Cobalamin(B_(12)),an essential nutrient and growth cofactor for many living organisms on Earth,can be fully synthesized only by selected prokaryotes in ***,microbial communities related to B_(12) biosynthesis could serve as an example subsystem to disentangle the underlying ecological mechanisms balancing the function and taxonomic make-up of complex functional *** anchoring microbial traits potentially involved in B_(12) biosynthesis,we depict the biogeographic patterns of B_(12) biosynthesis genes and the taxa harboring them in the global ocean,despite the limitations of detecting de novo B_(12) synthesizers via metagenomes *** the taxonomic and functional composition of B_(12) biosynthesis genes were strongly shaped by depth,differentiating the epipelagic zones from the mesopelagic *** genes related to B_(12) biosynthesis were relatively stably distributed across different oceans,but the taxa harboring them varied considerably,showing clear functional redundancy among microbial *** taxa carrying B_(12) biosynthesis genes in the surface water were influenced by environmental factors such as temperature,oxygen,and ***,the composition of functional genes was only weakly associated with these environmental *** model analyses demonstrated that determinism governed the variations in B_(12) biosynthesis genes,whereas a higher degree of stochasticity was associated with taxonomic *** associations were observed between the chlorophyll a concentration and B_(12) biosynthesis,confirming its importance in primary production in the global *** results of this study reveal an essential ecological mechanism governing the assembly of microbes in nature:the environment selects for function rather than taxonomy;functional redundancy underlies stochastic community assembly.

Study of Cracking Mechanism and Wear Resistance in Laser Cladding Coating of Ni-based Alloy

Ni-based coatings with the addition of a plastic phase- an austenitic stainless net were prepared using laser cladding technology, and the CeO2 was added in cladding layers. The cracking mechanism, microhardness, microstructure, phase composition, and wear properties were investigated. The relationship between thermal stress and the elastic and plastic fracture had been developed from the standpoint of fracture mechanics and thermal elastic fracture mechanics. The Fracture criterion of the nickel-based coating was obtained, and the study has shown that the crack sensitivity could be reduced by decreasing the thermal expansion coefficient Δα. Then a new method was proposed, in which the substrate was prefabricated the stainless steel net. It was found that the number of cracks reduced significantly with the addition of stainless steel net. When the stainless steel net with 14 mesh was added in Ni-based coatings, the average microhardness of nickel composite coating was 565 HV0.2, which was 2.6 times higher than that of the 45 steel substrate. Although the rare earth oxide 4 wt.% CeO2 and stainless steel net were added in the Ni-based coating reducing the microhardness (the average microhardness is 425 HV0.2), the wear resistance of it improved substantially. The wear volume of Ni-Based composite coating was 0.56×10-5mm3·N-1·m-1, which was 85.1% lower than that of 45 steel and 61.9% lower than that of Ni-based coating without CeO2 and stainless steel net. The experiment results have shown that the Nickel-based composite coating is equipped with low crack sensitivity and high abrasive resistance with austenitic stainless net and the rare earth oxide 4 wt.% CeO2. © 2021, CC BY.

Forward electricity market has emerged as a pivotal section for the electricity transaction to keep stakeholders away from price risk and electricity shortage. But the forward contract of conventional unit partially limits the unit output before operation, leading to the curtailed generation share of renewable energy source (RES). Modeling and assessing this impact is of great significance for system planning and market supervision. The central thesis of this paper is to find out the impact of forward market on RES curtailment. A probabilistic evaluation model for RES accommodation is proposed, taking the curtailment rate as a main evaluation index. We mainly research financial contract and physical contract, modeling the impact of them on thermal unit minimum load capacity and power load in evaluation model. The simulation is conducted in a simplified system, which reveals the change of RES curtailment with renege penalty, contract price and execution generation curve. © 2020 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

The development of Cu ion-exchanged small-pore zeolites with excellent performance and high hydrothermal stability in NH3-SCR reaction is of great importance. However, many frameworks of the small-pore zeolites are Al-rich, for instance, Cu-SSZ-16 zeolite with Si/Al ratio always no more than 5, showing relatively low hydrothermal stability. In this work, inspired by theoretical calculation for the interaction between organic structural directing agents (OSDAs) and zeolite framework, high silica SSZ-16 zeolite with Si/Al ratio at 6.7 was directly synthesized using an economical diquaternary alkylammonium cation as an OSDA. After exchanged with Cu ion, the Cu-SSZ-16 catalyst shows extraordinarily superior performance in NH3-SCR reaction even after hydrothermal aging at 900 °C. The designed synthesis combined with excellent performance as well as high hydrothermal stability of the high silica SSZ-16 zeolite might provide an attractive alternative candidate for NH3-SCR catalyst on diesel vehicles and non-road mobile machinery in the future. © 2023, The Authors. Introduction:China’s import bans on solid wastes starting from 2017 have challenged the global trade system of plastic wastes,which remains poorly *** study chooses polyethylene(PE)as a case and aims to map out the global trade networks of PE waste(GPETN)from 1976 to ***:We find that the size and complexity of the GPETN had been growing until *** the mid-1990s,PE waste basically flowed from developed economies,mainly the EU and the US,to developing economies such as *** 2001 when admitted into the WTO,China’s PE waste import surged until 2014 when it absorbed over 60%of global *** on solid waste import following the Green Fence campaign in 2013 resulted in substantial reductions in China’s import as well as the global export of PE waste after *** other developing economies,such as Malaysia,Turkey,and Vietnam,had transitioned to net importers,but their imports were insufficient to replace China as new recycling bases for PE ***:The results highlight the urgent need of a joint effort for developed and developing countries to build a stronger global circular economy system with sufficient capacity to treat PE waste locally.

Evaluation of Real-World Emissions of China V Heavy-Duty Vehicles Fuelled by Diesel, Cng and Lng on Various Road Types

Natural gas has been widely considered as an alternative fuel to diesel on heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs). To evaluate the real-world emissions, 19 diesel HDVs, 3 CNG HDVs and 9 LNG HDVs were tested using portable emission measurement system on urban, suburban and freeway roads . The results show that Average emission rates of CO, HC and NOx from diesel, CNG and LNG HDVs tend to rise with the increasing of VSP. Due to higher combustion temperature and complicated driving cycle, NOx reduction rates of real-world emission factors are lower than those of the corresponding limits from China II to China V diesel HDVs. CO and NOx emission factors from all tested HDVs on urban road are generally higher than those on suburban road in the same velocity intervals, which means driving behaviors on different road types have great influence on emission factors in the same velocity intervals. NOx emission factors from LNG HDVs are higher than those from diesel HDVs, indicating that using China V LNG HDVs instead of China V diesel HDVs could not be an ideal alternative on freeway transportation. As CO and NOx comprehensive emission factors from China V CNG HDVs are higher than those from China V diesel, even higher than China IV diesel HDVs, China V CNG HDVs are unable to be considered as cleaner vehicles when compared to China V diesel HDVs in the study. It is noticeable that HC emission factors from CNG and LNG HDVs are extremely higher compare with diesel HDVS. NO 2 emission factors from LNG HDVs are 2.14-9.19 and 4.74-8.53 times than those from diesel and CNG HDVs with various road types. Our study can provide development roadmap for different fuel types of HDVs and the reference for new emission legislation of HDVs. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Wire arc directed energy deposition (WA-DED) offers significant potential for rapid fabrication of large-scale Mg alloy components, yet its use is hindered by limited wire availability and strength-ductility trade-offs. Here, we present a groundbreaking advancement in WA-DED Mg-Zn-Zr alloys. Through a novel double-stage aging strategy, an exceptional strength-ductility synergy has been achieved, with the peak-aged alloy demonstrating a yield strength (YS) of ∼214 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of ∼341.8 MPa and an elongation (EL) of ∼21.8 %. Notably, the UTS rivals that of WA-DED Mg-rare earth alloys, while exhibiting excellent EL. The excellent properties are caused by the formation of finer and denser β 1 ′ precipitates during aging. These coherent precipitates play a dual role: they provide significant strengthening by impeding dislocation motion, while their shearable nature prevents stress concentration and preserves ductility. This study offers a novel pathway for developing WA-DED Mg alloys with high strength and ductility.

Enhancing the green efficiency of fundamental sectors in China’s industrial system:A spatial-temporal analysis

Due to sectoral interactions in the economy,the overall green efficiency(GE)of China’s industrial system relies heavily on fundamental sectors that contribute substantial energy to the supply chain production of other sectors but shows low sectoral *** the three fundamental sectors in China’s industrial systems,namely the smelting and pressing of nonferrous metals(SPNFM),the processing of petroleum,coking,and nuclear fuel(PPCNF);and the manufacturing of nonmetallic mineral products(MNMMP),we employed a three-stage data envelopment analysis(DEA)model to measure GE in the fundamental sectors in 30 provinces from 2010 to *** then adopted a stochastic frontier analysis(SFA)model to evaluate the influence of technological innovation(TI),industrial agglomeration(IA),environmental regulation(ER),and intraindustry competition(IC).The results showed that GE in the three fundamental sectors varied ***,TI promoted GE in MNMMP,but the effect was not obvious in the SPNFM and PPCNF ***,ER had positive impacts on GE in the fundamental *** effects of IA and IC on GE in the fundamental sectors varied in direction and *** eliminating the impacts of environmental effects and statistical noise,the real GE in the three fundamental sectors varied significantly compared to the comprehensive *** opportunities for enhancing GE in the fundamental sectors mainly lie in region-specific policy and regulations that avoid a“one-size-fits-all”governance approach.

Estimation of Typical Agricultural Machinery Emissions in China: Real-World Emission Factors and Inventories

Real-world emission tests were undertaken on 30 tractors and 9 corn combine harvesters by using a portable emission measurement system (PEMS) to better understand the emissions of typical agricultural machinery. The results indicate that the 8-mode cycle could not represent the actual engine performance of the tested tractors and corn combine harvesters. As power ranges from 37 kW to 75 kW, the average CO and HC brake-specific emission factors of China II tractors are close to those of China III tractors. The average NOx emission factors of China I tractors are 1.18 and 1.73 times those of China II and III tractors, respectively. It is noticeable that NOx brake-specific emission factors from tested tractors and corn combine harvests are 1.40–5.36 and 1.32–2.30 times than the recommended values from national inventory guideline, lead to the underestimation agricultural machinery emissions. The average CO, HC and NOx emission factors of China III corn combine harvesters based on harvesting area are 32.3%, 20.0% and 65.2% lower than those of China II corn combine harvesters, respectively. The 2019 total emissions of corn combine harvesters in China have been estimated by analysing harvesting area-based emission factors. In 2019, the total CO, HC and NOx emissions of corn combine harvesters based on harvesting area in China hit 4.45×10 3 , 1.29×10 3 and 1.60×10 4 metric tons, respectively. Among China’s 31 provinces, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Jilin, Henan, Inner Mongolia and Hebei are the six large emissions contributors, which account for 75.3% of total NOx emissions nationwide. We further find that CO, HC and NOx emissions of corn combine harvesters in China mainly occur from June to October in one year and peak in October. The variations of monthly emissions of NOx can tell that corn is mature earlier in southern China than that in northern China. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
