Aiming at the high-precision real-time prediction requirements of target trajectory prediction in beyond-visual-range (BVR) air game mission, this paper proposes a method driven by aeronautical domain knowledge of BVR game missions. The target historical intentions and maneuvers are identified based on 2 different time windows respectively. Considering that the target's intention in the BVR game missions does not change drastically in a short time, the future maneuvers are predicted based on the historical intentions and maneuver identification results, and then the predicted future maneuver information is used to assist in realizing target trajectory prediction by long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network. The proposed method was tested based on BVR game mission data collected in a highly realistic simulation environment. The results showed that the method has high prediction accuracy and real-time performance. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increasing research of multi-modal human-computer interaction technology in aircraft cockpits, the interaction process is developing in a more natural and convenient direction, but the application scenarios of multi-modal interaction are still in a state of continuous exploration. Aiming at the button controls in the human-computer interaction interface, this paper discussed the experience of using ordinary buttons and drop-down buttons in physical button interaction, touch interaction, eye movement interaction, hand-eye cooperation interaction, and gesture interaction, respectively. We conducted an experimental study on five ways of interaction, and collected 15 experts’ subjective satisfaction scores based on task completion and experience process. The results show that different interaction modes have a significant impact on the task completion time, and the task completion time is the fastest when using physical button interaction, touch interaction, and hand-eye collaborative interaction. Experts are most satisfied with physical button interaction and touch interaction in ordinary button interaction, and are most satisfied with hand-eye collaborative interaction in drop-down buttons. The scene of physical button interaction and touch interaction is more suitable for single-click tasks, and the scene of hand-eye collaborative interaction is more suitable for multi-level parameter setting tasks. The research results of this paper are helpful to the interactive function design of button controls. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

In this paper, a single-antenna coherent jamming technique based on circulators is proposed. Through a circulator, the jamming can be achieved with a single antenna where the received signal is modulated and then transmitted. This method helps avoid the complex structure of traditional dual-antenna systems with separate reception and transmission. Due to the low isolation of circulators, jamming signals can be added by original communication radar signals, increasing the decoding difficulty of enemy receivers. The effectiveness of this method has been verified by the simulation results. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a conversion method from SysML-STM model to C++ code based on the XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) standard. First, the basic features of the XMI format are introduced. The key steps in the conversion process are then described in detail, including model export XMI file, XMI file parsing, conversion rule definition, and code generation. Then, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method are demonstrated by designing and implementing a prototype system of conversion tools. Finally, the practicability and effectiveness of the method are verified by comparing and analyzing the consistency and correctness of the converted C++ code and the original SysML-STM model. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This paper is oriented to the application requirements of autonomous collaborative task management of UAV formations in the future distributed combat environment. Using MAXSIM platform as the simulation engine, combined with the technology of agent and distributed bus, a scalable method of autonomous dynamic mission management for UAV is proposed. This method breaks through the rule-based autonomous management strategy. By establishing a two-level management mechanism that combines the distributed task list management based on Gantt chart and the single-platform UAV management based on agent, the dynamic management of distributed combat tasks is realized while satisfying requirements of architecture flexibility and task scalability for a future combat system. This method could lead to the comprehensive improvement of the command and control capabilities and further the tactical ability of unmanned swarm equipment in a complex and dynamic environment. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, an adaptive jamming method for UAV communication links with time modulated technology is proposed. By performing real-time time modulation on the received UAV communication signals, the baseband signal will be overlapped by the signals on multiple neighboring harmonics, which in turn adaptively generates the jamming signal. The spectrum expression of the jamming signal is derived by taking the 1bit phase-shift circuit for periodic modulation as an example. Simulation results and field tests verify the effectiveness of the method. © 2024 IEEE.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks have been emerging as a revolutionary solution for ubiquitous communication in the upcoming sixth generation (6 G) wireless communication network. Efficient resource allocation in these satellite networks requires precise analysis of communication traffic demand. To simulate an accurate representation of the spatial-temporal communication traffic pattern worldwide, this paper utilizes Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) to simulate aircraft positions and employs a time-varying communication intensity model. The effectiveness of this approach is validated through numerical simulation results. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel direction-finding method that requires only a single phase pattern reconfigurable antenna. By controlling the switching of the antenna's working state, a phase difference varied with the incident angle can be obtained from the radio frequency (RF) single channel by analyzing the harmonic components generated from periodic modulation. Utilizing the one-to-one correspondence between the phase difference and the incident angle, the direction can be estimated by the lookup table method. The proposed method realizes single antenna direction finding while retaining the advantage of the single channel and further simplifies the system structure. Simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed method with the incidence angle ranging from -30° to 30°. © 2024 IEEE.

For operators, manned-unmanned teaming raises the possibility of abnormal cognitive states which put burden on task performance. This paper presents an analysis of factors triggering abnormal cognitive states (including cognitive overload, stress, overconcentration and vigilance decrement) in cooperation between manned and unmanned aerial systems through group decision making. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 20 experts in machine agents designing and air combat training fields. A collection of 56 influencing factors for abnormal cognitive states was constructed from the aspects of human, machine and environment/task. Deep screening was caried out subsequently by two-round scales based on these preliminarily screened factors. Experts made their judgments on each factor from the aspects of impact levels and confidence. Statistical results including concentration, confidence, dispersion, and coordination were analyzed until a consensus was reached among all the experts. Finally, 28 influencing factors were remained with 9 factors for cognitive overload, 9 factors for stress, 6 factors for overconcentration and 4 factors for vigilance decrement. The findings can work as inputs to cognitive experiments and provide design guidelines for human-computer interaction in manned-unmanned teaming systems.

With the continuous advancement of aerospace technology, various systems have increasingly higher requirements for real-time performance, flexibility and scalability. At the same time, the demand for simulation is also urgently tending to be joint. However traditional communication methods such as point-to-point and message queue models can no longer meet the need to obtain the right data at the right time and place. To solve this problem, this article uses the publish-subscribe Data Distribution Service (DDS) middleware to publish the simulation data generated by different simulation tools in the form of topics. Users only need to subscribe to the corresponding topic to obtain the data under that topic. There is no correlation between data transmission between different topics, which meets the diverse needs of applications for data transmission performance. On this basis, to ensure the accuracy of data transmission, DDS adopts a variety of Quality of Service (QoS) strategies to define the data transmission model. Additionally, data encapsulation is exported as Functional Model Unit (FMU) models via the Functional Model Interface (FMI) protocol for joint simulation. By integration of different simulation tools through DDS middleware not only saves bandwidth and processing power but also minimizes the complexity of the entire application, achieving reliable transmission of data. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
