Glioma is the most prevalent brain tumor,presenting with limited treatment options,while patients with malignant glioma and glioblastoma(GBM)have poor *** physical obstacle to drug delivery imposed by the blood‒brain barrier(BBB)and glioma stem cells(GSCs),which are widely recognized as crucial elements contributing to the unsatisfactory clinical *** this study,we found a small molecule,gambogic amide(GA-amide),exhibited the ability to effectively penetrate the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and displayed a notable enrichment within the tumor ***,GA-amide exhibited significant efficacy in inhibiting tumor growth across various in vivo glioma models,encompassing transgenic and primary patient-derived xenograft(PDX)*** further performed a genome-wide clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)knockout screen to determine the druggable target of *** the combination of the cellular thermal shift assay(CETSA),the drug affinity responsive target stability(DARTS)approach,molecular docking simulation and surface plasmon resonance(SPR)analysis,WD repeat domain 1(WDR1)was identified as the direct binding target of *** direct interaction with WDR1,GA-amide promoted the formation of a complex involving WDR1,MYH9 and Cofilin,which accelerate the depolymerization of F-actin to inhibit the invasion of patient-derived glioma cells(PDCs)and induce PDC apoptosis via the mitochondrial apoptotic *** conclusion,our study not only identified GA-amide as an effective and safe agent for treating glioma but also shed light on the underlying mechanisms of GA-amide from the perspective of cytoskeletal homeostasis.

To accurately predict impact loads can ensure the safe operation of debris flow control *** instantaneous impact process is usually considered in the calculation of the debris flow impact force;however,the redistribution of an impact load after structural regulation is *** this study we deduced the theoretical calculation of a debris flow impact on a double-row slit dam,and carried out a verification experiment on the debris flow *** calculation model considers the influence of the debris flow properties,dam arrangement and pile *** results show that the impact force of the debris flow is obviously affected by the bulk *** the bulk density is 21 kg/m^(3),the maximum impact force on the pile dam is 1.15 times that when the bulk density is 15 kg/m^(3),but the time it takes for the debris flow to pass through the dam body is reduced by 60%.The larger the relative pile spacing,the more sufficient the flow space and the lower the maximum impact *** maximum impact force of relative pile spacing of 0.8 is 12%less than that of elative pile spacing of *** horizontal distribution of the impact force in the mud depth range is *** maximum impact force on the centre pier is 1.3 times that of a side pier,and the maximum impact force on the dam body appears at the top of the mud depth *** the vertical distribution of the impact force,the maximum impact force at the highest mud mark is approximately 70%of that of the *** the increase in the relative pile spacing,the longitudinal maximum impact force distribution first decreases and then increases.

Co-Pyrolysis Mechanism of Pp and Pet Under Steam Atmosphere

The pyrolysis of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) under steam atmosphere is an effective method for reducing impurities and improving the yield of terephthalic acid (TPA). However, the yield is still low compared to the theoretical maximum. Here, further improvements were achieved through the steam-assisted co-pyrolysis of PET and polypropylene (PP). The results showed that the presence of PP inhibits the excessive cracking of PET and promotes the complete cracking of PP to gaseous products. The optimal reaction temperature was found to be 450 °C, with a maximum yield of TPA of 85.0 wt%, representing an increase compared to the pyrolysis of pure PET. Further, a large amount of olefin monomer was obtained, and the proportion of carbon dioxide in the gaseous products was reduced to 47.7 vol%, which not only improves the efficiency of resource recovery but also reduces carbon emissions. The reaction mechanism of the co-pyrolysis was also explored through analysis of the products in the co-pyrolysis process and by comparing the measured data with theoretical predictions. It was noticed that TPA has a promoting effect on the pyrolysis of PP. This is mainly because TPA is a highly thermally stable Bronsted acid, which can still provide the acidic catalytic site when PP was thermally decomposed during the co-pyrolysis process. Further, a new hydrogen transfer reaction pathway between PP and PET was discovered via isotope tracing experiments, with density functional theory simulations by Material Studio indicating that this pathway occurs between the active hydrogen on the methyl group of PP and the hydrogen on the benzene ring of PET. This study demonstrates that the monomer yield can be improved through the co-pyrolysis of mixed plastics under steam atmosphere, which has important implications for industrial waste plastic recycling applications. © 2023, The Authors. Numerical modeling of wet milling process by an improved CFD-DEM-VOF model

Wet ball mill that has been extensively used to comminute the raw materials in various industries possesses the advantages of large production capacity,high grinding efficiency,low investment and so *** mill is a typical gas-liquid-solid three-phase system,and the interaction between these three phases is quite complex,resulting in the difficulty to simulate the wet milling *** a consequence,a numerical model by coupling computational fluid dynamics(CFD),discrete element method(DEM)and volume of fluid(VOF)is developed to accurately simulate the wet milling process.A novel scheme is also devised and incorporated into CFD-DEM-VOF model to treat the interphase coupling when the particles and CFD cells have the comparable size that will be encountered in simulating the wet milling *** accuracy of the established CFD-DEM-VOF coupling model is then validated by several test cases,including the single particle sedimentation in air-liquid domain,water entry of particle assembly and three-phase flows in a lab-scale wet mill and an industrial-scale wet ***,the effects of CFD cell size(2.5,5 and 10 mm)and mill rotation speed(10,30 and 50 r/min)on the prediction accuracy are also explored by the test case of lab-scale *** results indicate that using the quite coarse CFD cells can deteriorate the simulation accuracy,and increasing the mill rotation speed will enhance this ***,adopting the very fine CFD cells(e.g.,2.5 mm in this work)in our model is not necessary in terms of the accuracy in simulating the particle behaviors,and the reliable prediction of particle behaviors can still be obtained while using the relatively large CFD cells(e.g.,5 mm in this paper).

This work has performed a numerical simulation of the temperature field during microwave heating of polyolefin-absorber mixture by means of a combined electric and thermal model.A finite difference time domain was used to model the electric field distribution within the cavity,while the finite difference method was used to calculate the temperature field distribution in different *** study has focused only on the process from room temperature to 500 K for reducing heating time and energy *** temperature range is a process with high energy consumption,difficult to control and great influence on the follow-up *** dependence of dielectric properties and thermal properties of heated materials are fully considered and simulated through an iterative *** simulation results show that input power,the size and location of the heated materials,the position of the waveguide,and the kinds of microwave absorbers are important factors affecting the heating *** a result,the uniform temperature distribution(the temperature difference Tdb10 K)can be achieved by choosing the appropriate input power(500–2000 W),the appropriate proportion of microwave absorber(the volume ratio of Si C to HDPE is 30:70),and combining with the moving and rotating of the heated *** uniform temperature field obtained without mechanical stirring is very important for reducing energy consumption and subsequent reactions.

Advanced characterizations and measurements for sodium-ion batteries with NASICON-type cathode materials

NASICON (Na superionic conductor)-type cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attractedextensive attention due to their mechanically robust three-dimensional (3D) framework, which has sufficient openchannels for fast Na^(+) transportation. However, they usually suffer from inferior electronic conductivity and lowcapacity, which severely limit their practical applications. To solve these issues, we need to deeply understand thestructural evolution, redox mechanisms, and electrode/electrolyte interface reactions during cycling. Recently,rapid developments in synchrotron X-ray techniques, neutron-based resources, magnetic resonance, as well asoptical and electron microscopy have brought numerous opportunities to gain deep insights into the Na-storagebehaviors of NASICON cathodes. In this review, we summarize the detection principles of advanced characterization techniques used with typical NASICON-structured cathode materials for SIBs. The special focus is on bothoperando and ex situ techniques, which help to investigate the relationships among phase, composition, andvalence variations within electrochemical responses. Fresh electrochemical measurements and theoretical computations are also included to reveal the kinetics and energy-storage mechanisms of electrodes upon charge/discharge. Finally, we describe potential new developments in NASICON-cathodes with optimized SIB systems,foreseeing a bright future for them, achievable through the rational application of advanced diagnostic methods.

Cobalt 2-methylimidazole (ZIF-67) have abundant nitrogen and cobalt elements, which can be used as an excellent precursor for catalyst synthesis. In this study, a new Co, N co-doped carbon-based catalyst (Co-N-BC) was synthesized from ZIF-67 and biochar, which can significantly improve the degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in catalytic ozonation. The mineralization rate of 4-NP achieves 65.8% within 60 min. The catalyst showed high recycling stability in the four cycles of reuse experiment. Different operating parameters, such as solution pH, the concentration of O3 and 4-NP, have been studied in the Co-N-BC catalytic ozonation. O3, O2−· and ·OH are determined as the main reactive species for 4-NP degradation, and ·OH is especially responsibly for 4-NP mineralization. The existence of inorganic ions, such as Cl−, NO2−, CO32− and PO43−, all significantly inhibited the degradation of 4-NP to different extend, respectively. The effect of substituent on a series of organics with similar structure of 4-NP was also investigated in Co-N-BC catalytic ozonation. This study provides a new composite material for heterogeneous catalytic ozonation, which is very promising in 4-NP contained complex wastewater treatment. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

This paper investigates the robust consensus scheme for a specific type of leader-follower multi-agent systems (MASs) in the context of a human-cyber-physical interactive system. The system encounters frequent communication challenges characterized by packet loss and data leakage. To address these challenges, the paper proposes a secure decentralized scheme that leverages game theory to determine optimal policies in a zero-sum game. The scheme utilizes the adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) method, which involves a decentralized iterative process. The paper demonstrates that the generated sequence exhibits exponential convergence and provides the maximum iteration number based on the convergence error. To mitigate data leakage among players, the scheme incorporates a secure operation that involves encrypted data. This integration seamlessly combines data conversion and encryption-decryption into decentralized computation. Finally, the paper presents a simulation example to validate the efficacy of the consensus scheme. © 2014 IEEE.
