Review on carbon storage estimation of forest ecosystem and applications in China

Background:The accuracy in estimating forest ecosystem carbon storage has drawn extensive attention of researchers in the field of global climate ***,incomparable data sources and various estimation methods have led to significant differences in the estimation of forest carbon storage at large ***:In this study,we reviewed fundamental types of forest carbon storage estimation methods and their applications in ***:Results showed that the major forest carbon storage estimation methods were classified into 3 major categories and 15 subcategories focusing on vegetation carbon storage estimation,soil carbon storage estimation,and litter carbon storage estimation,*** application in China showed that there have been 3 development stages of research in China since the *** of forest carbon storage estimation in province scales were conducted more frequently in the northeastern,eastern and southwestern provinces such as Zhejiang,Heilongjiang and Sichuan with high forest coverage or large forest ***-based methods,soil type method,and biomass model were the main forest estimation methods used in China,focusing on vegetation,soil and litter carbon storage estimation *** forest carbon storage of China was approximate 28.90 Pg C,and the average vegetation carbon density(42.04±5.39 Mg·ha?1)was much lower than that of the whole world(71.60 Mg·ha?1).Vegetation carbon density from average biomass method was the highest(57.07 Mg·ha?1)through comparing nine types of vegetation carbon storage estimation methods applied during 1989 to ***:Many studies on forest carbon storages have been carried out in China at patch scales or regional *** efforts enabled the research of forest carbon storage to reach a relatively advanced ***,the accumulation of massive research data provides the basis for subsequent research *** challenges are also *** review could provide a

Corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)has exerted a profound adverse impact on human *** have demonstrated that aerosol transmission is one of the major transmission routes of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Pathogenic microorganisms such as SARS-CoV-2 can survive in the air and cause widespread infection among *** monitoring of pathogenic microorganism transmission in the atmosphere and accurate epidemic prediction are the frontier guarantee for preventing large-scale epidemic *** of pathogenic microorganisms in the air,especially in densely populated areas,may raise the possibility to detect viruses before people are widely infected and contain the epidemic at an earlier *** multi-scale coupled accurate epidemic prediction system can provide support for governments to analyze the epidemic situation,allocate health resources,and formulate epidemic response *** review first elaborates on the effects of the atmospheric environment on pathogenic microorganism transmission,which lays a theoretical foundation for the monitoring and prediction of epidemic ***,the monitoring technique development and the necessity of monitoring pathogenic microorganisms in the atmosphere are summarized and ***,this review introduces the major epidemic prediction methods and highlights the significance to realize a multi-scale coupled epidemic prediction system by strengthening the multidisciplinary cooperation of epidemiology,atmospheric sciences,environmental sciences,sociology,demography,*** summarizing the achievements and challenges in monitoring and prediction of pathogenic microorganism transmission in the atmosphere,this review proposes suggestions for epidemic response,namely,the establishment of an integrated monitoring and prediction platform for pathogenic microorganism transmission in the atmosphere.

Identifying priority areas of Four Major Chinese carps’ species in the Pearl River basin based on the MaxEnt model

The Pearl River basin (PRB) is an important producing area and the gene pool of wild resources of Four Major Chinese carps (FMCC). However human activities and climate changes causes the area shrink of the river network in PRB, the pollution aggregation, the serious habitat destroy of aquatic organisms, and the threat of biological resources and their living environment. Based on the accurate location and distribution data of FMCC from the literature and the field survey report of 2015–2016, this study used the MaxEnt model to predict the hot spot distribution area of FMCC in PRB. The simulation results show that the distribution of FMCC in the PRB gradually increases from the upper reaches to the middle and lower reaches. According to the MaxEnt model, the hot spots of FMCC in the PRB are mainly distributed in the south reaches and the lower reaches of the southeast. The model simulation also demonstrates that the hottest spots for the distribution of FMCC species in the PRB are the Yujiang basin, the Qianjiang basin and the lower reaches of the Xijiang basin. This study can provide the scientific guidance for the protection and the restoration of FMCC species in the PRB. © 2022 The Authors

Only the electromagnetic force on the stator is applied when calculating the radiated noise of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) in the industry. And the influence of rotor excitation on the noise of PMSM is not considered. This paper studies the loading method of rotor excitation firstly. The centralized force is applied to the rotor which simplified with superelement. Secondly, the modal results of the motor assembly simplified with superelement are compared with the modal results of the motor assembly without simplified. The correctness of simplifying the rotor with the superelement is verified in this paper. Finally, the motor noise under three working conditions is calculated. The comparison results show that the rotor excitation has little effect on the main order noise of the PMSM. The reason why the rotor electromagnetic excitation is not considered when calculating motor noise in the industry is answered. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

To achieve large-scale renewable energy, grid friendly coordination and the need to maximize grid-connection and consumption functions, the clustering method has become a forward-looking solution for distribution network planning, construction and dispatching control. In this paper, the modularity index and active power balance index based on electrical distance are taken as the comprehensive classification index. Then genetic algorithm is introduced to divide the distributed PV cluster in the distribution network. Finally, a 10kV distribution system is taken as an example, and the distributed photovoltaic cluster planning is simulated and analyzed, which proves that the distributed photovoltaic cluster division method is effective. © 2023 IEEE.

With the continuous improvement of road traffic safety standards, the impact of pavement damage on the safety and operational efficiency of vehicle travelling has received increasing attention from researchers. In this paper, a YOLOv8-based automatic pavement damage detection and damage condition assessment method is proposed to automatically detect the pavement damage condition using YOLOv8-seg. In addition, intelligent road maintenance solutions are discussed. The YOLOv8-seg model was chosen because it strikes a good balance between speed and accuracy for real-time pavement breakage pothole segmentation. Migration learning was implemented to tune the pre-trained YOLOv8-seg model for effective pothole detection and segmentation. In addition, lane line detection is accomplished using SCNN and MATLAB to improve the efficiency and accuracy of road maintenance and ensure the safe operation of vehicles. The method not only has the potential to improve the current situation of road maintenance, but also provides strong technical support for the sustainable development of automated driving technology in practical applications.

A framework of day-ahead wind supply power forecasting by risk scenario perception

Wind power forecasting (WPF) systems are essential to maintain the safe and stable operation of the power system in case of large-scale grid-connected wind farms. However, the current forecasting has the problem of disunity between statistical value and application value, that is, it only pays attention to its forecasting accuracy and ignores the risks caused by it in the power system. In order to solve the above problems, this study proposes a framework of wind supply power forecasting (WSPF) for wind farm cluster, which takes into account the risk scenario perception. First of all, aiming at the predicted risk phenomenon in WPF, TimesNet combined with the fluctuation information of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) wind speed is used to identify the corresponding risk scenarios. Secondly, the effective consumption area and power supply risk area evaluation index, as well as the accuracy of WSPF are defined, and the optimal forecasting curve correction scheme is fitted according to the index. Thirdly, taking into account the correction scheme and identification results, a variety of predictors are used to verify the WSPF according to the above framework. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a wind farm cluster in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region of China, the average accuracy of WSPF has increased by 37%, which verifies the effectiveness and universality of this method. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

The occurrence of ice disasters poses a great threat to the normal transmission system operation. To better complete the toughness evaluation of the system under ice disaster, firstly, an attack model considering the instantaneous wind speed and accumulated ice thickness of the line is established. Secondly, combined with the disaster degree of the line and the initial design data, the fault probability of the line is estimated, and the system load reduction model is used to determine the affected degree of the system. Then, a resilience evaluation index focusing on the degree of system damage under extreme ice disasters is proposed. Taking the IEEE-39 bus system as an example, the feasibility of the proposed index is verified, and two elastic improvement measures are adopted to verify the practicability of the index. The simulation results of an example show that this resilience evaluation index can directly reflect the impact of extreme ice disasters on the resilience of the transmission system and can better see the effect of different resilience improvement methods on the resilience of the transmission system. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu.
