Distributed photovoltaic systems can actively contribute to the primary frequency regulation of the power grid by reserving capacity. Traditional power reduction methods often employ fixed load reduction ratios, potentially resulting in inadequate frequency regulation capacity and unnecessary reserve power. This paper centers on optimizing power reserve control, starting with the construction of a two-stage model for a photovoltaic grid-connected inverter power generation system. It includes the design of a maximum power estimation method and the implementation of photovoltaic power reduction operation. The article proposes a strategy to utilize photovoltaic backup capacity for achieving primary frequency modulation effects in a short time scale. Additionally, it adopts a variable power reserve ratio operation strategy over the long term, aiming to enhance photovoltaic power generation and optimize solar energy utilization without compromising the grid's frequency and quality. Finally, a MATLAB/Simulink model is developed to validate the effectiveness of the control strategy. simulation results indicate that the proposed strategy satisfies frequency regulation requirements, enhances power generation efficiency, and improves the economic viability of photovoltaic operations. © 2024, The Authors. The point clouds obtained by Lidar can provide detailed information of objects in three-dimensional space. Due to the irregularity and sparsity of the point clouds, the Pillar Feature Net is used to encode features from point clouds and project the tensor onto a pseudo-image. A lightweight multi-scale feature fusion module is proposed to improve the multi-scale detection performance of the backbone by sufficiently integrating semantic features and spatial features. In addition, to improve the localization accuracy, a novel parallel attention mechanism is further proposed, effectively encodes spatial and channel attention together. Therefore, the local features and global features are combined better for the long-range representation of the network. This paper present a point clouds-based 3D object detector with an efficient attention mechanism. The mAP3D and mAPBEV of the model have been respectively improved by 1.65% and 2.14% basically, which prove the effectiveness of the model. The comparative experiment on the KITTI benchmark dataset shows that the proposed method effectively improves the accuracy with only a few parameters increases. © 2021 IEEE.

HMAFlow: Learning More Accurate Optical Flow via Hierarchical Motion Field Alignment

Optical flow estimation is a fundamental and longstanding visual task. In this work, we present a novel method, dubbed HMAFlow, to improve optical flow estimation in challenging scenes, particularly those involving small objects. The proposed model mainly consists of two core components: a Hierarchical Motion Field Alignment (HMA) module and a Correlation Self-Attention (CSA) module. In addition, we rebuild 4D cost volumes by employing a Multi-Scale Correlation Search (MCS) layer and replacing average pooling in common cost volumes with a search strategy utilizing multiple search ranges. Experimental results demonstrate that our model achieves the best generalization performance compared to other state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, compared with RAFT, our method achieves relative error reductions of 14.2% and 3.4% on the clean pass and final pass of the Sintel online benchmark, respectively. On the KITTI test benchmark, HMAFlow surpasses RAFT and GMA in the Fl-all metric by relative margins of 6.8% and 7.7%, respectively. Decompression load calculation of civil aircraft usually focus on pressurized compartments. However, It is also required that the effects of sudden discharge of cabin pressure into normally unpressurized external compartments adjacent to the pressure vessel be evaluated. Sudden venting of cabin pressure into an external compartment that is not intended to carry significant pressure loads can cause hazard to the airplane by loss of structural integrity or damage to critical systems. This article mainly analyzes the influencing factors of the maximum decompression load in the unpressurized compartment of civil aircraft, and identifies the most critical influencing factors that affect the decompression load in the unpressurized compartment.

In order to comprehensively track and monitor battery performance across time domains and perform efficient thermal management. This article first summarized the research progress and status quo of battery aging models, and then coupled it with thermoelectric models to obtain the evolution of battery characteristic parameters during battery decay. From the perspective of the battery life cycle, it explored the thermal safety control and overheating prevention technology of power batteries, proposed a feed-forward heat management strategy, and took cooling measures in advance to prevent the increase in heat production caused by aging. The results show that the feed-forward thermal management strategy can ensure the cooling effect of the cooling system on the battery in the later stage of aging. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Mounting errors are a disruptive factor in gear utilization. This paper investigates the contribution of mounting error components in helical gears to the helix slope deviation using the involute equations. A model of the helical gear transmission system has been established, by which the impact of mounting errors on the loaded transmission error and contact ratio of the bevel gear transmission was studied using the Loaded Tooth Contact Analysis method. A bench test was then casted as a verification of this model. A methodology was proposed for optimizing the micro modification of helical gear flanks based on contact ratio control. Robust optimization of the mounting error was achieved by reducing the contact ratio under commonly used torques compared to the contact ratio at the local minimum of the loaded peak-to-peak transmission error. This approach has been demonstrated to enhance the robustness of gear transmission against mounting errors and torque fluctuations. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Excessive carbon dioxide (CO2) emission has been challenges to regional sustainable development. In this study, an ecological-network input–output clustering (ENIOC) model is developed to analyze CO2 emission system. ENIOC can recognize the complex characteristics and relationships within CO2 emission system from network and statistical perspectives. ENIOC is applied to Jiangsu. Some major findings are as follows: (i) electricity-heat supply and metal smelting industries are dominant CO2 emission contributors (i.e., 16.4% and 12.3% of the total CO2 emission, respectively);also, they provide plenty of carbon-intensive products for supporting construction and heavy industries;(ii) the CO2 emission system is relatively unstable;optimize the structure of key pathways (e.g., mining → metal smelting → metal products) could mitigate CO2 emission across the supply chain;(iii) CO2 mitigation policy should focus on the sectors in cluster 2 (e.g., chemical, metal product and equipment industries) to reduce their dependency on carbon-intensive products from other sectors;CO2 mitigation policy also should focus on metal smelting and electricity-heat supply industries (i.e., the sectors in cluster 3) to improve their efficiencies of energy use. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The whole county photovoltaic (PV) development will have an impact on the voltage level of the distribution network due to high penetration of PVs. Firstly, the mechanism of distributed PV to raise voltage level is explored. Then, based on Monte Carlo simulation, the analysis method of the influence of PV configuration uncertainty on voltage is proposed. Finally, the back/forward power flow calculation is adopted, taking a 10kV 88-node feeder in Jiangsu as an example. The voltage level under the current condition, the voltage level after adding planned PV capacity and the maximum PV hosting capacity are calculated and analyzed, which provides reference for the promotion of whole-county-PV development in China. © VDE VERLAG GMBH ∙ Berlin ∙ Offenbach.

The acquisition of multi-dimensional traffic information and constantly increasing computational power enable sophisticated control techniques to be applied in cruise control system. This study proposes a predictive cruise control (PCC) scheme based on model predictive control, which is formulated as a multi-objective nonlinear optimization problem. In order to facilitate the proposed PCC to deal with different driving conditions, a clustering method is used to identify the driving state of the preceding vehicle. Then, Bayesian optimization method is adopted to learn the optimal weighting parameters in the multi-objective optimization function, which can improve the control performance. simulation results show that 2.83% fuel-saving rate can be obtained by applying Bayesian optimization method compared to fixed weighting parameters while maintaining good tracking ability and driving comfort. © 2021 IEEE.

The Effect of Mg/Si Ratio on the Microstructure and Tensile Properties of Twin-Roll-Casting Al-Mg-Si Alloys

In this work, two types of Al-Mg-Si strips with different Mg/Si ratios were fabricated by vertical-type twin-roll casting (TRC), and the effect of the Mg/Si ratio on microstructure and tensile properties of the TRC strips was investigated. The TRC strips show the heterogeneous structure, composed of columnar dendrites near the surface of both sides and near-equiaxed grains in the central region. Serious central segregation of eutectic phases occurred in the TRC strips with Mg/Si=0.5 (S0.5), while no obvious central segregation was found in the strips with Mg/Si=2.9 (S2.9), which was ascribed to the different solidification path. The low Mg/Si ratio promoted precipitation during ageing, which resulted in an increase of 85 MPa in yield strength compared to the S2.9 sample. However, intergranular fracture occurred in the S0.5 sample, leading to the lower uniform elongation. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
