Performance comparison of lithium fractionation from magnesium via continuous selective nanofiltration/electrodialysis

Although selective nanofiltration(SNF)and selective electrodialysis(SED)have been widely adopted in the field of Mg^(2+)/Li^(+)separation,their differences have not been illustrated *** this study,for the first time,SNF and SED processes in continuous mode were studied for Li+fractionation from the same brine with high Mg/Li ratios and their differences were discussed in *** a fair analysis of the two processes,typical factors were ***,the optimal operating pressure and feed flow rate for SNF were 2.4 MPa and 140 L·h^(-1),respectively,while the optimal cell-pair voltage and replenishment flow rate for SED were 1.0 V and 14 L·h^(-1),*** the Li^(+)fractionation capacity of the two processes were similar,the selectivity coefficient of SNF was 24.7% higher than that of SED and,thus,the Mg/Li ratio in purified stream of the former was 19.0% lower than that of the *** to higher ion driving force,SED had clear advantages in recovery ratio and concentration ***,the specific energy consumption of SED was 20.1% lower than that of *** study provided a better understanding and guidance for the application and improvement of the two technologies.

The relationship between chemodiversity and microbial succession in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)is highly intricate and *** specific contribution of the microbial community to changes in the composition of dissolved organic matter(DOM)within different biological treatment units remains unclear,as does the reciprocal influence of DOM composition on microbial *** this study,spectroscopy((Excitationemission matrix)EEM-PARAFAC,Ultraviolet(UV)-spectrum,Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR)),Liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer(LC–MS)and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance(FT-ICR)MS along with high-throughput sequencing technology were used to explore the relationship between chemodiversity and microbial succession in WWTPs concerning seasonal *** results showed that WWTPs with anaerobic/anoxic/oxic(A2O)processes can metabolize and transformmost of thewastewater DOM,and the anaerobic unit has the highest removal rate for fluorescence DOM(FDOM,14.07%-64.43%);the anaerobic unit increased aliphatic/proteins and lignin-like molecules but decreased relative intensity,while the anoxic unit removed unsaturated hydrocarbons,aromatic structures,and lignin-like *** impact of seasonal changes on the composition and removal of FDOM and DOM in wastewater treatment is significant,and the variations that occur during different seasons affect microbial activity,as well as the production,degradation,and transformation of organic compounds throughout thewastewater treatment *** analysis shows that Parcubacteria_genera_incertae_sedis plays a crucial role in DOM chemodiversity,highlighting the crucial contribution of microbial com-munities to both the structure and operation of the entire DOM *** results in this study could provide some theoretical and practical basis for guiding the process optimiza-tion of WWTPs.

An equivalent modeling method for integrated water-wind-solar systems based on sparrow search algorithm

In the context of extensive integration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grid, the grid's fault transient behaviors have undergone significant changes. However, conventional single-unit equivalent models fail to accurately capture the fault transient responses of combined wind-solar-hydro power stations and often require substantial computational resources, leading to reduced simulation efficiency. This study proposes a cluster-based equivalent modeling approach for hybrid wind-solar-hydro power plants using the Sparrow Search Algorithm. key factors influencing fault characteristics, including the distance to the Point of Common Coupling, DC-side current-limiting measures, irradiance levels, water flow rates, wind speeds, and reactive power at the outlet, are identified and used to construct a transient model. Euclidean distances are computed for these factors, and initial clustering centers for wind turbines are determined using an improved max–min distance technique. These factors and clustering centers serve as the training dataset to establish the clustering equivalent model. simulation results, conducted on the MATLAB2022 platform, demonstrate that the SSA-based model outperforms the single-unit equivalent model by over 150 times in terms of accuracy. Additionally, the SSA-based model achieves a delay time, defined as the time required to compute the system's transient response after a fault, of less than 5 ms, which is less than one-twentieth of the delay time of the single-unit equivalent model. These improvements highlight the model's ability to accurately capture dynamic power responses under various disturbances, making it highly suitable for real-time applications in hybrid renewable energy systems. © The Author(s) 2025.

The electromagnetic transient simulation acceleration algorithm based on delay mitigation of dynamic critical paths

The task scheduling problem based on directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) has been proven to be NP-complete in general cases or under certain restrictions. In this paper, building upon existing scheduling algorithms, we introduce a static task scheduling algorithm based on directed acyclic graphs. By incorporating the proportion of task transmission delay as a guiding metric in the optimization process, processors can be prioritized for tasks with high latency, thereby improving computational efficiency. We first validate the theoretical feasibility of the algorithm using a theoretical case study and illustrate the algorithmic effectiveness using two real case studies, direct current (DC) model and alternating current (AC) model respectively. The research indicates that the scheduling algorithm proposed in this paper achieves an average scheduling length improvement of over 1.2% compared to the Heterogeneous Earliest-Finish-Time algorithm (HEFT) in topologies with high latency tasks. Additionally, the experiments show that the HEFT algorithm consumes 39.85us and the EMT-DM algorithm consumes 38.29us during simulation using DC, and the HEFT algorithm consumes 31.23us and the EMT-DM algorithm consumes 26.51us during simulation using AC, both of which are improved compared to the HEFT algorithm. © The Author(s) 2025.

Particle-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in typical urban of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau:Characterization,sources and risk assessment

Monthly particle-phase ambient samples collected at six sampling locations in Yuxi,a high-altitude city on the edge of Southeast Asia,were measured for particle-associated *** trace substances,polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are susceptible to the influences of meteorological conditions,emissions,and gas-particulate partitioning and it is challenging job to precise quantify the source and define the transmission *** daily concentrations of total PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs ranged from 0.65 to 80.76 ng/m^(3),with an annual mean of 11.94 ng/m^(3).Here,we found that the concentration of PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs in winter was significantly higher than that in summer,which was mainly due to source and meteorology *** increase of fossil combustion and biomass burning in cold season became the main contributors of PAHs,while precipitation and low temperature exacerbated this *** to the concentration variation trend of PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs and their relationship with meteorological conditions,a new grouping of PAHs is applied,which suggested that PAHs have different environmental fates and migration paths.A combination of source analysis and trajectory model supported local sources from combustion of fossil fuel and vehicle exhaust contributed to the major portion on PAHs in particle,but on the Indochina Peninsula the large number of pollutants emitted by biomass burning during the fire season would affect the composition of PAHs through long-range *** assessment in spatial and temporal variability suggested that citizens living in industrial areas were higher health risk caused by exposure the PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs than that in other regions,and the risk in winter was three times than in summer.

Efficient production of hydrogen peroxide in microbial reverse-electrodialysis cells coupled with thermolytic solutions

H_(2)O_(2) was produced at an appreciable rate in microbial reverse-electrodialysis cells(MRCs)coupled with thermolytic solutions,which can simultaneously capture waste heat as electrical *** determine the optimal cathode and membrane stack configurations for H_(2)O_(2) production,different catalysts,catalyst loadings and numbers of membrane cell pairs were *** black(CB)outperformed activated carbon(AC)for H_(2)O_(2) production,although AC showed higher catalytic activity for oxygen *** optimum CB loading was 10 mg/cm^(2) in terms of both the H_(2)O_(2) production rate and power *** optimum number of cell pairs was determined to be three based on a tradeoff between H_(2)O_(2) production and capital costs.A H_(2)O_(2) production rate as high as 0.99±0.10 mmol/(L·h)was achieved with 10 mg/cm^(2) CB loading and 3 cell pairs,where the H_(2)O_(2) recovery efficiency was 52±2%and the maximum power density was 780±37 mW/m^(2).Increasing the number of cell pairs to five resulted in an increase in maximum power density(980±21 mW/m^(2))but showed limited effects on H_(2)O_(2) *** results indicated that MRCs can be an efficient method for sustainable H_(2)O_(2) production.

Online Optimization to Suppress the Grid-Injected Power Deviation of Wind Farms with Battery-Hydrogen Hybrid Energy Storage Systems

To address the issue of coordinated control of multiple hydrogen and battery storage units to suppress the grid-injected power deviation of wind farms,an online optimization strategy for Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage systems based on measurement feedback is ***,considering the high charge/discharge losses of hydrogen storage and the low energy density of battery storage,an operational optimization objective is established to enable adaptive energy adjustment in the Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage ***,an online optimization model minimizing the operational cost of the hybrid system is constructed to suppress grid-injected power deviations with satisfying the operational constraints of hydrogen storage and ***,utilizing the online measurement of the energy states of hydrogen storage and batteries,an online optimization strategy based on measurement feedback is *** study results show:before and after smoothing the fluctuations in wind power,the time when the power exceeded the upper and lower limits of the grid-injected power accounted for 24.1%and 1.45%of the total time,respectively,the proposed strategy can effectively keep the grid-injected power deviations of wind farms within the allowable *** storage and batteries respectively undertake long-term and short-term charge/discharge tasks,effectively reducing charge/discharge losses of the Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage systems and improving its operational efficiency.

Lithium-ion batteries' state of health (SOH) is critical to safely managing electric vehicles (EVs). This paper proposes a battery health prognostic framework based on charging data for real-world EVs. First, the capacity of the battery is calculated using the ampere-hour integration method based on historical charging data. The capacity trend is fitted using the locally weighted linear regression (LWLR) algorithm and the effect of charging depth on the capacity calculation results is eliminated. Then, the features strongly correlated with battery capacity are extracted using Pearson correlation analysis (PCA). Finally, Gaussian process regression (GPR) is employed to establish the capacity estimation model of lithium-ion batteries. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method are validated on EVs from different regions. The results indicate that the mean absolute error (MAE) and the root mean square error (RMSE) of the estimated capacity on the test set are both less than 0.5. © 2024 IEEE.
