Cooperative perception is a promising paradigm to tackle the perception limitations of a single intelligent vehicle (IV) to enhance the driving safety and efficiency in intelligent vehicular networks. However, the real-time transmission and computation-intensive fusion of raw sensing data raise new challenges for satisfying the stringent delay requirement of delay-sensitive applications. In this paper, we formulate a joint optimization problem of the cooperative IV selection, compression ratio selection, transmit power control, task offloading decision and computation allocation to minimize the end-to-end delay consisting of compression, transmission and computation. In particular, to meet the perception probability requirement, the quality and quantity-aware matching algorithm is proposed to optimize the cooperative IV selection. To guarantee the queue stability of offloading tasks, we develop the Lyapunov optimization algorithm to determine the upper bound of the offloading tasks and the corresponding optimal computation allocation. The Lyapunov aided deep reinforcement learning algorithm is further proposed to dynamically adjust the task offloading decision and compression ratio selection to minimize the end-to-end delay with the transmit power control being optimized by the successive convex approximation algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that, compared to several benchmark algorithms, our proposed algorithm achieves the lowest end-to-end delay while guaranteeing the requirements on perception probability and queue stability effectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Batch Microfabrication of Boron-Doped Diamond-Based Microsensor for Seconds Level Measurement of Dual Parameters of Chemical Oxygen Demand and Conductivity in Tap Water

With increasing concern about water safety, particularly the impact of tap water quality on human health, there is an urgent need for a biologically safe, multiparameter microsensor for rapid, online monitoring of tap water quality. This work reports on a batch fabricable miniature sensor based on microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technology for rapid detection of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and conductivity in tap water. The sensor is a silicon-glass structure comprising a boron-doped diamond (BDD) working electrode with biosafety properties. Three electrodes are integrated into the silicon wafer for the detection of COD, two of which can also be constructed as a conductivity sensing unit. Additionally, a microchamber is integrated into the glass. The excellent linearity (0.992 for COD and 0.996 for conductivity) and ideal detection range of the sensor (5–150 mgL-1 for COD and 98– 890 μS cm-1 for conductivity) are witnessed after a systematic performance investigation, and a satisfactory response time (2 s) was obtained by using a microchamber as the detection unit. As the sensors were prepared in a batch using the MEMS, the response of multiple sensors was verified through experimentation and found to be in good agreement. Furthermore, the impact of conductivity on the detection of COD was examined. In this article, a miniature ( 12 x 12 mm), low-cost, biologically safe dual-parameter sensor for COD and conductivity has been designed and prepared using the MEMS. It provides a core sensor component for online monitoring of multiple parameters in tap water. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Graph Augmentation Empowered Contrastive Learning for Recommendation

The application of contrastive learning (CL) to collaborative filtering (CF) in recommender systems has achieved remarkable success. CL-based recommendation models mainly focus on creating multiple augmented views by employing different graph augmentation methods and utilizing these views for self-supervised learning. However, current CL methods for recommender systems usually struggle to fully address the problem of noisy data. To address this problem, we propose the Graph Augmentation Empowered Contrastive Learning (GAECL) for recommendation framework, which uses graph augmentation based on topological and semantic dual adaptation and global co-modeling via structural optimization to co-create contrasting views for better augmentation of the CF paradigm. Specifically, we strictly filter out unimportant topologies by reconstructing the adjacency matrix and mask unimportant attributes in nodes according to the PageRank centrality principle to generate an augmented view that filters out noisy data. Additionally, GAECL achieves global collaborative modeling through structural optimization and generates another augmented view based on the PageRank centrality principle. This helps to filter the noisy data while preserving the original semantics of the data for more effective data augmentation. Extensive experiments are conducted on five datasets to demonstrate the superior performance of our model over various recommendation models. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

A verifiable scheme for differential privacy based on zero-knowledge proofs

The protection of personal privacy has become a paramount issue in the field of data science, with its significance continuously rising. Differential privacy technology has garnered significant attention for its effectiveness in preserving individual privacy. However, the implementation of differential privacy relies on a degree of trust in the entities or individuals executing the algorithms. This paper proposes an innovative solution: a verifiable differential privacy mechanism based on zero-knowledge proofs. This approach integrates differential privacy with zero-knowledge proof technology to not only verify the correctness of the differential privacy techniques but also enhance the transparency and reliability of the algorithms. Additionally, we have designed a publicly verifiable data release scheme that integrates commitment mechanisms and range proofs, ensuring that the range of published data noise does not exceed predetermined thresholds, thereby ensuring the utility of the data. Compared to other verifiable differential privacy solutions, our approach is unique in that it does not rely on the number of participants but is solely dependent on the precision of the data. This means that our computational cost will not increase with the addition of more participants. Finally, we conducted a performance evaluation of the solution, which only took 700ms to complete a single verification. On average, there was a 6% reduction in expectation and a 40% reduction in variance, demonstrating the enhancement of its data utility and the feasibility and effectiveness in practical applications. © The Author(s) 2025.

With the rapid growth of socialmedia,the spread of fake news has become a growing problem,misleading the public and causing significant *** social media content is often composed of both images and text,the use of multimodal approaches for fake news detection has gained significant *** solve the problems existing in previous multi-modal fake news detection algorithms,such as insufficient feature extraction and insufficient use of semantic relations between modes,this paper proposes the MFFFND-Co(Multimodal Feature Fusion Fake News Detection with Co-Attention Block)***,the model deeply explores the textual content,image content,and frequency domain ***,it employs a Co-Attention mechanism for cross-modal ***,a semantic consistency detectionmodule is designed to quantify semantic deviations,thereby enhancing the performance of fake news *** verified on two commonly used datasets,Twitter and Weibo,the model achieved F1 scores of 90.0% and 94.0%,respectively,significantly outperforming the pre-modified MFFFND(Multimodal Feature Fusion Fake News Detection with Attention Block)model and surpassing other baseline *** improves the accuracy of detecting fake information in artificial intelligence detection and engineering software detection.

Coded Beam Training for RIS-Assisted Wireless Communications

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is considered as one of the key technologies for future 6G communications. To fully unleash the performance of RIS, accurate channel state information (CSI) is crucial. Beam training is widely utilized to acquire the CSI. However, before aligning the beam correctly to establish stable connections, the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at UE is inevitably low, which reduces the beam training accuracy. To deal with this problem, we exploit the coded beam training framework for RIS systems, which leverages the error correction capability of channel coding to improve the beam training accuracy under low SNR. Specifically, we first extend the coded beam training framework to RIS systems by decoupling the base station-RIS channel and the RIS-user channel. For this framework, codewords that accurately steer to multiple angles is essential for fully unleashing the error correction capability. In order to realize effective codeword design in RIS systems, we then propose a new codeword design criterion, based on which we propose a relaxed Gerchberg-Saxton (GS) based codeword design scheme by considering the constant modulus constraints of RIS elements. In addition, considering the two dimensional structure of RIS, we further propose a dimension reduced encoder design scheme, which can not only guarentee a better beam shape, but also enable a stronger error correction capability. Simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme can realize effective and accurate beam training in low SNR scenarios. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

This paper presents new variants of the Welch-Berlekamp algorithm that are favorable to hardware implementation. First, we derive the parallel Welch-Berlekamp (PWB) algorithm in a constructive manner based on the properties of solutions to the rational interpolation problem. The algorithm features the simultaneously performed discrepancy computation and polynomial update. Second, we explore the early-termination mechanism of the PWB algorithm for decoding of Reed-Solomon (RS) codes. By introducing the concept of incomplete error locator polynomial, we show that if e ≤ t (where e is the number of errors and t is the error correction capability), the PWB algorithm can be terminated at latest at the completion of the (t+ e) -th iteration. This leads to the early-terminating PWB (EPWB) algorithm. Finally, we develop frequency-domain versions of the PWB and EPWB algorithms, namely, FPWB and FEPWB. The key point toward the two algorithms is to replace the update of polynomial coefficients with the update of polynomial evaluations. It is worth noting that the FEPWB algorithm applies only to shortened RS codes. Furthermore, an efficient systolic architecture for the FPWB algorithm is designed, which is easily adapted for the FEPWB algorithm. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Enhanced regular expressions (EREs), which extend standard regular expressions with shuffle and counting operators, provide exponentially more succinct descriptions of regular languages. The membership problem, determining whether a given word w belongs to the language generated by an ERE E, is fundamental to numerous applications. However, efficient solutions for the membership problem of unconstrained EREs have remained elusive. This paper introduces a derivative for the counting operator and rigorously proves its correctness. We then leverage this derivative to design a membership algorithm for unconstrained EREs and analyze its time complexity based on a lemma establishing the relationship between the size of the derivative and the expression. We further propose algorithms based on the proposed derivatives to generate positive and negative words of specific lengths for EREs. The performance of the membership algorithm is then evaluated on real-world EREs. Finally, we validate the correctness of two existing inference algorithms that previously lacked formal correctness guarantees due to the absence of practical membership algorithms for unconstrained EREs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Chisel is an open-source high-level hardware construction language embedded in Scala to facilitate parameterizable, reusable circuit design generators. It is becoming increasingly popular and has been used to design many RISC-V processor variants. Formal verification has been adapted to check the (functional) correctness of RISC-V processor designs. However, the RISC-V instructions therein are specified in the low-level hardware languages Verilog/SystemVerilog, which are challenging to develop, maintain, and extend. This considerably lowers the advantage of RISC-V for designing highly customizable processors. In this work, we present the first end-to-end approach for formally verifying the correctness of RISC-V processor designs, fully at the Chisel high-level. Specifically, by utilizing the object-oriented and functional programming constructs offered by Chisel, we develop a high-level reference model of RISC-V instructions in Chisel. This reference model is a succinct, modular, and parameterized RISC-V processor design generator, thus can produce customized RISC-V processor variants. We then devise a novel queue-based synchronization mechanism between the RISC-V processor Chisel design and the reference model by which the correctness verification of the RISC-V processor design is reduced to the model-checking problem and off-the-shelf model-checkers can be harnessed. We implement our approach in an open-source tool and demonstrate its efficacy on two representative open-source RISC-V processor designs in Chisel (i.e., riscv-mini and NutShell). The experiment results confirm the efficacy of our approach, capable of discovering 7 real-world unknown non-conformance bugs and all the 10 manually injected bugs. It is also three-orders-of-magnitude more efficient than the state-of-the-art symbolic-execution based approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
