To weaken the pulsation of the harmonic magnetic field and improve the wave of the air-gap magnetic field in high voltage motors because of their open slots, magnetic slot wedge should be imbedded into the slot opening. In the paper, through analyzing the air-gap magnetic field distribution of large-scale motors affected by embedding magnetic slot wedges in open slots, the influence of magnetic slot wedge on the motor parameters and performance is discussed in theory. The finite element analysis (FEA) and the experiment results were given, which not only proves the validity of the analysis in the paper, also through the simulation results the proper parameters of magnetic slot wedges for best performance of motors were concluded, which provides a theoretical reference for the manufacturers when choosing or processing magnetic slot wedges.

The dynamic friction property of tire was introduced into the modeling of the tire's combined side and longitudinal slip properties. The effect of the dynamic friction property parameters on the combined tire model was analyzed. The direction of the resultant tangential force respectively within the adhesion and sliding region were established. The combined tire property expression taking into account the dynamic friction property was provided. simulations under different rolling velocity, different road surface and arbitrary lateral and longitudinal friction conditions were carried out. The tire model presented could be a theoretical base for chassis control and provides an effective way for the dynamic analysis of the vehicle.

Investigation of the aerodynamic characteristics of a sedan under crosswinds with increasing velocity was conducted. A user-defined function (UDF) was applied to achieve the dynamic update of the computation meshes and the velocity variation with time for the crosswind inlet. The process of a car passing a zone with increasing crosswind was simulated using a transient numerical method. The results show that crosswind only has slight influence on the drag, rolling moment and pitching moment, while it has considerable influence on the side force, lift and the yawing moment, which increase remarkably with increasing crosswind velocity, and the driving stability of the car is affected as a result.

A co-simulation platform for the traction control system (TCS) was constructed based on MATLAB and AMESim. A dynamic model of the 4WD vehicle and the controller were developed using MATLAB, a dynamic response model for hydraulic brake system was built using AMESim hydraulic module, and the data exchange was realized through AMESim special interface module and MATLAB S function. The hydraulic brake system model was revised by the experimental research. The performance of TCS under the typical conditions was simulated by the co-simulation platform. It can be conducted that a practical co-simulation platform for R and D of TCS has been acquired.

Aiming at the problem that the road lane line image detection is liable to be interfered by the complicated environmental conditions such as the lighting condition and the lane line curvature, leading to the poor stability of the detection algorithm, images recorded during driving on the various typical road conditions, such as the straight road, the curved road, the lightly snowy road and the shadowed road were analyzed for their contrast and regional homogeneity on the basis of the Otsu image threshold segmentation method. The Otsu adaptive lane image threshold segmentation was implemented based on the classical Otsu segmentation algorithm, improving the robustness of the road lane line image detection under the complicated environmental conditions.

This paper proposed a novel geometry compression method using spherical wavelet. Given a manifold triangle mesh with zero genus and arbitrary topology, it is globally parameterized over the unit sphere S2 in E3 firstly. At the same time, by subdividing an icosahedron and projecting all its vertices onto the unit sphere from the center, we can get a spherical triangle mesh with subdivision topology. Then we re-sampling all signals defined on the surface of the original triangle mesh at the vertices of the spherical subdivision mesh and get a set of discrete geometry signals with subdivision topology which can be compressed by using spherical wavelet.

In this paper, an optimal approach based on genetic and simulated annealing algorithm (GASA) is prosposed to design more effective and robust subsynchronous damping control (SSDC) of Static Var Compensator (SVC) for multimodal SSR damping improvement. A practical multi-machine series compensated power system suffering multimodal SSR has been studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach. The developed SSDC comprises independent modal control path, each with separate feedback gains and phase-shifts, to damp different torsional mode. The problem of simultaneously tuning all the control parameters for robust stabilization of multiple torsional modes over various system conditions is formulated into a standardized constrained optimization problem. With the proposed GASA, the problem is efficiently solved and the SVC SSDC is optimized. Both eigenvalue analyses and electromagnetic simulations have been conducted on the test system to validate the approach and the designed SVC-based SSDC.
