Hierarchical cobalt-molybdenum layered double hydroxide arrays power efficient oxygen evolution reaction

Transition metal-based layered double hydroxides(LDHs)have been capable of working efficiently as catalysts in the basic oxygen evolution reaction(OER)for sustaining hydrogen production of alkaline water ***,exploring new LDH-based electrocatalysts featuring both remarkable activity and good stability is still in high demand,which is pivotal for comprehensive understanding and impressive improvement of the sluggish OER ***,a series of bimetallic(Co and Mo)LDH arrays were designed and fabricated via a facile and controlled strategy by incorporating a Mo source into presynthesized Co-based metal-organic framework(MOF)arrays on carbon cloth(CC),named as ZIF-67/CC *** found that tuning the Mo content resulted in gradual differences in the structural properties,surface morphology,and chemical states of the resulting catalysts,namely CoMox-LDH/CC(x representing the added weight of the Mo source).Gratifyingly,the best-performing CoMo_(0.20)-LDH/CC electrocatalyst demonstrates a low overpotential of only 226 mV and high stability at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2),which is superior to most LDH-based OER catalysts reported ***,it only required 1.611 V voltage to drive the overall water splitting device at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2).The present study represents a significant advancement in the development and applications of new OER catalysts.

Manipulating Zn^(2+)solvation environment in poly(propylene glycol)-based aqueous Li^(+)/Zn^(2+)electrolytes for high-voltage hybrid ion batteries

Compared with aqueous single-ion batteries,rechargeable aqueous hybrid ion batteries,especially Li^(+)/Zn^(2+)hybrid ion batteries,are receiving extensive interest owing to their low cost,high operating voltage,and energy ***,their working voltage and lifespan are limited by the decomposition of water and the growth of Zn ***,detrimental side reactions induced by the water reduction and the Zn dendrite growth are successfully suppressed by a poly(propylene glycol)(PPG)-based hybrid ion electrolyte[(1 m Zn(TFSI)2+10 m LiTFSI)in PPG/H2O].The addition of PPG in the electrolyte can not only enhance the bonding strength of hydrogen-bond in water but also tailor the solvation sheath of Zn2+as revealed by synchrotron *** participated solvation of PPG with Zn^(2+)can weaken Zn-H_(2)O interactions and redistribute Zn^(2+)flux on the surface of the Zn anode,thus inducing favorably even deposition of *** addition,the decomposition of TFSI-contributes a ZnF_(2)-enriched solid electrolyte interface at the Zn anode to further prevent water decomposition and restrain Zn *** PPG-based electrolyte enables 2.1 V LiMnO_(2)//Zn batteries to deliver high specific capacities(121.7 mAh g^(-1)for a coin cell and 90 mAh g^(-1)for a pouch cell),and maintain 80%of the capacity over 700 cycles at 0.5 C,suggesting a promising pathway for highly reversible aqueous hybrid ion batteries.

Designing and optimizing the pore structure of porous carbon electrodes is essen-tial for diverse energy storage *** this study,an innovative approach spray phase-inversion strategy was developed for the rapid and efficient fabri-cation of controlled porous carbon ***,the aggregation structure of polyacrylonitrile is controlled by adjusting the Hansen’s solubility parameter,thereby regulating the electrode material ***,the theoretical analysis of the spray phase-inversion process revealed that this regulation pro-cess is jointly regulated by solvent hydrodynamic diameter and phase-inversion *** optimization,a novel porous carbon material was obtained that exhibited excellent performance as an electrode *** utilized in supercapacitors for energy storage,it demonstrated a high specific capacitance of 373.1 F g^(-1) in a 6 M KOH electrolyte ***,it has been observed that the preparation strategy for porous electrodes offers notable advan-tages in terms of excellent designability,broad universality,simplicity,and high efficiency,thereby holding promise for large-scale fabrication of diverse porous electrode materials and various types of electrodes for diverse energy storage applications.

Vascular scaffolds are one of the important application fields of biodegradable Mg alloys, and related research has been carried out for more than 20 years. In recent years, the application expansion of Mg alloy vascular scaffolds has brought new challenges to the research of related fields. This review focuses on the relevant advances in the field of Mg alloys for both cardio-/cerebrovascular scaffolds. The frequently investigated alloy series for vascular scaffolds were reviewed. The bottleneck of processing of Mg alloy minitubes was *** idea of functionalized surface modification was also pointed out in this review, and the authors put forward guidelines based on research experience in terms of scaffold structural design and degradation behavior evaluation. Finally, suggestions for further research directions of Mg alloy vascular scaffolds were provided.

Improvement of AlN Thermal Conductivity Based on Reductive Compound Additives

AlN ceramics were prepared by plasma activation sintering(PAS)with compound additives yttrium acetylacetonate(Y(acac)_(3))and melamine(C_(3)H_(6)N_(6)).The effects of compound additives on the microstructure,density,and thermal properties of Al N ceramic were studied.Y(acac)3and C_(3)H_(6)N_(6)can form Y_(2)O_(3),residual organic carbon and reducing gas during the heating process,which improves the Al N sintering performance at a temperature of 1700℃and the bulk thermal *** the content of Y(acac)_(3)is 10 wt%and C_(3)H_(6)N_(6)is 3 wt%,the thermal conductivity of Al N ceramics is 105.6 W/(m·K),which is much higher than that of Al N ceramics with Y_(2)O_(3)under the same sintering *** work provides theoretical reference for the preparation of high-performance Al N ceramic.

Controlling electrodeposited Ni layers by different-sized graphene oxides enables conductive e-textiles for the highly sensitive electrochemical detection of glucose

With the increasing popularity of wearable electronic devices,there is an urgent demand to develop electronic textiles(e-textiles)for device ***,the difficulty in reconciliation between conductivity and manufacturing costs hinders their large-scale practical ***,we reported a facile and economic method for preparing conductive ***,nonconductive polypropylene(PP)was wrapped by reduced graphene oxide(rGO),followed by the electrodeposition of Ni nanoparticles(NPs).Notably,modulating the sheet size of graphene oxide(GO)resulted in controllable deposition of Ni NPs with adjustable size,allowing for controlled manipulations over the structures,morphologies,and conductivity of the obtained e-textiles,which influenced their performance in electrochemical glucose detection *** optimal material,denoted as Ni/rGO+(0.2)/PP,exhibited an impressive conductivity of 7.94×10^(4)S·m^(−1).With regard to the excellent conductivity of the as-prepared e-textiles and the high electrocatalytic activity of Ni for glucose oxidation,the asprepared e-textiles were subjected to glucose *** was worth emphasizing that the Ni/rGO_(0.2)/PP-based electrode demonstrated promising performance for nonenzymatic/label-free glucose detection,with a detection limit of 0.36μM and a linear response range of 0.5μM to 1 *** study paves the way for further development and application prospects of conductive etextiles.

Chiral effect on Aβ fibrillation from molecular-scale to nanoscale

β-Amyloid(Aβ)peptide fibrillation,one of the characteristic hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease,is determined by many interfacial physical-chemical factors,e.g.,charge,hydrophobicity,*** extensive research,chiral effect in different-scales on the fibrillation process of Aβremains ***,molecular-scale,sub-nanoscale,and nanoscale chiral-structures were constructed to investigate their chiral effect on the fibrillation of Aβ_(40) *** structures from molecular-scale to nanoscale were obtained from the different periods of the chemosynthesis process of chiral ZnS quantum-dots(QDs),confirmed by real-time monitoring of circular dichroism *** molecular-scale,both L-penicillamine(L-P)and D-P ligands accelerated the fibrillation of Aβ_(40),and the speed-up effect of D-P was slightly stronger than *** sub-nanoscale,both two chiral Zncomplexes(L-Zn and D-Zn)induced the agglomeration of Aβ_(40) without chirality *** nanoscale,both L-ZnS and DZnS QDs inhibited the fibrillation of Aβ_(40),and the inhibition effect of L-ZnS was notably better than that of ***-situ kinetics experiments of Aβ_(40) co-incubated with two chiral QDs demonstrated that L-ZnS completely prevents the misfolding of Aβ_(40) from unfolded toβ-sheet,while D-ZnS cannot achieve *** site-replacement experiments and simulation results revealed the underlying molecular mechanisms of the different inhibition efficiency of chiral ZnS QDs on Aβ_(40) fibrillation,which mainly attribute to the stereoselectivity interaction between the chiral ligands of ZnS QDs and electro-positive amino acid residues(R5,K16,and K28)of Aβ_(40).This work offers a microscopic insight of chiral effect on Aβfibrillation exerted by structures in different-scales,and provides a guidance in precise regulation of protein fibrillation via manipulating chiral structures in different-scales.

Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Properties of Fe(Al,Ta)/Fe_(2)Ta(Al)Eutectic Composite
