Asynchronous Heterogeneous Mechanism for Hyper-Distributed Hyper-Parallel Al Processing

This paper proposes an asynchronous heterogeneous propagation approach of concurrent competitive waves for hyper-distributed hyper-parallel heuris tic problem-solving. This approach is much more powerful than the synchronous homogeneous mechanisms and the asynchronous superimposition algorithms, and has universal validity and availability. The basic conception, concurrent algorithm and its properties are discussed. The theory and conclusions drawn in this paper are of essential importance for the hardware implementation of hyper-distributed hyper-parallel processing based on chaotic cellular networks.

Hierarchical Clustering of Complex Symbolic Data and Application for Emitter Identification

It is well-known that the values of symbolic variables may take various forms such as an interval, a set of stochastic measurements of some underlying patterns or qualitative multi-values and so on. However, the majority of existing work in symbolic data analysis still focuses on interval values. Although some pioneering work in stochastic pattern based symbolic data and mixture of symbolic variables has been explored, it still lacks flexibility and computation efficiency to make full use of the distinctive individual symbolic variables. Therefore, we bring forward a novel hierarchical clustering method with weighted general Jaccard distance and effective global pruning strategy for complex symbolic data and apply it to emitter identification. Extensive experiments indicate that our method has outperformed its peers in both computational efficiency and emitter identification accuracy.

TSV Minimization for Circuit Partitioned 3D SoC Test Wrapper Design

Semiconductor technology continues advancing, while global on-chip interconnects do not scale with the same pace as transistors, which has become the major bottleneck for performance and integration of future giga-scale ICs. Thre dimensional （3D） integration has been proposed to sustain Moore＇s law by incorporating through-silicon vias （TSVs） to integrate different circuit modules in the vertical direction, which is believed to be one of the most promising techniques to tackle the interconnect scaling problem. Due to its unique characteristics, there are many research opportunities, and in this paper we focus on the test wrapper optimization for the individual circuit-partitioned embedded cores within 3D system-on- Chips （SoCs）. Firstly, we use existing 2D SoCs algorithms to minimize test time for individual embedded cores. In addition, vertical interconnects, i.e., TSVs that are used to construct the test wrapper should be taken into consideration as well. This is because TSVs typically employ bonding pads to tackle the misalignment problem, and they will occupy significant planar chip area, which may result in routing congestion. In this paper, we propose a series of heuristic algorithms to reduce the number of TSVs used in test wrapper chain construction without affecting test time negatively. It is composed of two steps, i.e., scan chain allocation and functional input/output insertion, both of which can reduce TSV count significantly. Through extensive experimental evaluations, it is shown that reduce the number of test TSVs dramatically, i.e., as much as 26% in comparison with the intuitive method. the test wrapper chain structure designed by our method can 60.5% reductions in comparison with the random method and

With the coming of exascale supercomputing era, power efficiency has become the most important obstacle to build an exascale system. Dataflow architecture has native advantage in achieving high power efficiency for scientific applications. However, the state-of-the-art dataflow architectures fail to exploit high parallelism for loop processing. To address this issue, we propose a pipelining loop optimization method （PLO）, which makes iterations in loops flow in the processing element （PE） array of dataflow accelerator. This method consists of two techniques, architecture-assisted hardware iteration and instruction-assisted software iteration. In hardware iteration execution model, an on-chip loop controller is designed to generate loop indexes, reducing the complexity of computing kernel and laying a good f（mndation for pipelining execution. In software iteration execution model, additional loop instructions are presented to solve the iteration dependency problem. Via these two techniques, the average number of instructions ready to execute per cycle is increased to keep floating-point unit busy. Simulation results show that our proposed method outperforms static and dynamic loop execution model in floating-point efficiency by 2.45x and 1.1x on average, respectively, while the hardware cost of these two techniques is acceptable.

This work investigates the dispersion properties of Rayleigh-type surface waves propagating in a layered piezoelectric nanostructure composed of a piezoelectric nanofilm over an elastic *** one of the most important features of nanostructures,surface effects characterized by surface stresses and surface electric displacements are taken into account through the surface piezoelectricity theory and the nonclassical mechanical and electrical boundary *** expressions of the dispersion equation are derived,and numerical results are provided to examine the effects of several surface-related parameters,including the surface elasticity,surface piezoelectricity,surface dielectricity,surface density,as well as surface residual stress,on the dispersion modes and phase *** size-dependent dispersion behaviors occurring with surface effects are also predicted,and they may vanish once the thickness of the piezoelectric nanofilm reaches a critical value.

Multi-type energy storage expansion planning: A review for high-penetration renewable energy integration

Energy storage has emerged as a pivotal enabling technology for the integration of renewable energy and the decarbonization of energy systems. The growing penetration of renewable energy sources (RES) has brought about a significant transformation in the operational characteristics of power systems, posing substantial challenges in maintaining power balance and ensuring stable operation across multiple time scales. Multi-type energy storage, with their distinct regulation characteristics, can meet the multi-time scale regulation requirements of power systems. As a result, scientific and efficient storage expansion planning (SEP) has become a critical task in promoting the energy transition. Although numerous studies have thoroughly explored the advancements of energy storage technologies, a comprehensive and systematic review of SEP is still remains underexplored. To fill this research gap, this study first delves into the operational challenges faced by high-penetration RES power systems and synthesizes current research on multifaceted energy storage applications. Subsequently, it offers a systematic review of planning methodologies for multi-type energy storage, covering traditional application scenarios such as source-side, grid-side, and load-side. This research further extends to SEP methods tailored to address the challenges of high-RES integration, including medium- and long-term energy balance, power balance considering uncertainties, real-time security support, and a detailed analysis of the corresponding models, algorithms, and storage technologies is also provided. Finally, the study explores emerging challenges related to power system decarbonization, the impacts of climate change, and the evolving energy storage market landscape. Furthermore, it proposes future research directions and development trends in SEP.

With the advantages of low cost and high mobility,unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have played an important role in wireless *** investigate a UAV-enabled mobile relaying system,where a UAV is used as a mobile relay to assist in the communication from a ground source to a ground destination since their direct link is *** the conventional mobile relay in which the UAV adopts straight line or circular trajectory,we consider a more general elliptical trajectory and use realistic channel *** assuming that the UAV employs time-division duplexing(TDD)based decode-and-forward(DF)relaying,we jointly optimize the time allocations and the UAV trajectory to formulate the maximization of spectrum efficiency(SE).The simulation results show that the trajectory we designed achieves a higher SE than the optimal circular trajectory and static relaying.
