Ecosystem services valuation is a widely accepted method to evaluating an ecosystem. And the similar calculating methods that different researchers adopt have a mutual shortage that it can not express the spatial differentiation of ecosystem. This article brings forward approaches to improve the method by eliminating area factor and adding structure character factor, especially emphasizing the significant effect of landscape pattern fragmentation. Additionally, a case study indicates that the improved method can get more abundant and more effective results than the original one.

This paper presents a method called Event-based Incremental Update of Spatial-Temporal Database. By studying the event-based incremental update of spatial-temporal database, proposed event-based incremental information model, including incremental information modeling and the description method of incremental information based on XML, established the overall framework of the incremental update, including: event queue, spatial-temporal database, 3 agencies, 2 rules, and described the process of its implementation.

As is known, it is of extreme importance to enhance the traffic safety by all means, of which vehicle colors may serve as one of the key influential factors to be considered. To study the different brain activities on vision of different colored cars, the event-related brain potentials (ERPs) were induced using the red and blue car pictures. The average response accuracy rate of red car is higher, and the average latency time of red car is shorter. At the same time, red/blue car pictures have different influences on different electrical potentials. It is obtained that the brain energy evoked by red car is larger than that of blue car. It is concluded that red car picture statistically tends to explode the excitement of visual nerves than blue car.

Optimization design of car body based on sensitivity and side crash simulation

A method of lightweight about car body was developed based on the analysis of sensitivity and crashworthiness. First, the thickness of components on car body was used as design variables. The modal and stiffness of car body were the constraint. The weight of car body was the objective of optimization. The sensitivity of the thickness about modal and stiffness was obtained. Based on this sensitivity, the components whose thickness was not sensitive to modal and stiffness of car body were selected as the design variables. Using these design variables, the optimization design was carried out with the minimize weight of car body as objective. The result of optimization made 14.8 kg weight reduction of car body, and guaranteed the performance of stiffness and modal. The simulations of side crash including whole car and occupant restraint system were carried out to the car after lightweight. The performance of crashworthiness and occupant restraint system was validated through comparing the results of before and after lightweight. In order to make the lightweight car body satisfied the requirement of crashworthiness, the thickness of components was modified again according to the results of side crash. The results showed the feasibility of the lightweight method based on sensitivity and side crash simulation.

During the process of Anti-Brake System(ABS) running, the cases of system variables waving are investigated based on automobile dynamic model. Fault modes of actuators and sensors in ABS are built up. And data-fault is acquired. BP neural net works are utilized to fault diagnosis. Finally, simulation examples are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed design.

Abstract-It has long been known that the internal combustion (IC) engine can be significantly improved by the use of variable valve timing (WT) technologies, and the engine designers have been investigating the potential of variable valve train technologies leading to the development of camless engines for many years. In recently years, the variable valve technologies have a great improvement and some valve-train systems have been used to facilitate controlled auto ignition (CAI) combustion, a new concept of internal combustion engine which is one of the key research topics in the international arena. In this paper describes a new electro-hydraulic valve train systems, a research grade system used on single cylinder engines capable of meeting follows specifications: - Each valve can be fully independently controlled - Each valve have a variable valve left and can be latched at a steady lift positions The initial test work has been outspreaded, the concept demonstration rig has been developed and successfully used to facilitate CAI combustion on the internal combustion (IC) engine.

Ecological influence of dam construction and river-lake connectivity on migration fish habitat in the Yangtze River basin, China

Habitat fragment owning to obstruct of dams and barriers badly affect the aquatic faunas. Many spawning sites of migration fishes are lost, and their growth and reproduction are affected. The Yangtze River with connected lakes is the most important fresh water fishery area in China. The Yangtze's four major carp species (YFMCS) are the most typical migration fish lived in this area. They reproduce in river and grow in lake. Distributaries lies between the Yangtze River and Dongting Lake are the passages for these migration fishes. Due to the construction of dams and barriers, some original passages were out of use. Up to now, only four channels exist between the river and lake, there are Songcikou, Taipingkou and Ouchikou normally called “three outlets”, and Chenglingji inlet. Diverted Water Volume (DWV) and the Percentage of Diverted Water (PDW) through the three outlets reflect the relationship between the Yangtze River and the Dongting *** variation of river-lake relation caused by dam construction, and the effect on migration fishes are discussed in this paper. The relationship of DWV and fry output in middle reach of the Yangtze river and the Dongting Lake, PDW and the percentage of the YFMCS in a total catch of fish, DWV and flux of carp fry at the Jianli station, DWV and yield of the YFMCS were analyzed. The results show that dams and barriers constructed on the Yangtze River threaten some fish species in this area, especially the migration fishes. The connectivity degree of river and lake decide the growth and reproduction of emigration fishes, the yield of the YFMCS increase by the DWV increase, and hydraulic project have important influence on reproduction of fishes. In order to reduce the ecological influence of hydropower projects, reservoir management especially in spawning season should integrate ecological demand.

Photovoltaic application of LED lighting has been a hot trend in residential illumination, for it integrates the advantages of both the PV systems and LED lights. However, it has a series of problems, such as high thermal loss, poor reliability, and a short life span. To address these problems, this paper presents a deep research on the whole system from a low-cost, high-efficiency and long-life point of view. A main circuit integrating maximum power point tracing (MPPT) control and battery management, as well as a double-loop control for LED load is developed. A set of protection system is applied to ensure high reliability of the system. The control strategies are tested on the demonstrator and prove to be effective.

As an important component of a wind turbine drive chain, the high failure rate of the gearbox can have a serious impact on the operation of wind turbine units. The fault diagnosis of the gearbox is therefore important for the safety of wind turbine units. In this paper, a gearbox experiment rig was built, experiments on the gear surface spalling fault were held on the rig under laboratory conditions, the shaft vibration displacement signals were collected, related vibration signals were analyzed by time domain, amplitude domain, frequency domain and wavelet analysis, and the results of different analysis methods were compared. The results show that the waveform of normal and fault signals are similar, the amplitude of the signals will change while the fault happens, and the wavelet analysis is more effective than frequency domain analysis on gearbox fault features extraction.

A wind turbine rotor system containing blades has its own characteristics. The vibration characteristics of blades with special airfoil can influence the vibration characteristics of the rotor system. This paper analyzed the vibration characteristics of a wind turbine rotor including blades with two-dimensional airfoil. The Finite Element Method (FEM) is applied to establish the rotor model, with the purpose that the FEM can adjust complex blades airfoils and acquire the details of the blades vibration characteristics. The modal characteristics are extracted based on the wind turbine model established in the laboratory. Using harmonic analysis of FEM, the excitation forces on the blades caused by the stochastic wind load are imposed on the rotor model and the stable response of the rotor system is calculated using ANSYS. Then the vibration characteristics are analyzed and the characteristics of the harmonic response are studied under different phases of the circumferential and axial forces.
