Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide,significantly impairing motor and cognitive *** rehabilitation is often hindered by the heterogeneity of stroke lesions,variability in recovery patterns,and the complexity of electroencephalography(EEG)signals,which are often contaminated by *** classification of motor imagery(MI)tasks,involving the mental simulation of movements,is crucial for assessing rehabilitation strategies but is challenged by overlapping neural signatures and patient-specific *** address these challenges,this study introduces a graph-attentive convolutional long short-term memory(LSTM)network(GACL-Net),a novel hybrid deep learning model designed to improve MI classification accuracy and ***-Net incorporates multi-scale convolutional blocks for spatial feature extraction,attention fusion layers for adaptive feature prioritization,graph convolutional layers to model inter-channel dependencies,and bidi-rectional LSTM layers with attention to capture temporal *** on an open-source EEG dataset of 50 acute stroke patients performing left and right MI tasks,GACL-Net achieved 99.52%classification accuracy and 97.43%generalization accuracy under leave-one-subject-out cross-validation,outperforming existing state-of-the-art ***,its real-time processing capability,with prediction times of 33–56 ms on a T4 GPU,underscores its clinical potential for real-time neurofeedback and adaptive *** findings highlight the model’s potential for clinical applications in assessing rehabilitation effectiveness and optimizing therapy plans through precise MI classification.

In this paper, we partly determine the cycle structure of two types of Nonlinear feedback shift registers (NFSRs). Based on these results, the cycle structure of a class of NFSRs with symmetric feedback functions can be completely characterized. Furthermore, an alternative proof of Kjeldsen's results is presented. Compared with the original proof based on abstract algebra theory, ours is straightforward and easy to understand.

In order to effectively alleviate the congestion and delay of aircraft during peak hours in a large hub airport, the paper studies the cooperative scheduling and path planning for arrival and departure aircrafts. A cooperative aircraft scheduling and path planning model for the airport ground movement problem is established with multiple spatial and temporal constraints, such as the queue constraint, time difference constraint, corner constraint. It aims to minimize the average taxiing time for all aircrafts. A genetic algorithm with elite selection strategy (ESGA) is proposed for the problem under study. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively obtain the aircraft sequencing and path planning solutions, and significantly reduce the average taxiing time of the aircraft. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Towards Event Extraction with Massive Types: LLM-based Collaborative Annotation and Partitioning Extraction

Developing a general-purpose extraction system that can extract events with massive types is a long-standing target in Event Extraction (EE). In doing so, the challenge comes from two aspects: 1) The absence of an efficient and effective annotation method. 2) The absence of a powerful extraction method can handle massive types. For the first challenge, we propose a collaborative annotation method based on Large Language Models (LLMs). Through collaboration among multiple LLMs, it first refines annotations of trigger words from distant supervision and then carries out argument annotation. Next, a voting phase consolidates the annotation preferences across different LLMs. Finally, we create the EEMT dataset, the largest EE dataset to date, featuring over 200,000 samples, 3,465 event types, and 6,297 role types. For the second challenge, we propose an LLM-based Partitioning EE method called LLM-PEE. To overcome the limited context length of LLMs, LLM-PEE first recalls candidate event types and then splits them into multiple partitions for LLMs to extract events. The results in the supervised setting show that LLM-PEE outperforms the state-of-the-art methods by 5.4% in event detection and 6.1% in argument extraction. In the zero-shot setting, LLM-PEE achieves up to 12.9% improvement compared to mainstream LLMs, demonstrating its strong generalization capabilities. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Neural Vector Search (NVS) has exhibited superior search quality over traditional key-based strategies for information retrieval tasks. An effective NVS architecture requires high recall, low latency, and high throughput to enhance user experience and cost-efficiency. However, implementing NVS on existing neural network accelerators and vector search accelerators is sub-optimal due to the separation between the embedding stage and vector search stage at both algorithm and architecture levels. Fortunately, we unveil that Product Quantization (PQ) opens up an opportunity to break separation. However, existing PQ algorithms and accelerators still focus on either the embedding stage or the vector search stage, rather than both simultaneously. Simply combining existing solutions still follows the beaten track of separation and suffers from insufficient parallelization, frequent data access conflicts, and the absence of scheduling, thus failing to reach optimal recall, latency, and throughput. To this end, we propose a unified and efficient NVS accelerator dubbed NeuVSA based on algorithm and architecture co-design philosophy. Specifically, on the algorithm level, we propose a learned PQ-based unified NVS algorithm that consolidates two separate stages into the same computing and memory access paradigm. It integrates an end-to-end joint training strategy to learn the optimal codebook and index for enhanced recall and reduced PQ complexity, thus achieving smoother acceleration. On the architecture level, we customize a homogeneous NVS accelerator based on the unified NVS algorithm. Each sub-accelerator is optimized to exploit all parallelism exposed by unified NVS, incorporating a structured index assignment strategy and an elastic on-chip buffer to alleviate buffer conflicts for reduced latency. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has set forth the timetable to develop the 6th generation (6G) terrestrial networks, namely, the International Mobile Telecommunications towards 2030 and beyond (IMT-2030). Due to the fact that 6G is envisaged to support a much wider variety of usage scenarios and use cases, evaluations of candidate 6G radio interface technologies (RITs) are likely to be more challenging than those for the previous generation. Novel technical performance requirements (TPRs) as well as proper evaluation methodologies are essential to be defined to characterize the advanced capabilities of 6G. 3D object detection from a Bird's Eye View (BEV) has emerged as a novel perception paradigm for autonomous driving scenarios. While most current 3D object detection methods still rely on the conventional Cartesian coordinates, they fail to align with the non-aligned coordinate system inherent in image geometry. The Polar coordinates, on the other hand, better fit with the geometric shape corresponding to the perception of cameras. However, transforming between coordinate systems introduces distortions in the perception information, resulting in issues such as "Weak Adaptability to Heatmap Distribution"and "Offset in the Center Point of the Bounding Box."To address these challenges, this paper proposes a cutting-edge 3D object detection model named PolarBEVU, which leverages the bird's-eye view under the Polar coordinates along with multi-camera unprojection. The model introduces an innovative "Deformable Uniform Heatmap Distribution"method that adjusts heatmap computations based on box shapes, generating high-quality heatmaps and effectively resolving the issue of "Weak Adaptability to Heatmap Distribution."Moreover, the model incorporates the concept of "Dynamic High-risk Regression Region"to enhance the accuracy and robustness of the center point regression at the bounding box, thus mitigating the issue of "Offset in the Center Point of the Bounding Box."In extensive experiments on the nuScenes dataset, PolarBEVU achieves impressive results with 49.9% mAP and 57.4% NDS on the test set, surpassing other comparative approaches and reaching the state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance among methods utilizing Polar coordinates. This clearly demonstrates the efficacy and superiority of PolarBEVU. In addition, the model is successfully deployed on Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin, showcasing real-time inference speeds of 31.42ms. Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has been considered a key feature of next-generation wireless networks. This paper investigates the joint design of the radar receive filter and dual-functional transmit waveform for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ISAC system. While optimizing the mean square error (MSE) of the radar receive spatial response and maximizing the achievable rate at the communication receiver, besides the constraints of full-power radar receiving filter and unimodular transmit sequence, we control the maximum range sidelobe level, which is often overlooked in existing ISAC waveform design literature, for better radar imaging performance. To solve the formulated optimization problem with convex and nonconvex constraints, we propose an inexact augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) algorithm. For each subproblem in the proposed inexact ALM algorithm, we custom-design a block successive upper-bound minimization (BSUM) scheme with closed-form solutions for all blocks of variable to enhance the computational efficiency. Convergence analysis shows that the proposed algorithm is guaranteed to provide a stationary and feasible solution. Extensive simulations are performed to investigate the impact of different system parameters on communication and radar imaging performance. DAPO-QAOA: An algorithm for solving combinatorial optimization problems by dynamically constructing phase operators

The Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) is a well-known hybrid quantum-classical algorithm for combinatorial optimization problems. Improving QAOA involves enhancing its approximation ratio while addressing practical constraints of Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices, such as minimizing the number of two-qubit gates and reducing circuit depth. Although existing research has optimized designs for phase and mixer operators to improve performance, challenges remain, particularly concerning the excessive use of two-qubit gates in the construction of phase operators. To address these issues, we introduce a Dynamic Adaptive Phase Operator (DAPO) algorithm, which dynamically constructs phase operators based on the output of previous layers and neighborhood search approach, optimizing the problem Hamiltonian more efficiently. By using solutions generated by QAOA itself to simplify the problem Hamiltonian at each layer, the algorithm captures the problem’s structural properties more effectively, progressively steering the solution closer to the optimal target. Experimental results on MaxCut and NAE3SAT problems show that DAPO achieves higher approximation ratios and significantly reduces two-qubit RZZ gates, especially in dense graphs. Compared to vanilla QAOA, DAPO uses only 66% of RZZ gates at the same depth while delivering better results, demonstrating its potential for efficient combinatorial optimization in the NISQ era. © 2025, CC BY.

UNeLF: Unconstrained Neural Light Field for Self-Supervised Angular Super-Resolution

Compared to supervised learning methods, self-supervised learning methods address the domain gap problem between light field (LF) datasets collected under varying acquisition conditions, which typically leads to decreased performance when differences exist in the distribution between the training and test sets. However, current self-supervised light field angular super-resolution (LFASR) techniques primarily focus on exploiting discrete spatial-angular features while neglecting continuous LF information. In contrast to previous work, we propose a self-supervised unconstrained neural light field (UNeLF) to continuously represent LF for LFASR. Specifically, any LF can be described as the camera pose for each sub-aperture image (SAI) and the two-plane that captures these SAIs. To describe the former, we introduce a SAIs-dependent pose optimization method to solve the issue that arises from the narrow baseline of most LF data, which hinders robust camera pose estimation. This mechanism reduces the number of trainable camera parameters from a quadratic to a constant scale, thereby alleviating the complexity of joint optimization. For the latter, we propose a novel adaptive two-plane parameterization strategy to determine the two-plane that captures these SAIs, facilitating refocusing. Finally, we jointly optimize the camera parameters, near-far planes and neural light field, efficiently mapping each adaptive two-plane parameterized ray to its correspondence color in a continuous manner. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that UNeLF achieves faster training and inference with fewer computational resources while exhibiting superior performance on both synthetic and real-world datasets. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
