and the accommodation of renewable energy are limited. This paper explores methods of increasing the flexibility and economy of the system. An optimal scheduling model is proposed for integrated energy systems containing an electric heat pump, considering heating network characteristics. Simulation results show that the electric heat pump can help the system realize heat-and-power decoupling, improve the flexibility of the system and reduce the operating cost of the system.

Hybrid MANET-satellite network is a natural evolution in achieving ubiquitous communication. Their combination gives full play to respective advantages—autonomy and flexibility of MANET, wide coverage and resilience to natural disasters of satellite network. Although large quantities of researches have been conducted on hybrid MANET-satellite network, there are relatively few researches on its routing. In this paper, we construct a basic model of hybrid MANET-satellite network and explore the performance and applicability of ad-hoc routing protocols in hybrid network. Simulation results by NS3 demonstrate that the hybrid network working in ad hoc manner can acquire the performance that conforms to the standard of QoS. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2018.

With the increase of distributed power generation integrated into the power grid through power electronic converters, the problem of inertia reduction in power system has been caused, a new control technology is needed to enable distributed power sources to actively participate in the voltage and frequency regulation of the grid. In this paper, a model predictive control (MPC) strategy based on virtual synchronous machine (VSM) for the grid-connected converter is proposed. The method does not require traditional pulse width modulation and current inner loop control. When the voltage and frequency of power grid change, the active power and reactive power can respond in time and simulate characteristics of traditional synchronous machine. The simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the control strategy presented above.
