Wind power outputs fluctuate with the changing of wind speed. The use of energy storage equipment is considered a reasonable solution to suppress wind power fluctuations. An energy storage mode may have its disadvantages over the others, for example, capacity limits, dynamic response, higher prices or shorter lifetime. Moreover, wind power fluctuations are present at different frequencies, to demand the energy storage to offer power support in different time ranges. To improve the performance, in this paper, a combined energy storage mode is discussed to meet the short-term and longterm energy storage requirement for wind power. Short-term energy storage is designed to meet the fast-changing power, using such as super capacitors. Long-term energy is designed to meet the large-scale capacity requirement using Li-ion battery or Vanadium Redox Battery(VRB). By analyzing the actual data of wind power outputs, the capacities of the two kinds of energy storage means are given as an example of the method.

In the paper, a new multi-sensor platform for adaptive driving assistance system is introduced. The platform is composed of multi-radar, multi-camera, combined positioning and navigation equipment, and some information can also be obtained from vehicle CAN bus. With the platform and the technique such as multicast network, the information such as road edges, lane marking, traffic marking, obstacles, other vehicles and pedestrians, position and velocity, acceleration and so on has be obtained during the vehicle is moving. The vehicle's moving state can be control with decision strategy module of ADAS based on the information. The experiments results show that the platform can complete the mission of information perception module of ADAS efficiently and accurately.

Pedestrian protective performance is an indivisible part of Euro NCAP assessment protocol, and which requirements are increasing continuously. To meet the stricter requirements, the pace of development in pedestrian countermeasures is increasing rapidly. In the study, the tibia acceleration and knee bending angle failed to satisfy the performance rating aimed at Euro NCAP five stars after the lower legform impact test. Using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) modeling, the performance of the energy absorber and lower stiffener was analyzed for knee bending angle, tibia acceleration, and knee shear displacement, and then the improvement of bumper structure for lower leg protection is given through a combination of material properties and design within current styling and packaging space. The legform impact test results demonstrated that the new bumper structure can get the higher score rating for pedestrian lower leg.

Since the resources from environment are in short supply, it is necessary to alleviate the conflict between high-speed economic construction and limited resources in the Chinese society. This paper aims to analysis the variation of natural resources input into China during 2000-2007 based on extended exergy as an eco-centric metric. With the materials, labor, capital and environmental renovation quantified by exergy numeraire grounding on the second-law metric in view of ecological accounting, the composition and proportion of extended exergy clearly revealed the whole condition of available energy input into society in China. Moreover, two indexes, i.e., extended exergy consumption intensity and extended exergy productivity of natural resources, are proposed to depict the contribution of four different production factors from economic, social and environmental aspects, respectively. Moreover, the extended exergy based analysis of the Chinese society may be helpful in uncovering the long-term resource depletion and promoting efficiency of the resource transformation in the social-economic-environmental system, thus providing holistic method and systematic view for the decision makers with respect to environmental management.
