Dense dislocations induced ductile SnTe thermoelectric semiconductor over a wide range of temperatures

Most inorganic thermoelectric semiconductors are intrinsically brittle,restricting the application of ther-moelectric ***,developing ductile thermoelectric materials is crucial to thermoelectric technology *** this work,single-phase SnTe bulks with dense dislocations were prepared by melting quenching combined with spark plasma *** resulting SnTe thermoelectric materials exhibited a large compressive strain of∼7.5%at room temperature,originating from high-density pre-existing mobile *** initiation of localized slip bands and preferred slip system were also identified by first-principles *** microstructural characterizations reveal that the thermal activated dislocation emission and migration lead to higher compressive strains at intermediate *** 673 K,the deformation mechanism changed from dislocation mediated to grain boundary mediated plasticity,resulting in an ultra-high compressive strain of∼42%.In sum,new insights into the mechanical behavior of SnTe thermoelectric material over a wide range of temperatures were *** work offers the dislocation engineering strategy to design ductile thermoelectric materials for flexi-ble electronics and energy systems.

Laser etching and laser chemical vapor deposition(LCVD)techniques were proposed for the rapid preparation of high-purity,strongly bonded SiC porous micro-nano-coatings on quartz *** laser serves as an external driving force for the vertical growth of SiC whiskers,facilitating the formation of a porous nanostructure that resembles coral models found in the macroscopic biological *** porous nanostructures are beneficial for reducing thermal expansion mismatch and relieving residual *** is capable of eliminating the cracks on the surface of SiC coatings as well as enhancing the bonding of SiC coatings with quartz substrates to avoid coating detachment.

Defect chemistry engineering of Ga-doped garnet electrolyte with high stability for solid-state lithium metal batteries

Ga-doped Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(Ga-LLZO)has long been considered as a promising garnet-type electrolyte candidate for all-solid-state lithium metal batteries(ASSLBs)due to its high room temperature ionic ***,the typical synthesis of Ga-LLZO is usually accompanied by the formation of undesired LiGaO_(2) impurity phase that causes severe instability of the electrolyte in contact with molten Li metal during half/full cell *** this study,we show that by simply engineering the defect chemistry of Ga-LLZO,namely,the lithium deficiency level,LiGaO_(2) impurity phase is effectively inhibited in the final synthetic ***,defect chemistry engineered Ga-LLZO exhibits excellent electrochemical stability against lithium metal,while its high room temperature ionic conductivity(~1.9×10^(-3)S·cm^(-1))is well *** assembled Li/Ga-LLZO/Li symmetric cell has a superior critical current density of 0.9 mA·cm^(-2),and cycles stably for 500 hours at a current density of 0.3 mA·cm^(-2).This research facilitates the potential commercial applications of high performance Ga-LLZO solid electrolytes in ASSLBs.

Interfacial charge effects of supported-metal-cluster heterostructures on azo hydrogenation catalyzation

The impact of interfacial charge on catalytic performance of supported-metal-cluster(SMC)heterostructures remains unclear,hindering efforts to develop high-performance SMC *** we systematically investigated interfacial charge effects of SMCs using a model system of graphene-supported gold-nanoclusters(AuNCs/rGO)for azo *** types of SMCs with different interfacial charges were synthesized by anchoring electropositive 2-aminoethanethiol(CSH),amphoteric cysteine(Cys),and electronegative 3-mercaptopropionic-acid(MPA)onto AuNCs/rGO,*** three SMCs exhibited high and selective catalytic activity to azo-hydrogenation in four representative azo *** catalytic activity of Cys@AuNCs/rGO was lower than that of CSH@AuNCs/rGO but higher than that of MPA@AuNCs/***,the cyclic stability of Cys@AuNCs/rGO was inferior to that of both CSH@AuNCs/rGO and MPA@AuNCs/*** mechanistic studies revealed that amino ligands modified CSH@AuNCs and Cys@AuNCs agglomerated into large-size gold nanoparticles on rGO surface during catalytic reaction under NaBH_(4) action,leading to reduced efficiency and cyclic ***,non-amino ligand modified MPA@AuNCs only partially detached from rGO surface without agglomeration,resulting in better cyclic *** of amino groups in ligands such as modifying-NH_(3)^(+)group in Cys into imine to form N-isobutyryl-L-cysteine(NIBC)substantially improved the cyclic stability while maintaining the high activity in the NIBC@AuNCs/rGO catalyst *** work provides an approach for developing a highly-active and stable SMC heterostructure catalyst via manipulating interfacial charges in SMC.

Designing carboxymethyl cellulose based hydrogel electrolyte membranes enhanced by inorganic nanoparticle toward stable zinc anode

Aqueous zinc metal batteries have garnered substantial attention ascribing to affordability,intrinsic safety,and environmental benignity Nevertheless,zinc metal batteries yet are challenged with potential service life issues resulted from dendrites and side *** this paper,a strategy of nanoparticles doped hydrogel is proposed for constructing carboxymethyl cellulose/graphite oxide hybrid hydrogel electrolyte membranes with exceptional ionic conductivity,anti-swelling property,and simultaneously addressing the dendrites and parasitic *** pivotal functions of the carboxymethyl cellulose/graphite oxide hydrogel electrolyte in mitigating hydrogen evolution and fostering accelerated Zn deposition have been elucidated based on principles of thermodynamic and reaction *** carboxymethyl cellulose/graphite oxide hydrogel electrolyte endows exceptional cycling longevity (800 h at 1 mA cm^(-2)/1 mAh cm^(-2)) for Znjj Zn battery,as well as high Coulombic efficiency for Znjj Cu battery (averagely 99.14%within 439 cycles at 1 mA cm^(-2)/1 mAh cm^(-2)).The assembled Znjj NH_(4)V_(4)O_(10)battery delivers a high reversible specific capacity of 328.5 mAh g^(-1)at 0.1 A g^(-1).Moreover,the device of Znjj NH_(4)V_(4)O_(10)pouch battery remains operational under severe conditions like bending and *** work provides valuable reference in developing inorganic nanoparticle hybrid hydrogel electrolyte for realizing high-performance zinc metal batteries.

Universal Encapsulation Adhesive for Lead Sedimentation and Attachable Perovskite Solar Cells with Enhanced Performance

In this work,a modified polyurethane adhesive(PUA)was prepared to realize a convenient encapsulation strategy for lead sedimentation and attachable perovskite solar cells(A-PSCs).The modified PUA can completely self-heal within 45 min at room temperature with an efficient lead ion-blocking rate of 99.3%.The PUA film can be coated on a metal electrode with slight efficiency improvement from 23.96%to 24.15%.The thermal stability at 65℃and the humidity stability at 55%relative humidity(RH)are superior to the devices encapsulated with *** PUA film has strong adhesion to the flexible substrate and the initial efficiency of the flexible perovskite module(17.2%)encapsulated by PUA remains 92.6%within 1825 *** results suggest that PUA encapsulation is universal for rigid and flexible PSCs with enhanced stability and low lead ***,it was found that flexible PSCs can be well attached to various substrates with PUA,providing a facile route for the A-PSCs in various scenarios without additional encapsulation and installation.

3D-printable Boron Nitride/Polyacrylic Hydrogel Composites with High Thermal Conductivities

Polyacrylic acid(PAA)hydrogel composites with different hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)fillers were synthesized and successfully 3D-printed while their thermal conductivity was systematically *** the content of h-BN increasing from 0.1 wt%to 0.3 wt%,the thermal conductivity of the 3D-printed composites has been ***,through the shear force given by the 3D printer,a complete thermal conductivity path is obtained inside the hydrogel,which significantly improves the thermal conductivity of the h-BN hydrogel *** maximum thermal conductivity is 0.8808 W/(m·K),leading to a thermal conductive enhancement of 1000%,compared with the thermal conductivity of pure PAA *** study shows that using h-BN fillers can effectively and significantly improve the thermal conductivity of hydrogelbased materials while its 3D-printable ability has been maintained.

Effect of Particle Size on Silicon Nitride Ceramic Slurry by Stereolithography

The effects of particle size,gradation and solid loading of silicon nitride (Si_(3)N_(4)) on the rheological behavior and curing properties of ceramic slurry are studied by stereolithography (SLA).The results show that the particle size of Si_(3)N_(4) powder has a signif icant influence on the rheological properties and stability of the *** m_(D50=1.3μm):m_(D50=2.3μm)=3:7,the slurry viscosity is low and the sedimentation is *** most important thing is that with the increase of the solid loading of the slurry,the viscosity of the slurry increases,the stability becomes higher,and the curing thickness *** curing thickness of Si_(3)N_(4) ceramic slurry with solid loading of 50 vol% can reach nearly 50μ*** above results finally show that the process optimizes the formulation of the slurry in rheological and curing properties.

Constructing a stable cobalt-nitrogen-carbon air cathode from coordinatively unsaturated zeolitic-imidazole frameworks for rechargeable zinc-air batteries

Zeolitic-imidazole frameworks(ZIFs)derivations have widely emerged as an efficient air cathode of zinc-air batteries(ZABs)due to excellent bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis ***,they are not stable enough for long-term operation of rechargeable ZABs because of weak association with current collector,especially under bending conditions for flexible ZAB ***,we show that by purposely designing coordinatively unsaturated ZIFs via a facile morphology regulation,which can be chemically linked on acid-treated carbon cloth,a stable Co-N-C air cathode is therefore derived where Co nanoparticles(NPs)are uniformly confined within the Co-N-C matrix on carbon cloth(Co/Co-N-C/CC).Specifically,when without being stabilized from carbon cloth,the pyrolysis of ZIFs with different unsaturated coordination levels has a negligible impact on the bifunctional oxygen-catalyzed *** optimal Co/Co-N-C/CC catalyst assembled ZAB possesses a large open circuit voltage of 1.415 V and a high peak power density of 163 mW·cm^(−2) as well as excellent cycling durability upon 630 discharge–charge cycles with 61%voltage efficiency remained,largely exceeding those of a benchmark Pt/C-IrO_(2) catalyst assembled *** synergy between Co NPs and active Co-N-C sites via electronic interaction induces the outstanding bifunctional oxygen-catalyzed activity and cathode *** present work highlights the importance of unsaturated coordination structures in ZIFs precursors for the performance of derived nanostructures in integrated electrodes.

The effect of room temperature magnetic field on photoluminescence of Mn:CsPbBr_(3) quantum dots prepared by one-pot method in air
