In order to detect the abnormal temperature of large oil-Immersed power transformer earlier, this paper presents a new prediction-model of surface-temperature for the transformer to predict the normal surf ace-temperature. And to compare the difference between the predicted value and the measured value can judge If the condition of the transformer Is fit to operate. The model parameters are estimated from the field data by using the Partial-Least-Square method, which overcomes the instability of results estimated by using the traditional Least-Square method. Furthermore, the appropriate amount of data for the parameter estimation was decided according to the principle of Heat Transfer and the characteristics of the predicted deviation, such as mean, variance and normal distribution. The prediction model is verified from the accuracy of results predicted with one year of field data.

The communication protocol is important for applying adjustable speed drive (ASD) systems to an industry network. This paper proposes a novel scheme of communication system for the ASD system based on Modbus protocol. The most remarkable advantage of the approach lies in the tradeoff between performance and economic cost for a power converter system. The overall system is built on master-slave structure and easy for interacting with other networks. An additional study on the cyclic redundancy check (CRC) in Modbus RTU is introduced to obtain the optimization design in the actual application and the optimization method in software design is also presented. The performance of the communication system obtained from experiment conducted on the 15kW ASD system validates the effectiveness of the proposed design method. © 2008 IEEE.

power to hydrogen is a promising method to consume surplus renewable energy existing in the world. However, due to bottlenecks in hydrogen storage and transportation, converting hydrogen into ammonia which is a kind of hydrogen carrier with satisfied quality in storage and transportation is considered. Industrial ammonia synthesis reactors always work in constant conditions with constant flow rate of the feed gas, while hydrogen output of electrolyzers may vary sharply across renewable energy, thus hydrogen buffer tanks are required between electrolyzers and reactors to eliminate the fluctuation to some extent. The capacity of the buffer needs to be optimized due to relatively expensive cost of tanks, and the optimal capacity of the buffer actually depends on the operation flexibility of the reactor which is rarely discussed in existing literatures. This paper studies operation flexibility of the reactor first and establishes operation model of ammonia synthesis system under variable working conditions, on this basis the capacity optimization model is proposed and verified by a P2A system. At last the operation performance and the economy of P2A system are discussed, and case studies show that about 24% of total investment cost can be reduced with the consideration of operation flexibility of the reactor. © 2020 IEEE.

Analytical Representation of Data-driven Transient Stability Constraint and Its Application in Preventive control

Accurate transient stability assessment(TSA) and effective preventive control are important for the stable operation of power systems. With the superiorities in precision and efficiency, data-driven methods are widely used in TSA nowadays. Data-driven TSA model can be adopted in the stability constraints of preventive control optimization, but existing methods are mostly iteration-based ones, which may result in low efficiency, sometimes even non-convergence. In this paper,an analytical representation method of data-driven transient stability constraint is proposed based on a non-parametric regression model built for TSA. key feature extraction and dominant sample selection are proposed to reduce the scale of the TSA model, and bi-level linearization is applied to further modify *** preventive control model is then formulated as a mixed-integer linear program(MILP) problem with the linearized analytical data-driven transient stability constraint, which can be solved without iterations. An overall procedure of datadriven TSA and preventive control is finally developed. Case studies show that the proposed method has high accuracy in TSA and can achieve effective preventive control of power system with high efficiency.

With the development of energy industry and infor-mation technologies, the concept of energy Internet is proposed to prevent the energy crisis and reduce the environmental pollution. However, the planning of energy Internet is facing great challenges that there are large uncertainties of boundary conditions in the planning. The collection of Internet information can help solve the problem. This paper introduces the method of collecting objective data from the Internet, such as renewable energy sources data, climate data, and economic data, and the usage of the data for energy Internet planning. The method of collecting and processing fuzzy information from the Internet are introduced as well. The events related to the energy Internet planning can be perceived and be applied to the multi-scenario planning of energy Internet. Besides, the difficulties and outlooks of the usages are given. © 2017 IEEE.

Discrete event system(DES)models promote system engineering,including system design,verification,and *** advancement in manufacturing technology has endowed us to fabricate complex industrial ***,the adoption of advanced modeling methodologies adept at handling complexity and scalability is ***,industrial systems are no longer quiescent,thus the intelligent operations of the systems should be dynamically specified in the *** this paper,the composition of the subsystem behaviors is studied to generate the complexity and scalability of the global system model,and a Boolean semantic specifying algorithm is proposed for generating dynamic intelligent operations in the *** traditional modeling approaches,the change or addition of specifications always necessitates the complete resubmission of the system model,a resource-consuming and error-prone *** with traditional approaches,our approach has three remarkable advantages:(i)an established Boolean semantic can be fitful for all kinds of systems;(ii)there is no need to resubmit the system model whenever there is a change or addition of the operations;(iii)multiple specifying tasks can be easily achieved by continuously adding a new ***,this general modeling approach has wide potential for future complex and intelligent industrial systems.

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) loads have great potential for demand response due to the buildings' thermal inertia. Modelling the complex thermal dynamics of realistic buildings is essential for the building energy optimization. In this paper, Deep Q-Network (DQN), a reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm, is used to decide the indoor temperature setpoint in response to the real-time price. The agent can adjust the HVAC load to reduce the electricity cost while considering the occupants' comfort requirement. To significantly accelerate the training process, imitation learning is adopted to pre-train the RL agent using historical data. The results of the case study show that the agent's performance improves steadily and exceeds the benchmark after a short period of training. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. All rights reserved.

Time-varying frequency selective attenuation and colored noises are unfavorable characteristics of power line communication(PLC) channels of the low voltage *** overcome these disadvantages,a novel real-time dynamic spectrum management(DSM) algorithm in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)-based high-speed narrow-band power line communication(HNPLC) systems is proposed,and the corresponding FPGA circuit is designed and *** of the proposed DSM is validated with a large amount of network experiments under practical PLC *** the noise in each narrow subcarrier is approximately Gaussian,the proposed DSM adopts the BER/SER expression formulized via the AWGN channel to provide a handy and universal strategy for power *** real-time requirement is guaranteed by choosing subcarriers in group and employing the same modulation scheme within each *** measures are suitable for any modulation scheme no matter the system criterion is to maximize data rate or minimize power/*** design and hardware implementation of the proposed DSM are given with some flexible and efficient *** DSM circuit is carried out with Xilinx *** and practical experiments validate that the proposed real-time DSM significantly improves system performance.

With the rapid development of Energy Internet, the penetration of distributed energy resources is gradually increasing. New methods for potential evaluation of DERs is becoming more and more important for planning, operation, and control. In this paper, the traditional affine arithmetic-based forward-backward power flow calculation method is introduced. Then, modified method is proposed mainly considers arithmetic correction, weekly looped structure, and different types of DG. Moreover, comprehensive potential evaluation structure for DERs is proposed based on affine arithmetic which involves three parts. Finally, through numerical analysis, the applicability and error of the affine arithmetic method are analyzed. © 2019 IEEE.

LED lighting system supplied by batteries is one of effective solutions to vehicle and photovoltaic lighting systems. In order to improve lighting performance and prolong the life of LEDs and batteries, this paper proposes a novel intelligent controller for LED lighting systems. Stage constant current (SCC) control strategy is proposed, which determines the optimal working current of LEDs (Iref) according to their ambient temperature and the capacity of batteries. For implementing SCC control strategy, a new control algorithm of double current loops and feedforward (DCLF) control is proposed based on Boost converter with constant current source. Both output current and inductor current are used as feedback control variables and input voltage is employed as feedforward compensation in the proposed algorithm. simulations have been conducted using PSIM software;and based on that, a 50W photovoltaic LED lighting system has been developed to implement a serial of comparative experiments. The results show the advantages and validity of DCLF algorithm, such as excellent dynamic performance and good robustness. © 2008 IEEE.
