Measurement circuit of solenoid inductance sensor

To achieve the accurate measurement of the hydraulic valve opening position, two different measurement circuits were designed respectively for two-coil and three-coil differential solenoid inductance displacement sensors. Compared the pros and cons of their static and dynamic performances. The peripheral measurement circuit based on the AD698 was improved, so as to enhance the sensitivity of displacement detection. The different sensor measurement circuits were tested to compare the static output characteristics of these two types of sensors. The experimental results show that AD698 sensor measurement circuit is featured with small nonlinear error, high repeatability, and low hysteresis error. Sensitivity varies with the range of the measurement. When the sensor measuring ranges of conditions are defined, it is appropriate to increase sensitivity. In Valvistor hydraulic cartridge valve system, AD698 measurement circuit would be used to test the real-time dynamic detection. When the system pressure is maintained constant, the valve opening size influences the response speed of the sensor measuring circuit. The greater the pressure valve, the faster the dynamic response of the valve. The relationship between main valve displacement and flow rate is also detected in these experiments.

Atom-assisted second-order sideband generation in an optomechanical system with atom-cavity-resonator coupling

Second-order sideband generation (SSG) is investigated in an optomechanical system with atom-cavity-resonator coupling. We focus mainly on the effect of the atomic ensemble trapped in the cavity on the SSG. The numerical results show that the second-order sideband is induced not only for the blue probe-pump detuning resonant case but also for the red one while coupling the atoms with the cavity. Moreover, it is found that the efficiency of the SSG can be significantly enhanced while increasing the atom-cavity coupling strength. More interestingly, the SSG is also sensitive to the atom-pump detuning. It is demonstrated that when optimizing this detuning and the atom-cavity coupling strength together, a robust second-order sideband can be induced and the efficiency of the SSG even surpasses the one of the first-order sideband generation. In addition, the efficiency of the SSG can also be tuned effectively by the decay rate of the atom.

A Linear Interpolation Fuzzy controller for a Boiler Pressure control system

Considering nonlinear behaviors and environmental disturbance of the boiler pressure control system, a linear interpolation fuzzy controller is developed. First, according to the conventional discrete fuzzy control principle, a discrete fuzzy controller for the system is designed and a 2-D fuzzy control lookup table is deduced. Then, to overcome the conventional fuzzy controller's disadvantage of lower precision caused by discretization, a bilinear interpolation 2-D table lookup method is used to replace the exact lookup method, with which continuous output can be obtained from the discrete control table. Finally, based on the existed computer control system and boiler system hardware configuration, hard-in-loop real-time simulation system is established in Matlab/RTWT. Lots of experiments are carried out. And the results prove that better control performance can be achieved with the proposed control scheme.

This paper proposes a peak-to-valley time-based electricity price optimization method based on NSGA-II with distributed power supply. First, the curve-fitting method is used to obtain the comprehensive electricity price response curve of users in the whole society. Secondly, based on the use of time-sharing electricity price, the peak-to-valley time-sharing optimization model is established. Then, based on the NSGA-II optimization method, the optimal model is solved, and the optimal electricity price is obtained at different time periods to change the peak-to-valley load and the valley load. Paper based flexible pressure sensors have received extensive attention due to their recoverability and accessibility. In this paper, we proposed graphical pressure sensors array with multilayered structure. A simple writing method was adopted to achieve the adsorption of sensitive materials on the fiber structure of cellulose paper. Pressure sensors with 1, 3, 5 and 7 stacked layers were fabricated and compared, respectively. The results show that the 7-layers sensor combined high sensitivity (44 kPa-1) and fast time response (150 ms). The highly sensitive stacked paper-based sensor array realizes the pressure detection of objects and special-shaped surfaces. A pressure sensor base on commercial corrugated box was also fabricated to compare. The corrugated carton array was made to switch reminder devices for its convenience and accessibility. Since there are many scenarios that require a safe distance, especially under the influence of the COVID-19, the writable paper-based sensor array was used to realize graphical distance perception and warning. © 2021, CC BY.

Chaotic time-delay signature suppression and entropy growth enhancement using frequency-band extractor

By frequency-band extracting, we experimentally and theoretically investigate time-delay signature (TDS) suppression and entropy growth enhancement of a chaotic optical-feedback semiconductor laser under different injection currents and feedback strengths. The TDS and entropy growth are quantified by the peak value of autocorrelation function and the difference of permutation entropy at the feedback delay time. At the optimal extracting bandwidth, the measured TDS is suppressed up to 96% compared to the original chaos, and the entropy growth is higher than the noise-dominated threshold indicating that the dynamical process is noisy. The effects of extracting bandwidth and radio frequencies on the TDS and entropy growth are also clarified experimentally and theoretically. The experimental results are in good agreements with the theoretical results. The skewness of the laser intensity distribution is effectively improved to 0.001 with the optimal extracting bandwidth. This technique provides a promising tool to extract randomness and prepare desired entropy sources for chaotic secure communication and random number generation. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. There are still quite a few problems in river ice environment monitoring by remote monitoring network, such as the increase of the various sensor nodes and network capacity overload due to the dense deployment, and the decrease of the life expectance of the network. In view of this, the improved K-means data fusion algorithm was proposed to fuse a variety of data by a novel self-developed sensor. Furthermore, the resilient BP network was employed to build a data model database, so as to identify the overall river ice environment at the back-end remotely in real time. Simulation verification and comparison test results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve efficient and accurate data transmission by various sensors and the existing sensor network during the real-time monitoring of the river ice environment.

Ultraprecise time-difference measurement via enhanced dual pointers with multiple weak interactions

Standard weak measurement with an assistant pointer and single weak interaction constrains measurement precision and quantity of interaction parameters, and a compelling characterization of quantum effect featuring weak-value amplification (WVA) remains elusive. Here, we theoretically and experimentally demonstrate an enhanced dual-pointer WVA scheme based on multiple weak interactions and variable spectrum sources. Developing triple weak interactions, momentum P pointer reaches an optimal time-difference precision of 3.34×10−5 as at 6 nm spectral width, and intensity I pointer achieves a displacement resolution of 148.8 fm within 400 kHz linewidth. A quantum effect associated with an anomalous weak value is revealed by an observable violation of a Leggett-Garg inequality. The I-pointer weak value is measured to be 1478 using multiple weak interactions and high signal-to-noise detection, achieving a two-order-of-magnitude WVA enhancement compared to standard weak measurement. Our work opens up a practical avenue for minuscule quantumness measurements in challenging environments. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Solution of the practical problems of the ice engineering requires the data about the strength of the ice cover that depends upon its temperature. In most cases, the snow lies on the ice cover and the ice temperature differs from the atmospheric air temperature. To reveal the correlation of the air temperature with temperature on interfaces air-snow and snow-ice, the known in the thermophysics solution of the problem of the heat transfer through the multilayer plate was applied. Derived solution connects the temperature of air and temperature on the snow-ice interface and satisfactory correlates with data of the field measurements of the temperature within snow layer and ice cover and ice thickness on the Heilongjiang （Amur） River. Results of investigation are recommended for the ice temperature evaluation in engineering practice.

Although previously reported terahertz absorbers can achieve high-sensitivity refractive index sensing,the resonant peak is too broad,which leads to a low figure of merit[FOM].Transmissive sensors based on bound states in the continuum[BIC]can achieve high FOM,but they have some limitations in high ***,we propose a periodic triple parallel metal bars structure to obtain high quality,a strong field,and multiple hot spots by the Friedrich-Wintgen *** results show the sensitivity and FOM can reach 1877 GHz/RIU and 665,*** to the previously reported transmissive sensors based on BIC,the sensitivity has been greatly improved.
