Inactivation of Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria and Degradation of Plasmid-Encoded Antibiotic Resistance Genes in Groundwater by Conventional Ozonation and Electro-Peroxone Process

The electro-peroxone (EP) process is an emerging advanced oxidation process that combines ozonation with electrochemical hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) production to drive the peroxone (O 3 /H 2 O 2 ) process for water treatment. Prior studies have shown that the EP process can considerably enhance ozone-resistant pollutant abatement and mitigate bromate formation during water treatment compared to conventional ozonation. This study further compared the inactivation of antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB) and the degradation of plasmid-encoded antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) during groundwater treatment by conventional ozonation and the EP process. Due to the enhanced transformation of ozone (O 3 ) to hydroxyl radicals (•OH) by electro-generated H 2 O 2 , higher •OH exposures, but lower O 3 exposures were obtained during the EP process than conventional ozonation. The inverse change of O 3 and •OH exposures decreases the efficiency of ARB inactivation and ARG degradation moderately during the EP process compared to conventional ozonation. These results suggest that regarding ARB inactivation and ARG degradation, the decrease of O 3 exposures cannot be fully compensated by the increase of •OH exposures during the EP process. However, due to the increase of •OH exposure, plasmid DNA was more thoroughly cleaved to shorter fragments during the EP process than conventional ozonation, which may decrease the risks of natural transformation of ARGs in the treated water. The results of this study highlight that the influence of the EP process on ARB and ARGs inactivation needs to be taken into account when implementing this process to enhance micropollutant abatement in water treatment. © 2022, The Authors. Bionic Optimization for Cooling Structure of Gan Hemts Inspired by Leaf Vein Structure

Inspired by the leaf vein structure, this article proposes cooling structures with tapered contracting manifold and fractal feature, to optimize the cold plate structure for high heat flux gallium nitride high electron mobility transistors (GaN HEMTs). The correlation between the fluid flow distribution in channels and the temperature uniformity of chips is investigated. The performance of the designed Bionic Structures is compared with that of the traditional Parallel Structure in terms of fluid flow characteristics, heat transfer characteristics and comprehensive performance. Results show that the Bionic Structures with tapered contracting manifold and fractal feature improve the fluid flow uniformity by up to 44.1% and the temperature uniformity of chips by up to 65.0%, while reducing the pressure drop by up to 24.7% and the convective heat transfer resistance by up to 32.8%. The comprehensive performance is also significantly improved. This article demonstrates the great potential of bionic cooling structure for breaking through the thermal management limit of high heat flux power chips. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Single-atom catalysts were widely used to treat atmospheric pollution and alleviate energy crises through ***,how to prevent the aggregation of single atoms during the preparation and catalytic processes remained a great ***,a novel ultrathin two-dimensional porphyrin-based single-atom photocatalyst Ti-MOF(abbreviated as TMPd)obtained through a simple hydrothermal synthesis strategy was used for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and NO removal,in which the singleatom Pd tightly anchored in the center of porphyrin to ensure single-atom Pd stable *** with most reported MOFs-based photocatalysts,the TMPd showed an excellent hydrogen evolution rate(1.32 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1))and the NO removal efficiency(62%)under visible light *** high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscope(HAADF-STEM)and synchrotron-radiation-based X-ray absorption fine-structure spectroscopy(XAFS)proved that pd in TMPd existed in an isolated state,and the atomic force microscope(AFM)proved the ultrathin morphology of *** calculations had demonstrated that single-atom Pd could serve as the active center and more effectively achieve electron transfer,indicating that single-atom Pd played a vital role in photocatalytic hydrogen *** addition,a possible photocatalytic pathway of NO removal was proposed based on ESR and in-situ infrared spectra,in which the catalysts anchored with single-atom Pd could produce more active substances and more effectively oxidize NO to NO_(2)^(-)or NO_(3)^(-).The results suggested that coordinating single-atom metal species as the active site in the center of porphyrin could be a feasible strategy to obtain various ultrathin porphyrin-based single-atom photocatalysts to acquire excellent photocatalytic performance further.

HMAFlow: Learning More Accurate Optical Flow via Hierarchical Motion Field Alignment

Optical flow estimation is a fundamental and longstanding visual task. In this work, we present a novel method, dubbed HMAFlow, to improve optical flow estimation in challenging scenes, particularly those involving small objects. The proposed model mainly consists of two core components: a Hierarchical Motion Field Alignment (HMA) module and a Correlation Self-Attention (CSA) module. In addition, we rebuild 4D cost volumes by employing a Multi-Scale Correlation Search (MCS) layer and replacing average pooling in common cost volumes with a search strategy utilizing multiple search ranges. Experimental results demonstrate that our model achieves the best generalization performance compared to other state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, compared with RAFT, our method achieves relative error reductions of 14.2% and 3.4% on the clean pass and final pass of the Sintel online benchmark, respectively. On the KITTI test benchmark, HMAFlow surpasses RAFT and GMA in the Fl-all metric by relative margins of 6.8% and 7.7%, respectively. The dynamics of the composition and antibiotic resistance of the fecal coliform bacteria(FCB)in a typical wastewater treatment plant(WWTP)were investigated concerning the seasonal *** showed that WWTP could remove the FCB concentration by 3∼5 logs within the effluent of 10^(4)∼10^(5)CFU/L,but the antibiotic resistant rate of FCB species increased significantly after *** dominant FCB changed from Escherichia coli in the influent(∼73.0%)to Klebsiella pneumoniae in the effluent(∼53.3%)after WWTP,where the Escherichia coli was removed the most,while Klebsiella pneumoniae was the most *** secondary tank removed the most of FCB(by 3∼4 logs)compared to other processes,but increased all the concerned antibiotic resistant *** potential super bugs of FCB community showing resistance to all the target antibiotics were selected in the biological treatment unit of *** FCB showed the highest multiple antibiotic resistance(92.9%)in total which even increased to 100%in the *** has the highest antibiotic resistant rate in FCB,with a multiple antibiotic resistance rate of 98.4%.These indicated that the Klebsiella pneumoniae not just Escherichia coli should be specially emphasized after WWTP concerning the health risk associated with FCB community.

Facile Construction of Bio-Inspired, Fluorine-Free, Durable and Superhydrophobic 3d Sponges with Multi-Path Oil/Water Separation, Self-Cleaning Performance And Flame Retardancy Based on Waste Polyurethane Foam

For the sake of solving the crucial problem for the recycling of waste polyurethane sponges (PU) resource and the environment pollution of oil spills simultaneously, inspired by natural super-hydrophobic/super-lipophilic phenomenon, this work has exploited a multifunctional super-hydrophobic 3D materials via a facile and effective one-step dip-coating method for achieving the goal of oil-water separation accorded with the principle of "waste for waste", which have been prepared by anchoring modified Fe3O4 and ultrafine expandable graphite (EG) on the surface of PU under the adhesion effect of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The as-prepared PU sponges have displayed the static water contact angles of 154.1±1.6° and sliding angles of 8° that the superhydrophobicity with low water adhesion has been attained owing to the hierarchical rough surface structure with low surface energy. Most importantly, the superhydrophobic PU sponges have possessed the multi-path oil treatment capacities, which are consisted of magnetically-driven, gravity-driven, vacuum-driven and photothermal-driven modes. Besides, the light oil absorption capacity, separation flux and separation efficiency for superhydrophobic PU sponges can reach as high as 23.9 g/g, 27779 L/(m*h) and 99.5%, respectively. Especially, with the photothermal conversion ability of black Fe3O4 and EG, the prepared superhydrophobic PU can be heated to 71.5 °C within 233 s under the intensity of 1.2 sunlight solar irradiation, demonstrating its absorption potential for high-viscosity crude oils. In addition, the prepared sponges have displayed good chemical stability and mechanical stability, which are of great significance in the real-life application. Except that, the excellent self-cleaning behavior and flame retardancy of as-prepared PU can be also acquired. To allocate driving privilege in a reasonable way in shared control for intelligent vehicle, the study on driving capability, the unified driver model for ADAS in the longitudinal and lateral scenarios was proposed, which can improve the safety and comfort for intelligent vehicles as well. Driving capability is defined and analyzed and car-following stimulate in longitudinal scenario and moving double lane change stimulate in lateral scenario were designed. Data collection was conducted in Driver-In-the-Loop Intelligent simulation Platform (DILISP). Driving capability identification model was established basing on Hammerstein process and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was used to decouple and reduce the dimension for the key parameters in Hammerstein identification model. The classification is done basing on the particle clustering algorithm and the evaluation equation for driving capability was calculated by Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). Results show that the proposed evaluation method for driving capability in the longitudinal and lateral scenarios can achieve accurate and reliable evaluation results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Distributed photovoltaic systems can actively contribute to the primary frequency regulation of the power grid by reserving capacity. Traditional power reduction methods often employ fixed load reduction ratios, potentially resulting in inadequate frequency regulation capacity and unnecessary reserve power. This paper centers on optimizing power reserve control, starting with the construction of a two-stage model for a photovoltaic grid-connected inverter power generation system. It includes the design of a maximum power estimation method and the implementation of photovoltaic power reduction operation. The article proposes a strategy to utilize photovoltaic backup capacity for achieving primary frequency modulation effects in a short time scale. Additionally, it adopts a variable power reserve ratio operation strategy over the long term, aiming to enhance photovoltaic power generation and optimize solar energy utilization without compromising the grid's frequency and quality. Finally, a MATLAB/Simulink model is developed to validate the effectiveness of the control strategy. simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy satisfies frequency regulation requirements, enhances power generation efficiency, and improves the economic viability of photovoltaic operations. © 2024, The Authors. The point clouds obtained by Lidar can provide detailed information of objects in three-dimensional space. Due to the irregularity and sparsity of the point clouds, the Pillar Feature Net is used to encode features from point clouds and project the tensor onto a pseudo-image. A lightweight multi-scale feature fusion module is proposed to improve the multi-scale detection performance of the backbone by sufficiently integrating semantic features and spatial features. In addition, to improve the localization accuracy, a novel parallel attention mechanism is further proposed, effectively encodes spatial and channel attention together. Therefore, the local features and global features are combined better for the long-range representation of the network. This paper present a point clouds-based 3D object detector with an efficient attention mechanism. The mAP3D and mAPBEV of the model have been respectively improved by 1.65% and 2.14% basically, which prove the effectiveness of the model. The comparative experiment on the KITTI benchmark dataset shows that the proposed method effectively improves the accuracy with only a few parameters increases. © 2021 IEEE.

In order to comprehensively track and monitor battery performance across time domains and perform efficient thermal management. This article first summarized the research progress and status quo of battery aging models, and then coupled it with thermoelectric models to obtain the evolution of battery characteristic parameters during battery decay. From the perspective of the battery life cycle, it explored the thermal safety control and overheating prevention technology of power batteries, proposed a feed-forward heat management strategy, and took cooling measures in advance to prevent the increase in heat production caused by aging. The results show that the feed-forward thermal management strategy can ensure the cooling effect of the cooling system on the battery in the later stage of aging. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
