Membrane modification is one of the most feasible and effective solutions to membrane fouling proble.m which tenaciousl.y hampers .the furher au .gmentation of me .rnbrane *** *** modification with nanoparticles (NPs), owing to the convenience of being incorporated in established ***. ction lines, possesses an advantag, eous viability in practical ***, the existing blending strategy suffers from a low utilization efficiency due to NP encasement by membrane matrix. The current study proposed an improved blending modification approach with amphiphilic NPs (aNPs), which were prepared through silanization using 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (TMSPMA) as coupling agents and ZnO or SiO2 as pristine NPs (pNPs), *** Fourier transform infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses revealed thepresence of appropriate organic components in both the ZnO and SiO2 aNPs, which verified the success of the silanization process. As compared with the pristine and conventional pNP-blended membranes, both the ZnO aNP-blended and SiO2 aNP-blended membranes with proper silanization (100% and 200% w/w) achieved a significantly increased blending efficiency with more NPs scattenng on the internal and external membrane surfaces under scanning electron microscope observation. This improvement contributed to the increase of membrane hydrophilicity. Nevertheless, an extra dosage of the TMSPMA led to an encasement of NPs, thereby adversely affecting the properties of the resultant membranes. On the basis of all the tests, 100% (w/w) was selected as the optimum TMSPMA dosage for blending modification for both the ZnO and SiO2 types.

Triclosan is an antimicrobial agent which has been frequently detected in the environment. In this paper, the biodegradation of triclosan after radiation-induced advanced oxidation was investigated. The results show that the removal efficiency of triclosan in the combined irradiation and biological treatment process ranged from 88% to 97%, depending on the absorbed dose, while it was only 54% in the single biological treatment process. The removal efficiency of total organic carbon (TOC) was in the range of 53.1%,-59.2% at dose of 1-5 kGy in the combined irradiation and biological treatment process. In comparison, the removal efficiency of TOC in the single biological treatment process was 24.5%, suggesting that irradiation can enhance the mineralization of triclosan. The dechlorination efficiency of triclosan ranged from 48.6% to 78.4% at dose of 1-5 kGy. The intermediates of triclosan degradation were tentatively identified by LC-MS analysis and the possible degradation pathway was proposed. Based on the above results, the combined irradiation and biological treatment process could be an alternative process for treating triclosan-containing wastewater.

The current research of suspension performance evaluation is mixed in the evaluation of vehicle handling and ride comfort. However, it is lack of a direct and independent evaluation method for suspension performance. In this paper, a novel wheel turn center method is proposed to evaluate the suspension performance. This method is based on the concept and application of wheel turn center (WTC) and sprung mass turn center (SPTC). The vehicle body and each wheel are regarded to be independent rigid bodies and have their own turn centers which reflect respective steering motions and responses. Since the suspension is the link between vehicle body and wheels, the consistence between the sprung mass turn center and the wheel turn center reflects the effect and performance of the suspension system. Firstly, the concept and appropriate calculation method of WTC and SPTC are developed. Then the degree of inconsistence between WTC and SPTC and the time that they achieve consistence, when the vehicle experiences from transient steering to steady steering state, are proposed to evaluate suspension performance. The suspension evaluation tests are conducted under different vehicle velocities and lateral accelerations by using CarSim software. The simulation results show that the inconsistence of steering motion between vehicle body and wheels are mainly at high speeds and low lateral accelerations. Finally, based on the proposed evaluation indexes, the influences of different suspension characteristic parameters on suspension performance and their matches to improve steering coordination are discussed. The proposed wheel turn center method provides a guidance and potential application for suspension evaluation and optimization.

Application of renewable energy is an effective way to control the excessive petroleum consumption in transportation ***,there is a worthy concern about the applicability of alternative fuel on in-use vehicles and the variation of exhaust emissions when switching from the traditional gasoline to a new *** paper is aimed to investigate the impact of two typical kinds of alcohol gasoline,E10 and M15,on fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions of a late-model multi-port fuel injection(PFI) passenger vehicle over the worldwide harmonized light-duty test cycle(WLTC).The results showed that fuel consumption and CO emissions of the test vehicle with both E10 and M15 were higher than that with gasoline.E10 reduced most of the gaseous and particulate emissions,except NOx,while M15 deteriorated the exhaust emissions seriously,especially for the THC and PN emissions those increased by approximately 3.4 and 4.6 *** most likely reason was that M15 did not match the configuration of engine and emission controlsystem of this test *** studies about fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions after traditional gasoline replaced by alcohol gasoline has also revealed the deterioration when the alcohol gasoline didn't match the vehicle configuration,which would result in some negative impact on the atmospheric environment.

A headway control algorithm with the compensation of the preceding vehicle acceleration is proposed. Multi performances such as driving safety, passenger comfort and energy economy are considered to imitate car-following features of skilled drivers. To follow the preceding vehicle more stably and safely, the preceding vehicle acceleration is estimated via a differential tracker and a feedforward term with the input of estimated acceleration is added into the headway controller with a feedback term. The feedforward and feedback headway controller is designed via quadratic boundedness concept and the multi performances are coordinated by transforming the ranges of them into linear matrix inequalities. Finally, the car-following performance of the designed algorithm is verified under operating conditions in which the preceding vehicle speed is constant or changing.
