The understanding of the excitation mechanism of ultra high frequency (UHF) electromagnetic waves (EW) is essential for ap- plying UHF method to partial discharge (PD) detection. Since the EW induced by PD in gas insulated switchgear (GIS) contains not only transverse electromagnetic (TEM) wave, but also high-order transverse electric (TE) and high-order transverse magnetic (TM) waves, we analyzed the proportions between the TEM wave and the high order waves, as well as the influence of the PD position on this proportion, using the finite different time domain (FDTD) method. According to the unique characteristics of the waves, they are separated only ap- proximately. It is found that the high-order mode is the main component, more than 70%, of the electric field around the enclosure of GIS, and that with the increasing distance between PD source and inner conductors, the low frequency ( below about 800 MHz) component of EW decreases, but the high frequency component (above 1 GHz) increases, meanwhile the proportion of high-order components in EW could reach 77% from 70%. It concluded that the closer the PD source to the enclosure is, the easier high order EW may be excited.

Standardization is the development tendency of information exchange among control centers. Based on the standard in IEC 61970, an information exchange model suitable for coordinated automatic voltage control (CAVC) among multi control centers is proposed. Firstly, the contents of information flow of CAVC is analyzed and the definition of coordinated control model for information exchange is given;then the common information model is extended and a standardized information model for CAVC is designed;and then based on component interface specification, a standardized information exchange interface for CAVC is designed and its architecture for information exchange as well as its information exchange procedure are given. The presented information exchange model possesses wide application prospect in the implementation of information exchange among multi CAVC control centers for future smart grids.

Fully utilizing the flexibility provided by a district heating system(DHS)can promote wind power accommodation for an electric power system(EPS).However,for privacy or communication reasons,existing power and heat dispatch methods are not suitable for practical *** this paper,a general math formulation of the hierarchical dispatch method is proposed to coordinate EPS and DHS operators based on the feasible region of boundary variables(FRBV),and a method based on the simplicial approximation approach is proposed to obtain a conservative FRBV approximation of a DHS.A simulation based on a real 41-node DHS is constructed to determine the factors that may impact the boundaries of the FRBV,and then the performance of the simplicial approximation approach is displayed by visualizing the approximation process for the FRBV,and finally three dispatch methods are compared to show the advantages of the proposed hierarchical dispatch method.
