This paper investigated the effects of cutting trailing edge serration on airfoil aerodynamic noise based on the acoustic analogy method. Large eddy simulation (LES) was used to capture the transient near-field information of the airfoil, and the Ffowcs Williams Hawkings (FW-H) equation is employed to predict the far-field noise. The research subject is the NACA0012 airfoil, with the length and width of serration ranging from 0.01 to 0.03 and 0.02 to 0.04 times the airfoil chord length (c), respectively. Acoustic experimental data are used to validate the accuracy of the simulation method. The angle of attack of incoming flow is 0°, with Reynolds and Mach numbers of 6.6 × 106 and 0.147, respectively. The research indicates that within the specified parameter range, the noise reduction effect of the serration perpendicular to the incoming flow direction is proportional to both the height and width of the serration. The maximum noise reduction is 3.3 dB. The cutting trailing edge serration leads to an increase in the high-frequency component of the streamwise noise. In the presence of cutting trailing edge serration, the overall sound pressure level of the streamwise noise increases. Compared to embedded trailing edge serration, cutting trailing edge serration have a lower limited height in terms of noise reduction. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Fault detection and location are critically significant applications of a supervisory control system in a smart *** methods,based on random matrix theory(RMT),have been practiced using measurements to detect short circuit faults occurring on transmission ***,the diagnostic accuracy is infuenced by the noise signal in the *** relationship between mean eigenvalue of a random matrix and noise is detected in this paper,and the defects of the Mean Spectral Radius(MSR),as an indicator to detect faults,are theoretically determined,along with a novel indicator of the shifting degree of maximum eigenvalue and its *** comparing the indicator and the threshold,the occurrence of a fault can be ***,an augmented matrix is constructed to locate the fault *** proposed method can effectively achieve fault detection via the RMT without any influence of noise,and also does not depend on system *** experiment results are based on the IEEE 39-bus ***,actual provincial grid data is applied to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The identification of load model parameters from practical measurement data has become an essential method to build load models for power system simulation,analysis and *** practical situations,the accuracy of the load model parameters identification results is impacted by data quality and measurement accuracy,which leads to the problem of *** this paper,an identifiability analysis methodology of load model parameters,by estimating the confidential intervals(CIs)of the parameters,is *** load model structure and the combined optimization and regression method to identify the parameters are first ***,the definition and analysis method of identifiability are *** CIs of the parameters are estimated through the profile likelihood method,based on which a practical identifiability index(PII)is defined to quantitatively evaluate ***,the effectiveness of the proposed analysis approach is validated by the case study results in a practical provincial power *** results show that the impact of various disturbance magnitudes,measurement errors and data length can all be reflected by the proposed ***,the proposed PII can provide guidance in data length selection in practical load model identification situations.

Precise Compound control of Loading Force for Electric Load Simulator of Electric Power Steering Test Bench

Electric load simulator(ELS) systems are employed for electric power steering(EPS) test benches to load rack force by precise control. Precise ELS control is strongly influenced by nonlinear factors. When the steering motor rapidly rotates, extra force is directly superimposed on the original static loading error, which becomes one of the main sources of the final error. It is key to achieve ELS precise loading control for the entire EPS test bench. Therefore, a three-part compound control algorithm is proposed to improve the loading accuracy. First, a fuzzy proportional–integral plus feedforward controller with force feedback is presented. Second, a friction compensation algorithm is established to reduce the influence of friction. Then, the relationships between each quantity and the extra force are analyzed when the steering motor rapidly rotates, and a net torque feedforward compensation algorithm is proposed to eliminate the extra force. The compound control algorithm was verified through simulations and experiments. The results show that the tracking performance of the compound control algorithm satisfies the demands of engineering practice, and the extra force in the ELS system can be suppressed by the net torque corresponding to the actuator’s acceleration.

To validate the alternative simulation models and select the most credible one when the models have multivariate and correlated outputs, an intelligent ranking evaluation method of simulation models based on Graph Neural Network (GNN) is proposed. The process of ranking evaluation is divided into three parts: graph structure conversion for evaluation data, feature extraction based on Graph Representation Learning (GRL) and ranking evaluation based on feature distance. A graph structure modeling method is presented to provide the pre-define graph structure for further GRL primarily. Next the interdependencies and dynamic evolutionary patterns among variables are captured by GNN so that the graph representations of evaluation data can be obtained. Then ranking evaluation is achieved by similarity measurement of the graph representations. In the end, the effectiveness of the proposed method on feature extraction of evaluation data and simulation models ranking is illustrated through an application example on a prediction model for aerodynamic parameters of a certain flight vehicle. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

In the long-term operation of a megawatt-scale energy storage plant composed of series-parallel connections, the single batteries will have different degrees of inconsistency problems. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a comprehensive assessment method based on the consistency of batteries in scaled energy storage power stations. According to the consistency indexes such as single battery voltage and voltage polarity difference in series connection between modules, the consistency evaluation criterion of battery monomer was established. Based on the historical data of a battery energy storage system, the consistency evaluation criterion of a single battery is used to analyze the consistency of a single battery of an energy storage power station at different charging and discharging stages. The results show that this method can accurately assess cell consistency. It provides data support for the health status assessment of energy storage plants and reduces the systematic operational risk of energy storage plants. © 2024 IEEE.

Numerical study of a trapezoidal bypass dual throat nozzle

Bypass Dual Throat Nozzle(BDTN)is a novel type of fluidic thrust vectoring *** improve the infrared stealth performance of BDTN,a nozzle based on BDTN is proposed and numerically *** cross-section along the x-axis of the novel nozzle becomes a trapezoid,which is named“BDTN-TRA.”The main numerical simulation results show that BDTN-TRA can produce a thrust vectoring angle when the upper or lower bypass valve is *** angle difference between the two conditions mentioned above is usually approximately 1°-2°.Even if the two bypasses are closed,BDTN-TRA can produce a small thrust vectoring angle at around 3°-5°.When the sidewall angle increases from 60°to 90°,the thrust coefficient and thrust vectoring angle under each work condition usually decrease.A larger aspect ratio indicates better *** the aspect ratio increases over 7.2,the performance of BDTN-TRA is quite close to that of BDTN with rectangular cross-sections at the same aspect *** features will benefit the control and trimming for future aircraft design,especially for the flying wing layout *** but not least,BDTN-TRA has a more extraordinary mixing performance compared with *** distributions of static temperature and axial velocity along the x-axis of BDTN-TRA with sidewall angle of 60°decrease faster than those of *** the total temperature of the inlet equals 1600 K,the static temperature difference between BDTN-TRA with sidewall angles of 60°and 90°is over 360 K at twice the length of the nozzle downstream of the nozzle exit,which is the reflection for excellent infrared stealth for the fighter.

Diagnosis of unbalanced bearing fault samples based on cycle generative adversarial networks

The robust feature extraction capability of deep learning (DL) has rendered it a popular choice for fault diagnosis in various industries. However, the accuracy of fault diagnosis models is often compromised due to an imbalance between normal and faulty data during the production process. To address this issue, this study proposes an unbalanced bearing fault sample diagnostic method based on a cycle generative adversarial network, using vibration fault diagnosis of rotating machinery rolling bearings as an illustrative example for validation purposes. The method utilizes continuous wavelet transform (CWT) to convert the original vibration signal into time–frequency maps, which are then utilized as input for the cycle generative adversarial network. To address issues related to unstable training and timely convergence of the model, spectral normalization and weight decay techniques are introduced, thereby enhancing the performance of the improved cycle generative adversarial network in generating additional fault samples. Finally, the Swin Transformer model is employed for fault diagnosis and compared with other methods such as Random Forest (RF), Sparse Autoencoder (SAE), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The diagnostic experiment encompasses sample expansion, imbalanced proportion between normal and faulty samples, as well as scenarios involving limited sample sizes. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can generate higher quality synthetic samples when training data is scarce;moreover, utilizing the Swin Transformer for diagnosis yields superior accuracy compared to alternative approaches such as RF, SAE, SVM, or CNN models—thus showcasing significant potential in addressing imbalanced data within fault diagnosis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

CLLC converters are broadly used in battery energy storage systems (BESS), where the capabilities of bidirectional operation and voltage regulation are desired. In the existing bidirectional power transfer scheme, pulse frequency modulation (PFM) is used to realize the reciprocal gain of forward and backward directions. It leads to not only large frequency modulation range but also asymmetric transfer characteristics. In this paper, a novel modulation scheme of CLLC converters for bidirectional power transfer is proposed. In the proposed backward power transfer scheme, the driving signals of primary and secondary-side switches are aligned at the falling-edge, which brings about symmetrical characteristics as forward scheme. This symmetry further ensures the identical switching frequency in both directions, which simplifies parameter design, minimizes switching frequency range, and improves efficiency. A 10-kW prototype is built and the experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, offering potential for cost-effective and efficient applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate prediction of the adhesion coefficient parameters of the road ahead is critical to the driving safety of intelligent driving vehicles, however, the current stage of raw image-based methods are difficult to achieve high-precision and reliable prediction due to the complexity of the elements within the scene. To this end, a road adhesion coefficient recognition algorithm inspired by semantic segmentation is proposed. The method designs a sequential prediction algorithm structure that includes semantic segmentation, road surface extraction, road surface recognition, and adhesion coefficient mapping. Additionally, the method introduces the spatial attention mechanism and channel attention mechanism separately into the semantic segmentation network and road surface classification network, effectively enhancing the accuracy and real-time performance of the adhesion coefficient prediction algorithm. Experimental results illustrate that this real-time adhesion coefficient prediction algorithm achieves good performance in maintaining accuracy, real-time capability, and robustness. It can accurately and rapidly predict road surface adhesion information in driving scenarios. © 2023 IEEE.
