Hospital sewage contains various harmful pharmaceutical contaminants(e.g.,antibiotics,anti-inflammatory agents,and painkillers)and pathogens(e.g.,bacteria,viruses,and parasites),whose direct discharge into the environment will induce diseases and pose a powerful threat to human health and safety,and environmental *** recent years,advanced oxidation processes(AOPs),particularly photocatalysis,electrocatalysis,and ozone catalysis have been developed as widespread and effective techniques for hospital sewage ***,there is a lack of systematic comparison and review of the prior studies on hospital sewage treatment using AOPs *** review elaborates on the mechanisms,removal efficiencies,and advantages/disadvantages of these AOPs systems for hospital wastewater decontamination and ***,some novel and potential technologies such as photo-electrocatalysis,electro-peroxone,Fenton/Fenton-like,and piezoelectric catalysis are also included and ***,we further summarize and compare the capacity of these AOPs to treat the actual hospital wastewater under the impact of the water matrix and pH,and estimate the economic cost of these technologies for practical ***,the future development directions of AOPs for hospital wastewater decontamination and disinfection have been ***,this study provides a comparison and overview of these AOP systems in an attempt to raise extensive concerns about hospital wastewater decontamination and disinfection technologies and guide researchers to discover the future directions of technologies optimization,which would be a crucial step forward in the field of hospital sewage treatment.

Intelligent connected vehicle platooning technology utilizes vehicle-to-vehicle communication to enhance urban road efficiency and ensure driving *** paper focuses on the vehicle platoon motion planning algorithm,which constructs a reference path for platoon vehicles based on smoothed historical trajectory points of the lead *** algorithm generates path boundaries considering road and obstacle information,creates candidate paths using lateral and longitudinal sampling,and selects the optimal path using a cost function.A velocity planning algorithm is developed for platoon vehicles,incorporating dual-mode strategies for platoon cruise and obstacle avoidance based on different scenarios.A safety risk assessment is established,guiding the choice of speed planning ***-world experiments validate the planning outcomes,evaluating speed,acceleration,and inter-vehicle *** indicate well-smoothed trajectories with good comfort and safety attributes.

Real-time electromagnetic transient simulation can quickly analyze and solve the problems in complex large-scale power systems, realize accurate prediction and diagnosis of faults, and is a necessary means to promote the implementation of new power systems. However, the real-time simulation of electromagnetic transient puts forward strict requirements for the real-time performance of the underlying operating system. In this paper, the test method of system runtime jitter on Linux platform is designed, and the causes of jitter are analyzed based on the test results, and the control method of runtime jitter is studied. The experimental results show that the jitter of the system can be controlled in nanosecond level after using the methods of interrupt shutdown, CPU core binding and configuration of NOHZ_FULL, which can meet the needs of real-time simulation of electromagnetic transient. © 2023 IEEE.

In complex terrain regions, it is very challenging to obtain high accuracy and resolution precipitation data that are required in land hydrological studies. In this study, an adaptive precipitation downscaling method is proposed based on the statistical downscaling model MicroMet. A key input parameter in the MicroMet is the precipitation adjustment factor(PAF) that shows the elevation dependence of precipitation. Its value is estimated conventionally based on station observations and suffers sparse stations in high altitudes. This study proposes to estimate the PAF value and its spatial variability with precipitation data from high-resolution atmospheric simulations and tests the idea in Nepal of South Himalayas, where rainfall stations are relatively dense. The result shows that MicroMet performs the best with the PAF value estimated from the simulation data at the scale of approximately 1.5 degrees. Not only the value at this scale is qualitatively consistent with early knowledge obtained from intensive observations, but also the downscaling performance with this value is better than or comparable to that with the PAF estimated from dense station data. Finally, it is shown that the PAF estimation, although critical, cannot replace the importance of increasing input station density for downscaling.

Catalytic performance of Pd catalyst supported on CeO_(2) or ZrO_(2) modified beta zeolite for methane oxidation

Two kinds of oxide-zeolite composite support,Ce-beta and Zr-beta were prepared by a simple wet impregnation method and adopted for the preparation of palladium-based catalysts for catalytic oxidation of *** Pd/6.8Zr-beta catalyst showed superiormethane oxidation performance,achieving T_(50) and T90 of 417℃ and 451℃,respectively,together with robust hydrothermal *** analysis has shown that incorporating Zr into the catalyst significantly enhanced its efficiency,nearly tripling the turnover frequency(TOF)for methane combustion compared to the Pd/beta *** enhanced performance was attributed to the dispersion of Zr on the zeolite surface,which not only promoted the formation of active PdO sites but also helped maintain the high Pd^(2+)content via facilitating the oxygen migration during the reaction,thus improving both the catalyst’s activity and *** the Pd/8.6Ce-beta catalyst,doped CeO_(2) tended to aggregate in the zeolite’s pores,adversely affecting the catalyst’s *** aggregation promoted the formation of inactive Pd^(4+) species,a result of the enhanced metal-support *** finding is critical for understanding the implications of dopant selection in the design of high-activity methane oxidation catalysts.

Dissolved organic matter(DOM) plays an essential role in many geochemical processes,however its complexity, chemical diversity, and molecular composition are poorly understood. Soil samples were collected from 500 vegetable fields in administrative regions of China' Mainland, of which 122 were selected for further investigation. DOM properties were characterized by three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(3D-EEM) fuorescence spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry(FTICRMS)(field intensity is 15 Tesla). Our results indicated that the main constituents were UVA humic-like substances, humic-like substances, fulvic acid-like substances, and tyrosine-like substances. A total of 10,989 molecular formulae with a mass range of 100.04 to 799.59 Da were detected, covering the mass spectrometric information of the soil samples from 27 different regions. CHO and CHON molecules were dominant in DOM, whereas lignin, tannins,and aromatic substances served as the main components. The results of cluster analysis revealed that the soil properties in Jiangxi Province were considerably different from those in other regions. The key backgrounds of the DOM molecular characteristics in the vegetablefield soil samples across China' Mainland were provided at the molecular level, with large abundance and great variability.

Membrane distillation(MD)is a promising alternative desalination technology,but the hydrophobic membrane cannot intercept volatile organic compounds(VOCs),resulting in aggravation in the quality of *** term of this,electro-Fenton(EF)was coupled with sweeping gas membrane distillation(SGMD)in a more efficient way to construct an advanced oxidation barrier at the gas-liquid interface,so that the VOCs could be trapped in this layer to guarantee the water quality of the *** the so-called EF-MD process,an interfacial interception barrier containing hydroxyl radical formed on the hydrophobic membrane *** contributed to the high phenol rejection of 90.2% with the permeate phenol concentration lower than 1.50 mg/*** interceptions can be achieved in a wide temperature range,even though the permeate flux of phenol was also *** EF-MD system was robust to high salinity and could electrochemically regenerate ferrous ions,which endowed the long-term stability of the *** novel EF-MD configuration proposed a valuable strategy to intercept VOCs in MD and will broaden the application of MD in hypersaline wastewater treatment.

Eutrophication in cold-arid lakes: molecular characteristics and transformation mechanism of DOM under microbial action at the ice-water interface

During freezing periods, nutrients (carbon and organic matter, etc.) are enriched in the water and sediment of lakes in cold-arid regions, leading to potential algal bloom outbreaks and other health risks to the ecosystem. Particularly, dissolved organic matter (DOM) is a critical component of the nutrients and plays an important role in the global carbon cycle. However, the mechanisms of DOM transfer between ice and water remain unclear. This study analyzed the influence of microbial community on DOM composition using 16 s RNA, 3DEEM, and FT-ICR MS in Daihai Lake and Wuliangsuhai Lake in the Yellow River Basin, China. According to the spectral analysis, the content of endogenous organic matter, such as humus, accounted for 40% of the total DOM in water, while the content of tryptophan and tyrosine accounted for 80% of the total DOM in ice. The results of mass spectrometry showed that lignin was the main component, and the content of organic matter in the ice was less than that in the water. Molecular structures of seven DOM coexisting in the lake ice and water were elucidated with adapted Kendrick-analogous network visualization, which clearly illustrates that long-chain DOM molecules are derived from small molecules, while other heteroatoms are complexed with the side groups. The positive correlations between CHO, CHNO, CHOS, CHOS and Actinomyces indicate that DOM actively interacted with the microbial community. 44% of CHO compounds have the same molecular formula in water, the content of CHOS in the water of the two lakes was closed to 7% higher than that in the ice. Meanwhile, DOM dynamically migrate between ice and water via interstitial water because of the solubility changes under microbial transformation, which has been proved by the decrease in the contents of the humus and tryptophan-like substances in the ice from the bottom to the surface and lower contents of carbohydrate and unsaturated aromatic hydrocarbon in the water than the ice. Flexible low-frequency AC transmission technology combines the advantages of 50 Hz AC transmission and DC transmission, and has good application scenarios. High voltage and large capacity AC/AC converters are the core equipment of flexible low-frequency AC transmission systems. The proposal of half-wave commutated modular multilevel converters effectively reduces the number of components and improves system economy. In view of this, this paper proposes an overvoltage suppression strategy for active control of inductor current, which effectively reduces the overvoltage level during commutation. The article first introduces the sparse topology and mathematical model of the half-wave commutated modular multilevel converters. Secondly, the mechanism of overvoltage generation is analyzed. Then, overvoltage suppression strategies are proposed. Finally, a PSCAD simulation model is built to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through simulation. © 2024 IEEE.
