Variability of fuel consumption and CO_(2) emissions of a gasoline passenger car under multiple in-laboratory and on-road testing conditions

An increasing divergence regarding fuel consumption(and/or CO_(2)emissions) between realworld and type-approval values for light-duty gasoline vehicles(LDGVs) has posed severe challenges to mitigating greenhouse gases(GHGs) and achieving carbon emissions peak and neutrality. To address this divergence issue, laboratory test cycles with more real-featured and transient traffic patterns have been developed recently, for example, the China Lightduty Vehicle Test Cycle for Passenger cars(CLTC-P). We collected fuel consumption and CO_(2)emissions data of a LDGV under various conditions based on laboratory chassis dynamometer and on-road tests. laboratory results showed that both standard test cycles and setting methods of road load affected fuel consumption slightly, with variations of less than 4%. Compared to the type-approval value, laboratory and on-road fuel consumption of the tested LDGV over the CLTC-P increased by 9% and 34% under the reference condition(i.e., air conditioning off, automatic stop and start(STT) on and two passengers). On-road measurement results indicated that fuel consumption under the low-speed phase of the CLTC-P increased by 12% due to the STT off, although only a 4% increase on average over the entire cycle. More fuel consumption increases(52%) were attributed to air conditioning usage and full passenger capacity. Strong correlations(R2> 0.9) between relative fuel consumption and average speed were also identified. Under traffic congestion(average speed below 25 km/hr), fuel consumption was highly sensitive to changes in vehicle speed. Thus,we suggest that real-world driving conditions cannot be ignored when evaluating the fuel economy and GHGs reduction of LDGVs.

Uncovering the coupling effect with energy-related carbon emissions and human development variety in Chinese provinces

Lessening energy-related carbon emissions has become a crucial measure to achieve Chinese carbon *** study is the first to construct a Difference in Carbon pressures-adjusted Human Development Index(DCHDI)model for the purpose of exploring the coupling effect between carbon emissions and human development variety from 2000 to 2019 in Chinese *** demonstrate the following.(1)The total energy-related carbon footprint of 30 provinces in China reached 10.2 billion tons in 2019,with an average annual growth rate of 6.93% over the past two decades;and the provinces with the highest carbon emissions per capita are InnerMongolia,Ningxia,and Shanxi.(2)At the provincial level,we observed that the Human Development Index(HDI),which includes life expectancy,education,and income,has been rising,while Beijing,Shanghai,and Tianjin entered the super-high HDI level before 2008.(3)The entire coupling effect of 30 Chinese provinces has been broadly fortified in the last 20 years,but the growth rate of DCHDI values in 2011-2019 has slowed down compared with that in 2000-2010;the clustering phenomenon demonstrated that this discovery is associated with historical peaks in total carbon emissions.(4)The co-ordination degree of carbon emissions per capita and HDI was verified,and 96% of the data points were found in the range of super high coupling coordination ***,this study provides the government with worthwhile guidance for decision-making and carbon reduction strategies for other countries struggling to advance human sustainable development.

Adsorption is one of the most feasible and effective methods to alleviate the volatile organic compounds(VOCs)***,the mixture effect and mechanism for competitive adsorption of VOCs on zeolites are barely *** this study,toluene,acetone,and ethyl acetate as prevalent VOCs species were removed by four potential zeolites(13X,USY,Beta,ZSM-5)in both single-and multi-component *** structure-property relationship between adsorbate-adsorbent pairs was revealed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectrometer,X-ray fluorescence,N_(2) adsorption and density function theory *** molecular polarity and volatility of VOCs species played key roles in adsorption and the dynamic uptakes were generally listed as follows:ethyl acetate>toluene>*** for the above VOCs mixtures,13X zeolite selectively adsorbed oxygenated VOCs rather than *** contrast,USY exhibited a preference to trap *** acetate could be readily enriched by ZSM-5 and Beta *** possible explanations and implications are discussed based on the subtle change in electron *** results obtained are vital for understanding the mixture effect of VOCs adsorption and may guide the selection of proper adsorbent for real applications.

To meet the rapidly growing global demand for aquaculture products,large amounts of antibiotics were used in aquaculture,which might accelerate the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria(ARB)and the propagation of antibiotic genes(ARGs).In our research,we revealed the ARGs profiles,their co-occurrence with mobile genetic elements(MGEs),and potential hosts in sediments of a crab pond wastewater purification system based on metagenomic *** residual antibiotic seems to increase the propagation of ARGs in the crab pond,but there was no clear relationship between a given antibiotic type and the corresponding resistance *** effect of aquaculture on sediment was not as profound as that of other anthropogentic activities,but increased the relative abundance of sulfon-amide resistance gene.A higher abundance of MGEs,especially plasmid,increased the po-tential ARGs dissemination risk in crab and purification *** and sulfonamide resistance genes had greater potential to transfer because they were more frequently carried by *** horizontal gene transfer was likely to occur among a variety of microorgan-isms,and various ARGs hosts including Pseudomonas,Acinetobacter,Escherichia,and Klebsiella were *** community influenced the composition of ARG hosts,and Pro-teobacteria was the predominant ***,our study provides novel insights into the environmental risk of ARGs in sediments of aquaculture wastewater treatment system.

Chemical characteristics of long-term acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry:A case study in Southwest China

The chemical composition of acid rain and its impact on lake water chemistry in Chongqing,China,from 2000 to 2020 were studied in this *** regional acid rain intensity is affected jointly by the acid gas emissions and the neutralization of alkaline *** pH of precipitation experienced three stages of fluctuating decline,continuous improvement,and a slight *** pH showed inflection points in 2010,mainly due to the total control actions of SO_(2)and NO_(x)implemented in *** total ion concentrations in rural areas and urban areas were 489.08μeq/L and 618.57μeq/L,*** top four ions were SO_(4)^(2-),Ca^(2+),NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-),which accounted for more than 90%of the total ion concentration,indicating the anthropogenic *** 2010,SO_(4)^(2-)fluctuated greatly while NO_(3)^(-)continued to rise;however,after 2010,both SO_(4)^(2-)and NO_(3)^(-)began to decline rapidly,with the rates of-12.03μeq/(L·year)and-4.11μeq/(L·year).Because the decline rate of SO_(4)^(2-)was 2.91 times that of NO_(3)^(-),the regional acid rain has changed from sulfuric acid rain to mixed sulfuric and nitric acid *** lake water is weakly acidic,with an average pH of 5.86,and the acidification frequency is 30.00%.Acidification of lake water is jointly affected by acid deposition and acid neutralization capacity of lake *** deposition has a profound impact on water acidification,and nitrogen(N)deposition,especially reduced N deposition,should be the focus of future research.

Target Vehicle Selection Algorithm for Adaptive Cruise control Based on Lane-changing Intention of Preceding Vehicle

To improve the ride comfort and safety of a traditional adaptive cruise control(ACC)system when the preceding vehicle changes lanes,it proposes a target vehicle selection algorithm based on the prediction of the lane-changing intention for the preceding ***,the Next Generation simulation dataset is used to train a lane-changing intention prediction algorithm based on a sliding window support vector machine,and the lane-changing intention of the preceding vehicle in the current lane is identified by lateral position ***,according to the lane-changing intention and collision threat of the preceding vehicle,the target vehicle selection algorithm is studied under three different conditions:safe lane-changing,dangerous lane-changing,and lane-changing ***,the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified in a co-simulation *** simulation results show that the target vehicle selection algorithm can ensure the smooth transfer of the target vehicle and effectively reduce the longitudinal acceleration fluctuation of the subject vehicle when the preceding vehicle changes lanes safely or cancels their lane change *** the case of a dangerous lane change,the target vehicle selection algorithm proposed in this paper can respond more rapidly to a dangerous lane change than the target vehicle selection method of the traditional ACC system;thus,it can effectively avoid collisions and improve the safety of the subject vehicle.

Modeling method of photovoltaic power generation grid connection based on particle swarm optimization neural network

Aiming at the complex structure, numerous equipment, intricate control and protection logic, as well as the existence of numerous unmodeled dynamics and black-box device models in photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected systems, a modeling method based on Particle Swarm Optimization Neural Network (PSO-NN) is proposed to address the inability of pure mechanism models to accurately simulate their operational dynamics. Utilizing the differences in active power response waveforms under Voltage-Frequency (Vf) control, Power-Reactive Power (PQ) control, and Droop control as criteria for control strategy identification, a PSO-NN model is constructed for PV grid-connected systems, with inputs comprising temperature, humidity, light intensity, voltage, and frequency disturbances, and outputs being active and reactive power. To validate the model's effectiveness, a PV grid-connected system model is built in a self-developed simulation software and connected to an IEEE 14-bus distribution network for simulation verification. The results demonstrate that the proposed PV grid-connected model can effectively identify the types of Vf control, PQ control, and Droop control strategies, and accurately reflect the dynamic response characteristics of active and reactive power under various voltage and frequency disturbances. © The Author(s) 2024.

Effects of persulfate-assisted hydrothermal treatment of municipal sludge on aqueous phase characteristics and phytotoxicity

Hydrothermal technology (HT) has received much attention in recent years as a process to convert wet organic waste into *** aqueous phase (HTAP) produced by this process is still a burden and has become a bottleneck issue for HT process *** this study,we provide the?rst investigation of the HTAP characteristics,phytotoxicity,and their correlation with persulfate (PS)(PS,2.0 mmol/g TS)-assisted municipal sludge *** results showed that PS accelerated the hydrolysis of protein substances and increased the concentration of NH_(4)^(+)by 13.4%to 190.5%and that of PO_(4)^(3-)by 24.2%to 1103.7%in HTAP at hydrothermal temperatures of 120 to 240℃.PS can reduce the phytotoxicity of HTAP by reducing aldehydes,ketones,N heterocyclic compounds,and particle size and by increasing its humi?cation *** maximum values of the root length and biomass of pakchoi(Brassica chinensis L.) seedlings occurred when electrical conductivity was 0.2 mS/cm of *** work provided a new strategy for the selection and design of HTAP management strategies.

Achieving an Accurate Random Process Model for PV Power Using Cheap Data:Leveraging the SDE and Public Weather Reports

Stochastic differential equation (SDE)-based random process models of renewable energy sources (RESs) jointly capture evolving probability distribution and temporal correlation in continuous time. It enabled recent studies to remarkably improve performance of power system dynamic uncertainty quantification and optimization. However, considering the non-homogeneous random process nature of PV, there still remains a challenging question: how can a realistic and accurate daily SDE model for PV power be obtained that reflects its weather-dependent and non-Gaussian uncertainty in operation, especially when high-resolution numerical weather prediction (NWP) or sky imager is unavailable for many distributed plants? To fill this gap, this article finds that an accurate SDE model for PV power can be constructed only using the data from low-resolution public weather reports. Specifically, for each day, an hourly parameterized Jacobi diffusion process recreates temporal patterns of PV volatility. Its parameters are mapped from the day's public weather reports to reflect varying weather conditions using a simple learning model. The SDE model jointly captures intraday and intrahour volatility. Statistical examination shows that the proposed approach outperforms a selection of the latest deep learning-based time series models on real-world data collected in Macao.

To enhance the safety and comfort of driving at night, high-definition warning/interactive ICONS will be projected on the ground in conjunction with the ADAS Advanced Driver Assistance system to alert nearby pedestrians and drivers. To solve the problem of trapezoidal distortion caused by automobile headlights when projecting high-definition warning/interactive ICONS and pictures to the ground, firstly, the ground lighting area is connected with the luminous array according to the light field model established in the previous chapter, and then the corresponding luminous array corresponds to the coordinate value of the image pixel point to realize the coordinate reconstruction. Then, after the bilinear interpolation, the luminance value of the image pixel is assigned to the corresponding luminescent array coordinate, and the image is projected to the ground without distortion. Finally, the experimental system test platform was built to verify the method. © 2023 IEEE.
