Data quality evaluation and calibration of on-road remote sensing systems based on exhaust plumes

In recent years,with rapid increases in the number of vehicles in China,the contribution of vehicle exhaust emissions to air pollution has become increasingly *** achieve the precise control of emissions,on-road remote sensing(RS)technology has been developed and applied for law enforcement and ***,data quality is still an existing issue affecting the development and application of *** this study,the RS data from a cross-road RS system used at a single site(from 2012 to 2015)were collected,the data screening process was reviewed,the issues with data quality were summarized,a new method of data screening and calibration was proposed,and the effectiveness of the improved data quality control methods was finally *** results showed that this method reduces the skewness and kurtosis of the data distribution by up to nearly 67%,which restores the actual characteristics of exhaust diffusion and is conducive to the identification of actual clean and high-emission *** annual variability of emission factors of nitric oxide decreases by 60%-on average-eliminating the annual drift of fleet emissions and improving data reliability.

Abnormal Data Identification and Reconstruction Based on Wind Speed Characteristics

High availability of wind power data is the basis for wind power research, but there are a large number of abnormal data in actual collected data, which seriously affects analysis of wind power law and reduces prediction accuracy. Measured power data of wind farm are analyzed, influence of wind speed fluctuation characteristics on wind power is discussed, and abnormal points are identified for data of different wind types. The Cluster-Based Local Outlier Factor (CLOF) algorithm based on K-means is used to identify outlier abnormal points, and conditional constraints based on physical background are used to identify accumulation abnormal points. Reconstructed data segment is divided according to fluctuation of wind speed. The Bidirectional Gate Recurrent Unit (BiGRU) model with wind speed as input reconstructs fluctuation segment data, and bi-directional weighted random forest model reconstructs stationary segment data. Based on analysis of measured data of a wind farm, results show the method can effectively identify various abnormal data, and complete high-quality reconstruction of data, thereby improving accuracy of wind power prediction.

Assessing the iron and steel industry's(ISI)impact on climate change and environmental health is vital,particularly in China,where this sector significantly influences air quality and CO_(2)*** is a lack of comprehensive analyses that consider the environmental and health burdens of manufacturing processes for ISI ***,we present an integrated emission inventory that encompasses air pollutants and CO_(2)emissions from 811 ISI enterprises and five key manufacturing processes in *** analysis shows that sintering is the primary source of air pollution in the *** contributes 71%of SO_(2),73%of NO_(x),and 54%of PM_(2.5)*** the other hand,81%of total CO_(2)emissions come from blast ***,the contributions of ISI have resulted in an increase of 3.6 mg m^(-3)in national population-weighted PM_(2.5)concentration,causing approximately 59,035 premature deaths in *** from Hebei,Jiangsu,Shandong,Shanxi,and Inner Mongolia provinces contributed to 48%of PM_(2.5)-related deaths in ***,the transportation of air pollutants across provincial borders highlights a concerning trend of environmental health *** on the research findings,it is crucial for ISI manufacturers to prioritize the removal of outdated production capacities and adopt energy-efficient and advanced techniques,along with ultra-low emission *** is particularly important for those manufacturers with substantial environmental *** transformative actions are essential in mitigating the environmental and health impacts in the affected regions.

Online Optimization to Suppress the Grid-Injected Power Deviation of Wind Farms with Battery-Hydrogen Hybrid Energy Storage systems

To address the issue of coordinated control of multiple hydrogen and battery storage units to suppress the grid-injected power deviation of wind farms,an online optimization strategy for Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage systems based on measurement feedback is ***,considering the high charge/discharge losses of hydrogen storage and the low energy density of battery storage,an operational optimization objective is established to enable adaptive energy adjustment in the Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage ***,an online optimization model minimizing the operational cost of the hybrid system is constructed to suppress grid-injected power deviations with satisfying the operational constraints of hydrogen storage and ***,utilizing the online measurement of the energy states of hydrogen storage and batteries,an online optimization strategy based on measurement feedback is *** study results show:before and after smoothing the fluctuations in wind power,the time when the power exceeded the upper and lower limits of the grid-injected power accounted for 24.1%and 1.45%of the total time,respectively,the proposed strategy can effectively keep the grid-injected power deviations of wind farms within the allowable *** storage and batteries respectively undertake long-term and short-term charge/discharge tasks,effectively reducing charge/discharge losses of the Battery-hydrogen hybrid energy storage systems and improving its operational efficiency.

In recent years, arcing faults inside large oil-immersed power transformers have been frequent. Suspended bubbles, as the main product of high temperature, high humidity, material aging and cracking gas production inside transformers, are one of the main causes of arcing inside transformers. However, due to the complex structure of the oil channel and the large fluctuation of the internal flow field distribution, the resulting bubble morphology evolution and movement law is not clear. In this paper, the influence of the initial position of bubbles and the relative position between bubbles on the flow field distribution is fully considered, and the dynamic behavior of suspended bubbles in oil under two fluid forms of natural oil circulation and forced oil circulation is simulated and studied by combining laminar and turbulent flow models and bubble force control equations, and the correlation mechanism between suspended bubbles and flow field distribution characteristics is analyzed. The simulation results show that the flow field in the laminar state affects the bubble aggregation and trajectory, while the turbulent state affects the bubble distortion and motion time, and a reasonable model in the simulation of bubble dynamic behavior is more beneficial to improve the simulation accuracy. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Emission of greenhouse gases from sewer networks:field assessment and isotopic characterization

Sewer networks play a vital role in sewage collection and transportation,and they are being rapidly ***,the microbial processes occurring within these networks have emerged as significant contributors to greenhouse gas(GHG)*** to that from other sectors,our understanding of the magnitude of GHG emissions from sewer networks is currently *** this study,we conducted a GHG emission assessment in an independent sewer network located in Beijing,*** findings revealed annual emissions of 62.3 kg CH_(4) and 0.753 kg ***_(4) emerged as the primary GHG emitted from sewers,accounting for 87.4%of the total GHG ***,compared with main pipes,branch pipes were responsible for a larger share of GHG emissions,contributing to 76.7%of the total.A GHG emission factor of 0.26 kg CO_(2)-eq/(m:yr)was established to quantify sewer GHG *** examining the isotopic signatures of CO_(2)/CH_(4) pairs,it was determined that CH_(4) production in sewers primarily occurred through acetate ***,the structure of sewer pipes had a significant impact on GHG *** study offers valuable insights into the overall GHG emissions associated with sewer networks and sheds ight on themechanismsdriving theseemissions.

Effects of exogenous acylated homoserine lactones on biofilms in biofilters for gaseous toluene treatment

Biofilters are typical biofilm reactors, and they usually have poor biofilm formation resulting in limited reactor performance. Exogenous acylated homoserine lactones (AHLs) can enhance biofilm formation in many bioreactors based on quorum sensing regulation. However, their effect on biofilm in biofilters utilized for volatile organic compound (VOC) removal is unknown and needs to be investigated. In this study, the effects of the exogenous AHLs on biofilters for gaseous toluene removal were investigated. Analysis of biofilms in biofilters showed that the addition of exogenous AHLs considerably enhanced biofilm growth;the average biofilm concentration increased by 18%. Furthermore, the average biofilm coverage proportions in biofilters with and without exogenous AHLs were 17 % and 13 %, respectively, demonstrating the positive effect of exogenous AHLs on biofilm coverage. In particular, exogenous AHLs promoted the production of extracellular polymeric substances and the microbial adhesive strength of the biofilm. In addition, the exogenous AHLs showed no significant effect on the gaseous toluene removal efficiency of the biofilter. These results show that exogenous AHLs can enhance biofilm formation and can guide the application of exogenous AHLs in VOC biofilters.

Vehicle engines often operate under various operating conditions, and their air fuel ratio (AFR) system has characteristics of nonlinearity, time-varying, and time delay, which can bring difficulties to system modeling and affect the control effect of the air fuel ratio. Therefore, studying control strategies that consider the characteristics of the air fuel ratio system is of great significance. Firstly, the engine air fuel ratio system is modeled, and a feedback linearization control method is used to design an air fuel ratio controller to ensure that the engine's air fuel ratio is stable at the target value. Finally, the effectiveness of the modeling of the air fuel ratio system and the air fuel ratio controller was verified through experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

Enhanced Cd^(2+)removal from aqueous solution using olivine and magnesite combination:New insights into the mechanochemical synergistic effect

In this study,an efficient stabilizer material for cadmium(Cd^(2+))treatment was successfully prepared by simply co-milling olivine with *** analyticalmethods including XRD,TEM,SEM and FTIR,combined with theoretical calculations(DFT),were used to investigate mechanochemical interfacial reaction between twominerals,and the reaction mechanism of Cd removal,with ion exchange between Cd^(2+)and Mg^(2+)as the main pathway.A fixation capacity of Cd^(2+)as high as 270.61 mg/g,much higher than that of the pristine minerals and even the individual/physical mixture of milled olivine and magnesite,has been obtained at optimized conditions,with a neutral pH value of the solution after treatment to allow its direct *** as-proposed Mg-based stabilizer with various advantages such as cost benefits,green feature etc.,will boosts the utilization efficiency of naturalminerals over the elaborately prepared adsorbents.
