A reduced combustion mechanism of ammonia/diesel optimized with multi-objective genetic algorithm

For the deep understanding on combustion of ammonia/diesel,this study develops a reduced mechanism of ammonia/diesel with 227 species and 937 *** sub-mechanism on ammonia/interactions of N-based and C-based species(N—C)/NOx is optimized using the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II(NSGA-II)with 200 *** optimized mechanism(named as 937b)is validated against combustion characteristics of ammonia/methane(which is used to examine the accuracy of N—C interactions)and ammonia/diesel *** ignition delay times(IDTs),the laminar flame speeds and most of key intermediate species during the combustion of ammonia/methane blends can be accurately simulated by 937b under a wide range of *** for ammonia/diesel blends with various diesel energy fractions,reasonable predictions on the IDTs under pressures from 1.0 MPa to5.0 MPa as well as the laminar flame speeds are also achieved by *** particular,with regard to the IDT simulations of ammonia/diesel blends,937b makes progress in both aspects of overall accuracy and computational efficiency,compared to a detailed ammonia/diesel *** kinetic analysis reveals that the reaction pathway of ammonia during the combustion of ammonia/diesel blend mainly differs in the tendencies of oxygen additions to NH_2 and NH with different equivalence ratios.

Human-Machine Shared Lateral control Strategy for Intelligent Vehicles Based on Human Driver Risk Perception Reliability

Intelligent vehicle(Ⅳ)technology has developed rapidly in recent ***,achieving fully unmanned driving still presents numerous challenges,which means that human drivers will continue to play a vital role in vehicle operation for the foreseeable ***-machine shared driving,involving cooperation between a human driver and an automated driving system(AVS),has been widely regarded as a necessary stage for the development of *** onⅣdriving safety,this study proposed a human-machine shared lateral control strategy(HSLCS)based on the reliability of driver risk *** HSLCS starts by identifying the effective areas of driver risk perception based on eye *** establishes an anisotropic driving risk field,which serves as the foundation for the AVS to assess risk *** upon the cumulative and diminishing effects of risk perception,the proposed approach leverages the driver's risk perception effective area and converts the risk field into a representation aligned with the driver's ***,it quantifies the reliability of the driver's risk perception by using area-matching ***,based on the driver’s risk perception reliability and dif-ferences in lateral driving operation between the human driver and the AVS,the dynamic distribution of driving authority is achieved through a fuzzy rule-based system,and the human-machine shared lateral control is completed by using model predictive *** HSLCS was tested across various scenarios on a driver-in-the-loop test *** results show that the HSLCS can realize the synergy and complementarity of human and machine intelligence,effectively ensuring the safety ofⅣoperation.

A Hierarchical LSTM-Based Vehicle Trajectory Prediction Method Considering Interaction Information

Trajectory prediction is an essential component in autonomous driving systems,as it can forecast the future movements of surrounding vehicles,thereby enhancing the decision-making and planning capabilities of autonomous driving *** models relying on constant acceleration and constant velocity often experience a reduction in prediction accu-racy as the forecasted timeframe *** limitation makes it challenging to meet the demands for medium to long-term trajectory ***,data-driven models,particularly those based on Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)neural networks,have demonstrated superior performance in medium to long-term trajectory ***,this study introduces a hierarchical LSTM-based method for vehicle trajectory *** the difficulty of using a single LSTM model to predict trajectories for all driving intentions,the trajectory prediction task is decomposed into three sequential steps:driving intention prediction,lane change time prediction,and trajectory ***,given that the driving intent and trajectory of a vehicle are always subject to the influence of the surrounding traffic flow,the predictive model proposed in this paper incorporates the interactional information of neighboring vehicle movements into the model *** proposed method is trained and validated on the real vehicle trajectory dataset Next Generation *** results show that the proposed hierarchical LSTM method has a lower prediction error compared to the integral LSTM model.

The risk factors and threshold level of subchronic inhalation exposure of reclaimed water

Inhalation of reclaimed water is known to cause lung infammation,and free endotoxins have been shown to be a major risk factor for acute *** exposure has also been shown to induce infammatory responses with visible tissue ***,subchronic risk factors have yet to be identified,and a threshold for the protection of occupational populations during urban reuse is *** this study,potential risk factors in reclaimed water were examined by subchronic exposure with fractionated reclaimed water,and the health risk threshold was tested with a series of diluted reclaimed ***,following a 12-week exposure,macromolecules and microorganisms were found to be two major risk factors in reclaimed water that could cause pulmonary infammation,including increased proportion of polymorphonuclear leukocytes in bronchoalveolar fuid,formation of inducible bronchus-associated lymphoid tissue,and elevation of Immunoglobulin A ***,infammation persisted after a 4-week recovery *** calculated threshold of reclaimed water exposure for mice was 31.8 Endotoxin Unit(EU)/(kg·day)under when exposed to 50%additional relative humidity from reclaimed water at 25℃ for 2 hr/***,the subchronic threshold estimate for humans under the same exposure conditions was found to be 12.2 EU/(kg·day),corresponding to endotoxin levels of 61.7 EU/mL in reclaimed *** threshold level of endotoxin was lower than that in most non-potable reclaimed *** findings of this study suggest that occupational exposure of reclaimed water can serve as a potential risk to workers.

The emission of hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)in sewers leads to pipeline corrosion and odor ***-reducing bacteria(SRB)reduce sulfate as the main pathway for H_(2)S production in *** SRB activity through chemical or biological methods is an effective strategy to reduce H_(2)S ***,the objective of this review is to provide a comprehensive summary of research in the reduction of H_(2)S production in sewer systems via inhibition of the metabolic activity of *** study provides an understanding on the complex metabolism of SRB,which is crucial for mitigating H_(2)S generation in sewer *** review addresses H_(2)S production in sewer systems and its reduction methods by inhibiting SRB activity using both chemical and biological ***,the addition of chemicals to sewer systems to control H_(2)S has shown good ***,these methods face challenges such as the need for repeated dosing,short effective durations,bacterial resistance,and increased loads on downstream wastewater treatment *** agents are more environmentally friendly,but research on their application for controlling H_(2)S in sewer systems is limited,and their effectiveness and stability are yet to be *** review analyses the potential of chemical and biological methods,discusses current applications and future research directions based on SRB inhibition mechanisms,and provides insights for developing more efficient and ecofriendly strategies for H_(2)S control in sewer systems.

An Integrated Analysis on the Synergistic Reduction of Carbon and Pollution Emissions from China’s Iron and Steel Industry

Decarbonization and decontamination of the iron and steel industry(ISI),which contributes up to 15%to anthropogenic CO_(2) emissions(or carbon emissions)and significant proportions of air and water pollutant emissions in China,are challenged by the huge demand for *** and pollutants often share common emission sources,indicating that emission reduction could be achieved ***,we explored the inherent potential of measures to adjust feedstock composition and technological structure and to control the size of the ISI to achieve carbon emission reduction(CER)and pollution emission reduction(PER).We investigated five typical pollutants in this study,namely,petroleum hydrocarbon pollutants and chemical oxygen demand in wastewater,particulate matter,SO_(2),and NO_(x) in off gases,and examined synergies between CER and PER by employing cross elasticity for the period between 2022 and *** results suggest that a reduction of 8.7%-11.7%in carbon emissions and 20%-31%in pollution emissions(except for particulate matter emissions)could be achieved by 2025 under a high steel scrap ratio(SSR)***,the SSR and electric arc furnace(EAF)ratio serve critical roles in enhancing synergies between CER and PER(which vary with the type of pollutant).However,subject to a limited volume of steel scrap,a focused increase in the EAF ratio with neglection of the available supply of steel scrap to EAF facilities would lead to an increase carbon and pollution *** CER can be achieved through SSR and EAF ratio optimization,only when the crude steel production growth rate remains below 2.2%can these optimization measures maintain the emissions in 2030 at a similar level to that in ***,the synergistic effects between PER and CER should be considered when formulating a development route for the ISI in the future.

A systematic review of the inequality of health burdens related to climate change

Climate change significantly impacts human health,exacerbating existing health inequalities and creating new *** study addresses the lack of systematic review in this area by analyzing 2440 publications,focusing on four key terms:health,disparities,environmental factors,and climate *** inclusion criteria limited the selection to English-language,peer-reviewed articles related to climate health hazards,ensuring the relevance and rigor of the synthesized *** process synthesized 65 relevant *** investigation revealed that recent research,predominantly from developed countries,has broadened its scope beyond temperature-related impacts to encompass diverse climate hazards,including droughts,extreme weather,floods,mental health issues,and the intersecting effects of Coronavirus Disease *** has highlighted exposure as the most studied element in the causal chain of climate change-related health inequalities,followed by adaptive capability and inherent *** most significant vulnerabilities were observed among populations with low socioeconomic status,ethnic minorities,and *** study further reveals research biases and methodological limitations,such as the paucity of attention to underdeveloped regions,a narrow focus on non-temperature-related hazards,challenges in attributing climate change effects,and a deficit of large-scale empirical *** findings call for more innovative research approaches and a holistic integration of physical,socio-political,and economic dimensions to enrich climate-health discourse and inform equitable policy-making.

Air pollution is one of the most challenging environmental issues in the *** has achieved remarkable success in improving air quality in last decade as a result of aggressive air pollution control ***,the average fine particulate matter(PM2.5)concentration in China is still about six times of the World Health Organization(WHO)Global Air Quality Guidelines(AQG)and causing significant human health *** emission reductions of multiple air pollutants are required for China to achieve the *** we identify the major challenges in future air quality improvement and propose corresponding control *** main challenges include the persistently high health risk attributed to PM2.5 pollution,the excessively loose air quality standards,and coordinated control of air pollution,greenhouse gases(GHGs)emissions and emerging *** further improve air quality and protect human health,a health-oriented air pollution control strategy shall be implemented by tightening the air quality standards as well as optimizing emission reduction pathways based on the health risks of various *** the meantime,an“oneatmosphere”concept shall be adopted to strengthen the synergistic control of air pollutants and GHGs and the control of non-combustion sources and emerging pollutants shall be enhanced.

Vehicle state and Bias Estimation Based on Unscented Kalman Filter with Vehicle Hybrid Kinematics and Dynamics Models

In recent years,vehicle state estimation methods incorporating different vehicle models have received extensive *** the vehicle is disturbed by external forces not considered in traditional vehicle models(for example,a certain slope,or wind resistance different from theoretical calculation),the problem of model mismatch will occur,which leads to the inaccurate estimation of the vehicle *** solve this problem,an Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF)algorithm is used to fuse inertial navigation data with the vehicle hybrid model in this *** hybrid model introduces a switching strategy that fuses the vehicle kinematics and the dynamics models while augmenting biases that need to be estimated in the vehicle *** switching strategy resolves the integration divergence problem of vehicle dynamics models at low speeds and the inaccurate estimation of vehicle kinematics models at high *** experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately estimate biases induced by external forces,enhancing the accuracy and confidence of states by eliminating errors caused by these *** robustness of the method is validated in vehicle verification platform experiments,where errors in vehicle lateral speed and yaw rate are reduced by 9.7 cm/s and 0.012°/s,respectively,under large curvature maneuvers,and 9.6 cm/s and 0.004°/s under quarter-turn *** proposed method significantly improves lateral speed and vehicle position accuracies.
