With the rapid deelopment of demand-side response and active distribution network, the new method to power and energy balance is becoming more and more important. In this paper, the architecture of power and energy balance in active distribution network is proposed, which consists of three parts: load and generation forecasting, power and energy balance. Moreover, capacity-load ratio guidance is modified combined with the peak shaving potential and trusted capacity. Besides, the energy balance method considering the operation-control of distributed energy is proposed. Finally, through numerical analysis, the feasibility and practicability of the model are verified.

Performance of a power system security early warning and control system depends on accuracy of power grid parameter to a great extent. It is important to develop a practical branch parameter estimation method. From the results of expanded state estimation application, which is a representative parameter estimation method proposed before, it often happened that the parameters could not be estimated or estimated imprecisely. Focusing on IEEE 9 and a real-life area power grid in China, deep research on expanded state estimation method is carried out. As a result, these numerical instability and local optimization problems existing in the method were found here. A novel parameter estimation method based on Tabu search strategy is proposed to overcome these problems existing in the expanded state estimation method. Its good behavior in numerical stability and global optimization is verified by numerical tests on IEEE 9 and the real-life area power grid in China.

For the simulation of large-scale AC/DC hybrid systems, both the precision of the DC parts and the efficiency of the whole system should be considered. Thus a real-time hybrid transient simulation platform is proposed by combining the real-time digital simulator (RTDS) and a transient stability analysis (TSA) program. A latest GTFPGA card is used to realize the high speed digital communication between RTDS and the computer deploying TSA program. Moreover, the frequency dependent network equivalent (FDNE) is implemented in this simulation platform to improve the accuracy of simulation results. By simulating a modified New England 39-bus test system incorporating high-voltage direct current (HVDC) components, the validity of the proposed simulation platform is verified.
