Traffic noise pollution is a significant source of urban pollution. Roadside noise barriers (RNBs) serve as a primary solution to urban traffic noise pollution, but achieving precise positioning of RNBs requires on-site inspections and manual labeling, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Deploying an RNB recognition algorithm on inspection vehicles equipped with cameras and positioning devices is an efficient approach to establishing a high-precision RNB positioning database. We propose a high-accuracy RNB recognition algorithm, RNBFormer. In the model design, we integrate both convolutional and transformer structures to enhance the model's global feature extraction capability while optimizing the representation of local features. Additionally, we incorporate a channel attention mechanism to provide more discriminative features at the channel level. We trained and tested our model on a publicly available dataset, achieving a classification accuracy of 98.93%. © 2024 ACM.

Epoxy, with excellent electrical insulation properties, processing performance, and low price, is commonly used for transformers (110kV and below) and power electronic transformers (high-frequency transformers) as the primary insulating material. Since the thermal conductivity of epoxy resins is only 0.2 W/(m·K), the electrical insulation properties decline significantly at high frequency. Preparing epoxy composites with high thermal conductivity and excellent electrical insulation at high frequencies is a great challenge for industrial production. It is considered that SiO2 (9 eV), BN (5.9 eV), and Al2O3 (7.2-8.8 eV) are thermally conductive particles with good electrical insulation properties. The materials filled with different micron-scale particles have higher thermal conductivity than the nanofilled materials. In this study, 5 μm SiO2, 25 μm BN, and 40 μm Al2O3 were used as fillers, and the filler ratios were calculated according to the Dinger-Funk model, focusing on the effects of the variation of filler content on thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties. The thermal conductivity of the epoxy composites improved with the increase of filler content up to 1.003 W/(m·K), while the AC breakdown field strength gradually decreased. However, the breakdown time at 20 kHz, 35 kV/mm bipolar square wave appeared to increase and then decrease with the increase of content. Therefore, the optimum content of fillers allows the preparation of efficient epoxy composites as insulating materials for power electronic transformers. This study provides ideas for designing thermally conductive composites operating at high frequency and high voltage fields. © 2024 IEEE.

Variability of fuel consumption and CO_(2) emissions of a gasoline passenger car under multiple in-laboratory and on-road testing conditions

An increasing divergence regarding fuel consumption(and/or CO_(2)emissions) between realworld and type-approval values for light-duty gasoline vehicles(LDGVs) has posed severe challenges to mitigating greenhouse gases(GHGs) and achieving carbon emissions peak and neutrality. To address this divergence issue, laboratory test cycles with more real-featured and transient traffic patterns have been developed recently, for example, the China Lightduty Vehicle Test Cycle for Passenger cars(CLTC-P). We collected fuel consumption and CO_(2)emissions data of a LDGV under various conditions based on laboratory chassis dynamometer and on-road tests. laboratory results showed that both standard test cycles and setting methods of road load affected fuel consumption slightly, with variations of less than 4%. Compared to the type-approval value, laboratory and on-road fuel consumption of the tested LDGV over the CLTC-P increased by 9% and 34% under the reference condition(i.e., air conditioning off, automatic stop and start(STT) on and two passengers). On-road measurement results indicated that fuel consumption under the low-speed phase of the CLTC-P increased by 12% due to the STT off, although only a 4% increase on average over the entire cycle. More fuel consumption increases(52%) were attributed to air conditioning usage and full passenger capacity. Strong correlations(R2> 0.9) between relative fuel consumption and average speed were also identified. Under traffic congestion(average speed below 25 km/hr), fuel consumption was highly sensitive to changes in vehicle speed. Thus,we suggest that real-world driving conditions cannot be ignored when evaluating the fuel economy and GHGs reduction of LDGVs.

Application of Omega vortex identification method in cavity buffeting noise

The cavity buffeting noise is related to the free shear layer oscillation and the periodic vortex shedding,where weak vortices coexist with strong vortices and the strong shear phenomenon also exists at the opening of the ***,it is of great significance to accurately capture vortices at the opening for the control of the cavity buffeting *** paper first compares the Omega vortex identification method with the Q andλ2criteria based on the large eddy simulation(LES)of the backward-facing step flow,and it is found that the Omega method enjoys the following advantages:it is not sensitive to a moderate threshold change andΩ=0.52 can be used as a fixed threshold,it can capture both the strong and weak vortices at the same time;and it will not be contaminated by the *** the Omega(Ω)method is applied to the LES of the cavity buffeting noise:the mechanism of the cavity buffeting noise is studied based on a simple cavity model firstly,and then the effects of the incoming boundary layer thicknesses and the incoming boundary layer shapes on the cavity buffeting noise are *** results show that:theΩmethod clearly captures the processes of the vortex generation,development,collision and fragmentation,verifying that the generation of the cavity buffeting noise is related to the free shear layer oscillation and the periodic vortex shedding;as the thickness of the incoming boundary layer increases,the free shear layer becomes more stable and the Helmholtz resonance is avoided effectively,thereby the cavity buffeting noise is reduced effectively,adding a convexity upstream of the cavity opening to interfere the shape of the incoming boundary layer to reduce the acoustic feedback effect can reduce the cavity buffeting noise effectively.

A reduced Ammonia/China Stage-VI diesel mechanism for dual-fuel engine simulations: Development, validation and CFD implementation

Ammonia (NH3) is a hydrogen energy carrier, and NH3/diesel dual-fuel engines enhance NH3 flame propagation and combustion stability while reducing emissions. A reduced NH3/diesel mechanism is crucial for dual-fuel engine combustion simulation. However, previous studies using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) with manual selection were affected by decision-maker subjectivity. In this study, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was used to improve decision consistency, repeatability, and explain-ability. A novel NSGA-II/TOPSIS hybrid method was first used to develop a reduced mechanism for China Stage-VI diesel under wide engine conditions. Sensitivity analysis was used to identify the key NH3/diesel auto-ignition reactions. Validated against experimental data, the optimized mechanism (90 species, 400 reactions) achieved an average of 12 % higher accuracy in predicting NH3/China Stage-VI diesel blends ignition delay times across all tested ammonia energy ratios (10–90 %) compared to detailed mechanisms, and successfully simulated real engine combustion conditions. © 2025 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

Uncovering the coupling effect with energy-related carbon emissions and human development variety in Chinese provinces

Lessening energy-related carbon emissions has become a crucial measure to achieve Chinese carbon *** study is the first to construct a Difference in Carbon pressures-adjusted Human Development Index(DCHDI)model for the purpose of exploring the coupling effect between carbon emissions and human development variety from 2000 to 2019 in Chinese *** demonstrate the following.(1)The total energy-related carbon footprint of 30 provinces in China reached 10.2 billion tons in 2019,with an average annual growth rate of 6.93% over the past two decades;and the provinces with the highest carbon emissions per capita are InnerMongolia,Ningxia,and Shanxi.(2)At the provincial level,we observed that the Human Development Index(HDI),which includes life expectancy,education,and income,has been rising,while Beijing,Shanghai,and Tianjin entered the super-high HDI level before 2008.(3)The entire coupling effect of 30 Chinese provinces has been broadly fortified in the last 20 years,but the growth rate of DCHDI values in 2011-2019 has slowed down compared with that in 2000-2010;the clustering phenomenon demonstrated that this discovery is associated with historical peaks in total carbon emissions.(4)The co-ordination degree of carbon emissions per capita and HDI was verified,and 96% of the data points were found in the range of super high coupling coordination ***,this study provides the government with worthwhile guidance for decision-making and carbon reduction strategies for other countries struggling to advance human sustainable development.

At present,research on hydraulic mounts has mainly focused on the prediction of the dynamic stiffness and loss *** to the traditional finite element analysis method,the programming method can be used to analyze hydraulic mounts for a rapid and accurate understanding of the influence of the different mounting parameters on the dynamic stiffness and loss *** aims of this study were to investigate the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of a hydraulic mount,and to identify the parameters that affect the dynamic stiffness and loss angle using MATLAB software programs to obtain the influence curves of the parameters,so as to use suitable parameters as the basis for vibration analysis.A nonlinear mechanical model of a hydraulic mount was established according to the basic principles of fluid *** dynamic stiffness and loss angle of the dimensionless expression were proposed.A numerical calculation method for the dynamic performance evaluation index of the hydraulic mount was derived.A one-to-one correspondence was established between the structural parameters and peak frequency of the evaluation *** accuracy and applicability of the mechanical model were verified by the test *** results demonstrated the accuracy of the nonlinear mechanical model of the hydraulic mount,and the vehicle driving comfort was greatly improved by the optimization of the structural parameters.

Metagenomic insights into the profile of antibiotic resistomes in sediments of aquaculture wastewater treatment system

To meet the rapidly growing global demand for aquaculture products,large amounts of antibiotics were used in aquaculture,which might accelerate the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria(ARB)and the propagation of antibiotic genes(ARGs).In our research,we revealed the ARGs profiles,their co-occurrence with mobile genetic elements(MGEs),and potential hosts in sediments of a crab pond wastewater purification system based on metagenomic *** residual antibiotic seems to increase the propagation of ARGs in the crab pond,but there was no clear relationship between a given antibiotic type and the corresponding resistance *** effect of aquaculture on sediment was not as profound as that of other anthropogentic activities,but increased the relative abundance of sulfon-amide resistance gene.A higher abundance of MGEs,especially plasmid,increased the po-tential ARGs dissemination risk in crab and purification *** and sulfonamide resistance genes had greater potential to transfer because they were more frequently carried by *** horizontal gene transfer was likely to occur among a variety of microorgan-isms,and various ARGs hosts including Pseudomonas,Acinetobacter,Escherichia,and Klebsiella were *** community influenced the composition of ARG hosts,and Pro-teobacteria was the predominant ***,our study provides novel insights into the environmental risk of ARGs in sediments of aquaculture wastewater treatment system.
