The fluctuation of wind power brings great challenges to the secure,stable,and cost-efficient operation of the power *** of the time-correlation of wind speed and the wake effect of wind turbines,the layout of wind farm has a significant impact on the wind power sequential *** order to reduce the fluctuation of wind power and improve the operation security with lower operating cost,a bi-objective layout optimization model for multiple wind farms considering the sequential fluctuation of wind power is proposed in this *** goal is to determine the optimal installed capacity of wind farms and the location of wind *** proposed model maximizes the energy production and minimizes the fluctuation of wind power *** improve the accuracy of wind speed estimation and hence the power calculation,the timeshifting of wind speed between the wind tower and turbines’locations is also considered.A uniform design based two-stage genetic algorithm is developed for the solution of the proposed *** studies demonstrate the effectiveness of this proposed model.

Currently, large-scale vision and language models has significantly improved the performances of cross-modal retrieval tasks. However, large-scale models require a substantial amount of computing resources, so the execution of these models on devices with limited resources is challenging. Thus, it is paramount to reduce the model size and minimize computing costs of a model without sacrificing its performance. In this paper, we improved TERAN by dividing cross-modal retrieval into two stages: image-text coarse-grained matching and image-text fine-grained matching. Specifically, we present a novel approach called Two-Stage Cross-Modal Retrieval network(TSCMR). To reduce model size after model training, our approach utilized a new knowledge distillation method for Transformer-based models. Experiments have shown that our approach maintains a performance comparable to TERAN on the MS-COCO 1K test set, while being 2x smaller and 3.1x faster on inference. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

The hydrodynamics, water temperature, and water quality model for the Dan River and Renzhuang Reservoir continuum were developed using field monitoring data and the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC). An in-situ water discharge experiment enabled the calculation of water propagation time using a simulated flood progression method and the hydrodynamics module of EFDC. Based on these model results, degradation coefficients for chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), fluoride, arsenic were determined, revealing significantly higher values when the wetland barrage was opening. According to field monitoring and EFDC model outputs, the water environment capacity (WEC) of total nitrogen (TN) in Dan River was even negative, with the WEC of TN and total phosphorus (TP) in Renzhuang Reservoir being very low at 147 kg/d and 1490 kg/d, respective. Furthermore, the water environment carrying capacity (WECC) was found to be extremely low (~0.2 %) and limited by TN and TP. The results demonstrated that the spatiotemporal variations of water quality presented by the EFDC model facilitate an intuitive and comprehensive observation of water quality compliance rates over time and space, providing valuable references for decision-makers. The WEC and WECC of the study area underscored the urgency of N and P coordination control. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

Machine translation (MT), with its broad potential use, has gained increased attention from both researchers and software vendors. To generate high quality translations, however, MT decoders can be highly computation intensive. With significant raw computing power, multi-core microprocessors have the potential to speed up MT software on desktop machines. However, retrofitting existing MT decoders is a nontrivial issue. Race conditions and atomicity issues are among those complications making parallelization difficult. In this article, we show that, to parallelize a state-of-the-art MT decoder, it is much easier to overcome such difficulties by using a process-based parallelization method, called functional task parallelism, than using conventional thread-based methods. We achieve a 7.60 times speed up on an 8-core desktop machine while making significantly less changes to the original sequential code than required by using multiple threads. © 2011 IEEE.

Magnetic detection technology is a special detecting technique developing for submarine detection and location without being affected by light and underwater sound attenuation effect. The aim of this study was to design the reasonable magnetic array with some inductive deep-sea magnetometers to improve the detection efficiency and realize effective location of the submarine pipeline. The Targeting-Location-Theory (TLT) including the magnetic array was constructed by the calculation model. The error analysis was carried out, and the data system and the terminal interface were displayed. It indicated that there is a possibility of developing the magnetic array into real application. © 2019 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

Defect distribution prediction is a meaningful topic because software defects are the fundamental cause of many attacks and data loss. Building accurate prediction models can help developers find bugs and prioritize their testing efforts. Previous researches focus on exploring different machine learning algorithms based on the features that encode the characteristics of *** problem of data redundancy exists in software defect data set, which has great influence on prediction *** propose a defect distribution prediction model(Deep belief network prediction model, DBNPM), a system for detecting whether a program module contains defects. The key insight of DBNPM is Deep belief network(DBN)technology, which is an effective deep learning technique in image processing and natural language processing,whose features are similar to defects in source *** results show that DBNPM can efficiently extract and process the data characteristics of source program and the performance is better than Support vector machine(SVM), Locally linear embedding SVM(LLE-SVM), and Neighborhood preserving embedding SVM(NPE-SVM).

Mesh Smoothing Method Based on Local Wave Analysis

As the mesh models usually contain noise data,it is necessary to eliminate the noises and smooth the *** existed methods always lose geometric features during the smoothing ***,the noise is considered as a kind of random signal with high frequency,and then the mesh model smoothing is operated with signal processing *** wave analysis is used to deal with geometric signal,and then a novel mesh smoothing method based on the local wave is *** proposed method includes following steps：Firstly,analyze the principle of local wave decomposition for 1D signal,and expand it to 2D signal and 3D spherical surface signal processing;Secondly,map the mesh to the spherical surface with parameterization,resample the spherical mesh and decompose the spherical signals by local wave analysis;Thirdly,propose the coordinate smoothing and radical radius smoothing methods,the former filters the mesh points＇ coordinates by local wave,and the latter filters the radical radius from their geometric center to mesh points by local wave;Finally,remove the high-frequency component of spherical signal,and obtain the smooth mesh model with inversely mapping from the spherical *** mesh models with Gaussian noise are processed by local wave based method and other compared *** results show that local wave based method can obtain better smoothing performance,and reserve more original geometric features at the same time.

Studies in the optimization of sequence alignment have been carried out in bioinformatics. In this paper, we have focused on two aspects: memory usage and execution time. Our study suggests that cache memory does not have a significant effect on system performance. Our attention then turns to optimize Smith—Waterman's algorithm. Two instruction level methods have been proposed and 2—8 fold speed improvements have been observed after the optimization has been implemented. Further improvements on system performance have been achieved by overlapping computation with system I/O usage.

Distributed energy management for interconnected operation of combined heat and power-based microgrids with demand response

From the perspective of transactive energy, the energy trading among interconnected microgrids(MGs) is promising to improve the economy and reliability of system operations. In this paper, a distributed energy management method for interconnected operations of combined heat and power(CHP)-based MGs with demand response(DR) is proposed. First, the system model of operational cost including CHP, DR, renewable distributed sources, and diesel generation is introduced, where the DR is modeled as a virtual generation unit. Second, the optimal scheduling model is decentralized as several distributed scheduling models in accordance with the number of associated MGs. Moreover, a distributed iterative algorithm based on subgradient with dynamic search direction is proposed. During the iterative process, the information exchange between neighboring MGs is limited to Lagrange multipliers and expected purchasing energy. Finally,numerical results are given for an interconnected MGs system consisting of three MGs, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
