Generalized Variational Merging of Multi-source Precipitation Data Based on the Non-Gaussian Model

Different from other domestic and foreign research in which the optimum interpolation(OI) merging algorithm is commonly used,this paper constructs the non-Gaussian model for generalized variational precipitation data merging research based on the non-Gaussianity of precipitation data. For CMORPH data correction,the probability density function( PDF) matching method is adopted,during which the GAMMA function fitting is utilized,and the generalized variational merging based on non-Gaussian model is used to merge corrected CMORPH precipitation data and station ground observation precipitation data. Meanwhile,we carry out an experiment on CMORPH precipitation data correction and the merging of multisource precipitation data based on non-Gaussian model. By measuring the structural similarity between the merged field and the reference field,we get a merging method that can better retain useful " outliers" which represent weather phenomena. The experimental results accord with our expectations.

3D object detection based on LiDAR-camera fusion is becoming an emerging research theme for autonomous driving. However, it has been surprisingly difficult to effectively fuse both modalities without information loss and interference. To solve this issue, we propose a single-stage multi-view fusion framework that takes LiDAR Birds-Eye View, LiDAR Range View and Camera View images as inputs for 3D object detection. To effectively fuse multi-view features, we propose an Attentive Pointwise Fusion (APF) module to estimate the importance of the three sources with attention mechanisms which can achieve adaptive fusion of multi-view features in a pointwise manner. Besides, an Attentive Pointwise Weighting (APW) module is designed to help the network learn structure information and point feature importance with two extra tasks: foreground classification and center regression, and the predicted foreground probability will be used to reweight the point features. We design an end-to-end learnable network named MVAF-Net to integrate these two components. Our evaluations conducted on the KITTI 3D object detection datasets demonstrate that the proposed APF and APW module offer significant performance gain and that the proposed MVAF-Net achieves state-of-the-art performance in the KITTI benchmark. As an important equipment, convertor transformer plays a crucial role in ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC). How to improve the safety running level of convertor transformers is a key problem to be solved imminently. Compared with AC power transformers, the valve side windings of convertor transformers will endure combined AC-DC voltage. In these conditions, the gas generation characteristics in oil for convertor transformers will be more complicated. In this paper, according to the operational principle of convertor transformers, the ratios between AC and DC voltage on valve side windings in the star connection and triangular connection were 77.1% and 83.7% respectively. Based on the above results, 65 kV peak voltages in 5 different AC and DC voltage forms were applied to the needle-plate electrode model for 2 hours. The discharge current and voltage waveforms were recorded and the arc current pulses had a short lasting time about 1.2 ms. Then the mean discharge energy was calculated at 0.1 to 0.3 J. At the same time, the gas generation characteristics under combined AC-DC voltage were obtained by using the gas chromatographic analysis method. The variations of amounts and generation rates of characteristic gases were measured with time during 2 hours, which provided fault judgment criterions and experimental experience. The experimental results showed that the amounts and generation rates of H2, C2H2 and total hydrocarbon under the pure DC voltage or combined AC-DC voltage were more than those under the pure AC voltage. It might illustrate the fact that effects of different voltage forms would lead to different gas generation characteristics could not be ignored.

This paper presents an adaptive sliding mode controller for the system of flexible load driven by motors with the damping and friction considered. The controller comprised the sliding mode controller and the Kalman estimator. Firstly, the parameter uncertainties and disturbance are modeled with a bounded variable and then an integral sliding surface is designed. Then, to relax the requirement for the bound of uncertainties, a Kalman state estimator is proposed to estimate the bound of uncertainties and the unmeasurable states. With the proposed control structure, the vibration caused by the flexibility can be suppressed and besides, the controller is robust to a wide range of parameter uncertainty and disturbance. The performance of the control strategy is verified via simulation and experimental results.

Based on the rate control method of the wind power fluctuation, this paper proposes an adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) based method to optimize the power of battery energy storage systems (BESS) adaptively. On the one hand, this method can be used to adjust the unstable wind and BESS hybrid power output so as to satisfy the requirements of wind power. On the other hand, this method can be used to control the battery state of charge (SOC) maintained within a suitable range, to achieve a reasonable charge and discharge function of the battery. Take a typical wind farm's output as example, under the limitation of wind power volatility and battery state of charge, this paper shows the experiment that through the real-time online optimization of the smoothing process. The simulation results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed coordinated control strategy based on ADP.

In the field of renewable energy generation, Portugal is in the leading position in the world. The electricity production of wind farms accounting for one third of the total electricity demand in Portugal. At the same time, the high penetration of wind power in the country's power system brings more uncertainty to net demand, which can bring grave challenges to peak load regulation. Considering the high penetration rate of wind power in Portugal power gird, a model on configuration of peak load regulation resources and a strategy of peak load regulation are established. The model aims to minimize the prime cost of peak load regulation. It is based on the mathematical model of each kind of resource. It also reckons the difference of hydro plants' peak shaving ability in different seasons. Finally, it proves its rationality and practicability through applications on specific examples of Portugal power system. The results show that the study on this model has great importance to peak load regulation in a power system with high penetration rate of new energy resources.

The power fluctuation of photovoltaic (PV) is harmful to power systems, so the battery energy storage system (BESS) was applied to smooth power fluctuation in PV. At present, the main ways to get configuration of BESS are low-pass filter and spectrum compensation, which have some drawbacks. In this paper, a method that combines empirical mode decomposition (EMD) with wavelet analysis (WA) is proposed to get grid-connected active power expectation of PV properly. Based on simulation of PV output, the minimum sizing of BESS is determined by different batteries’ state-of-charging (SOC) and efficiency. Comparing traditional low-pass filter and spectrum compensation, this method not only acquires the capacity of BESS accurately, but also improves the effect to smoothing power fluctuation of PV effectively. Finally, a case is proposed to verify correctness of the theory.

With the remarkable development of the power grid, traditional manual maintenance modes cannot meet the requirement of efficiency and reliability. Robotic technology is applied for power line maintenance to bring down risks and ensure inspectors' safety. Based on the power transmission line maintenance platform, a 5-DOF manipulator is designed to perform the maintenance tasks for the quad bundle conductors. Then the kinematics analysis of the manipulator is analyzed. The manipulator doesn't meet the Pieper criterion. So an improved adaptive particle swarm optimization(APSO) is proposed for figuring out the inverse kinematics. The weights of the pose and the constraint of the prismatic joint are introduced to the algorithm. What's more, half of the particles are initialized around the incipient value of joints and half of the particles are randomly initialized with the constraint of joints in this algorithm. Results show that the manipulator is able to work in the environment of quad bundle conductors and the proposed algorithm can improve the precision of inverse kinematics and prevent the leap of joints.
