In this paper, a new technology of power steering for in-wheel-motor driven electric vehicles has been developed. Through controlling the driving torque of the two in-wheel traction motors, a proper power steering assist torque can be generated, which can be used to compensate the assist steering torque generated by hydraulic pump or direct power steering motor, or even completely make them unnecessary. Therefore, the power steering system can be designed with more compactness, and operated with high efficiency and less maintenance requirement.

The stamping direction is important for the forming quality of automobile panels. To determine the reasonable direction of the panel, taking the stamping direction vector as design variable based on mesh data of automobile panels, an algorithm model was established based on the criteria such as avoidance of dead angle, minimization of drawing depth, and maximization of initial contact area. The corresponding program module was developed in Visual C++ using unit sperical mesh intersection algorithm to get the feasible stamping direction vector domain rapidly. The feasibility of the algorithm was proved by the creation of stamping directions of some practical parts and the relevant numerical simulation of stamping depth.

The urban fringe, which can be seen as a special form of regional ecosystem with a spatial transition from urban to rural areas, has strong heterogeneity and is a typical ecologically sensitive area. The expansion of cities and the landscape effect of the changes have attracted wide attention. The primary aim of this study is to obtain an understanding of the spatial patterns of landscape conversion and the corresponding environmental sustainability. With the help of GIS and Fragstats software, the changes of landscape patterns before and after town planning were compared in An-Ding town of Beijing, of which the sustainability was also revealed based on the ecological footprint using social and economic statistic data. Theresults showed that the landscape pattern changed greatly during its conversion from several villages to a small town and the landscape fragmentation increased due to road construction. Meanwhile, human disturbance increased with the constructed land extension. For the gap between the ecological footprint and the biological capacity, AnDing town ran an ecological deficit at that period, which means it was unsustainable. However, the environmental sustainability decreased after planning due to the degraded green land and forest. The results suggested that ecological management should be strengthened during the town planning period.

The authors have developed a new type of active engine mount. The active engine mount is consisted of an electromagnetic actuator and an inertia-modulator hydraulic mount. The decoupler's motion is controlled by the dynamic force generated by the electromagnetic actuator .The pressure in the upper chamber is variational, as a result the total output force from the mount to the chassis is controlled. Fuzzy control method was chosen as the control method. Based on force analyses of system parts, a mathematical model of the active engine mount was established. An experimental device was designed and made. The experimental results indicated that the active engine mount can achieve better vibration isolation performance than passive engine mount.

Recent years, due to the shortage of water resources and serious water pollution in several watersheds in China, the research of watershed water environment carrying capacity (WWECC) becomes very important. Dynamic model based vehicle state variables observer is a step towards economical on-board sensing system. However a complex model always leads to a control system with a poor real-time performance, while a simple model cannot exhibit real characteristics of a vehicle. In order to make an accurate and sententious estimate for yaw rate and side slip angle, an ameliorated 2-DOF bicycle model containing UniTire model is introduced. Then two observers based on Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) are introduced. And validity of the two algorithms is verified by simulation test and contrast is brought out respectively. The simulation results show that the UKF based observer performs better in accuracy and computing speed.

Based on the first generation of hybrid electric city bus CA6110HEV developed by FAW (First automobile Workshop) in China, the new generation of hybrid plug-in bus was designed, mainly including the parameters matching for the power-train and power sources. Then simulation platform were developed and established. The dynamic and economy performances were predicted based on the above work, results showed that the designed hybrid plug-in bus can meet the performance demands and validated rationality of the parameters matching.
